100 %. But in my opinion "Beyond the veil" was even better than "World of Glass". When Vibeke left TRISTANIA it was one of the saddest things. I was so fortunate to see her live in Dortmund on her last tour with Tristania. Beautiful woman!!

I like how I keep getting PM'd about "cradle is black metal herp a derp." If you've ever listened to true black metal, you'd know Burzum, Darkthrone, Mayhem and all that sound nothing like Cradle ever did. Cradle's demos came close but still weren't close enough in my opinion. Even later waves of BM like Emperor sounded nothing like CoF. "Extreme Gothic Metal" is the tag that comes with bands like CoF, Black Countess, and Lamia Antitheus. (if you like early Cradle I'll recommend those bands.)

@Darkmacabre666 Their earlier stuff was Symphonic, vaguely black metal, but they're not Gothic metal, because that would be closer to shit like Nightwish. Later on they became more Extreme Gothic Metal.

I've always considered Cradle as Extreme Gothic Metal. Black Metal was never about what these guys' lyrics said. Although the "extreme" part of them has been slowly declining though...

i think they are kinda gothic...thats what i think(please dont rape me!!)

@Lukelikeslemon Cradle aren't black metal. Even their old albums struggle to be true black metal. Some kind of melodic/symphonic version instead.

Nightwish isn't gothic metal either. They're more a fusion of folk/power/symphonic metal. Only thing 'gothicesque' about them is the atmosphere they created sometimes in their early albums and Tarja's voice. True gothic metal was Tristania. That is one fucking epic band. Especially the World of Glass album; flawless album imo. Personally I never liked Nightwish :P After hearing Vibeke's voice, no other female vocalist has appealed much to me (at least within that style).

I used to love Filth. Too bad Dani's ego brought the group downhill into really immature/stupid music. Cruelty And The Beast was definitely their magnum opus though. I love this song
