Dude I was stating a fact... don't take it personal. I made my account to post videos of my family before you could do that on Facebook. The one of me getting a tattoo has more views than most of yours. You're boring. Your channel is boring. 8 Bit Guy and LGR blow you away. Don't get mad, just step up your game.
Worth a try! "Guys I wanted to try to hook this LCD screen up to a Tesla 3 but for the life of me I can't find one anywhere" and see what comes in the mail. :)
I would love to get an NES Classic. Nintendo really messed up with the Classic, way to short of a supply of them. They could have made a lot of money if they had even tried to meet demand but instead it's the resellers who are making the money.
One of the two Mac's I've owned. Heartbreaking when you spent so much for one and it's almost worthless just a couple years later. It would be fun to see it up and running!
Yeah, I love the restoration videos. In previous videos it was mentioned that the only machines that make it to videos are those with historical significance, so I'm not sure if this Mac has anything to set it apart today.
Excellent channel, and I enjoyed this episode and new series. What I appreciate about you more than the retro tech and your insight, is that you're humble and honest (especially when things don't go to plan.) That's the real world. As a techie from the same generation as you, I look forward to seeing what you have in each episode. I love seeing the C64 and VIC20 videos...brings back some great memories. Keep up the good work!
Somebody gives you their favorite towel and you say you are going to dry your car with it? Outrageous! 1:09 I think you know full well just how important a towel s as per HHGTTG. ;)
I usually hate unboxing videos myself, but yours is different because you never know what is going to be shipped to you and it brings back so many memories. If " Bushcraft Knife Guy" does a box opening without actually using the knife and testing its quality ,it's basically just a Shameless commercial for an item that he's been comp'd and a quick video to up his numbers.
That doesn't work on all boxes or all stickers. Marker is probably the easiest, though if it's worth the editing effort it could be blurred in post-production.
This is the right way to do donation "unboxings." Under 6 minutes and no fluff. Thank you for making this worthwhile. When I first saw the video recommendation, I was afraid that it was going to be another 45 minute snore-fest like other channels have fallen into the trap of doing, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I can't explain why, but watching videos of donations or "mail bags" or whatever they call them is quite fascinating, and the generosity of some people out there is astounding... :)
Your channel is awesome. It is funny that a guy in Texas is doing a tech show. I am originally from No CA but live in Corpus Christi TX now so it is encouraging to see your channel. Take Care God Bless.
When I first saw your videos RU-vid suggested it based on other tutorials I watch. I'm glad I found your channel. I have a ton of retro tech like an old handheld Tandy computer. My first programmable computer was a 75 MHz computer pentium 1, then my cousin gave me a TI-86 in highschool, and my first laptop was the 486 Thinkpad laptop. I still have it and it is still functional!
I think the museum idea is awesome. Shareing with the younger kids what we had to deal with.... back then... and how they are so spoiled now... will hopefully get some of them to appreciate stuff like mice for example alot more, while also providing a learning experience. Lates.
please create a Blu-ray collection of all of your work on a single disc. I love to see full features such as: full 1080p, BTS, commentary, exclusive content, bonus episodes and liner notes from you and your team.
I watch you for you. Pretty much no matter what you do a video on, I'll watch it. These, however, are interesting on their own, so its a double bonus for me.
1:09 "don't forget t bring a towel" or "A towel is just about the most massively useful thing any interstellar Hitchhiker can carry" and don't dry the bit-mobile with that get a chamois.
All of your content is really cool. I'm only 15, so before I discovered your channel the oldest technology I had an interest for was the NES, though my dad has an atari 2600. I've gotten very interested in old electronics thanks to you, and I'd like to learn how to code in Microsoft Basic, if there is a good way to learn it these days. Thank you so much for your amazing content
I'd be willing to bet 15% of you had no idea West Virginia was even a state...! I'm glad someone from WV sent stuff to the 8-Bit Guy! & someone from Morgantown no less! Shoutout goes to you, Hayden!
Hillary Is Evil well, the accent isn't prevalent around Morgantown... however listening to my relatives from Mercer County usually is quite a bit of fun! Feminists don't really exist around here... other than the ones at WVU, there's not a whole lot they can bitch about without getting wrecked by the working class.. LOL
I enjoy these videos, not as much as your regular output but if they're easy to make then I'd gladly watch them in addition to your normal stuff. Oh and also, I know it was only an offhand joke comment but you totally *should* open a vintage computing/electronics museum!!!
Very cool, although I'm not sure if like the fact that you added your commentary after filming the unboxings, a big part of what I like about fan mail unboxings (LGR's for example) is seeing people's reactions and thoughts as they see the stuff people sent to them.
Enjoyable video series, I've watched similar ones for many channels. My only suggestion is to cut the post-recorded dubbing. For this kind of video it's a lot more fun to hear your thoughts, confusion, expectation, etc at the time. When you're just acting out a "Oh I don't know what's in this package" dub after the fact it's really odd sounding and kind of cheesy.
If you need a Tesla Model 3 donation, don't get your hopes up that I'll be sending one your way. I'll need someone to donate one to me first. Maybe two.
Some new games for your history of Commodore gaming series. A new 8-Bit Machintosh Computer and a new 8-Bit NES Mini console. What great donations. I remember back when we had both Acorn and Apple going on in the UK both doing ARM and RISC OS stuff. In fact Acorn now has a gimmick name of being the UK based Apple even though our country sold both products back then. Bet thats one set you wouldn't mind having during donations the Acorn's and another one being the Commodore AMIGA's range knowing what you got sent so far I bet you may come across them one day and all. The 8-Bit sound chip on the 16-32-Bit processor AMIGA is probably the most techniquelly impressive bit of 8-Bit retro sound chip tech there is you gotta love the verity of sound chip softwares used to make music on it too there is even SID Mon 1 & 2 if you love a little bit of SID music and what to see what a SID Chip sounds like if it was in 4 channels instead of 3 which the real SID itself was very impressive getting great sounds from a 3 channels output of a left, right and central over both stereo sound but with the output being RF or mono composite there is no way of playing the actual 3 channel stereo sound of the SID of the 2 stereo channels and one mono subwoffer like channel airing on both speakers but you can on SIDMon as the AMIGA has stereo composite. I love the SID mind you. It's my second favorite 8-Bit soundchip hardware as Commdore did 8-Bit sound hardware the best. If the SPC Chip on the Super Nintendo is an 8-Bit Audio Bus like the AMIGA I'd give that 3rd place hands down for it's capability on orchristal tracks rather than the overly horny sounding ones. N-Fam which is NES with exrra channels making it even more impressive on the stereo panning although just like the C64 it's issue lies within the cables and ports being RF and non stereo composite unless it's a hacked RGB NES which fixes all your multi channel stereo pannings actually outputting them in their real stereo which they should really make a hacked audio C64 just like it to make it play in the SID chips stereo with Subwoofer over both channels format. And in my 5th place I gotta put the complete YM series. I love the gritty teeth razor sound of these chips in fact I'd probably actually put these even higher up in the list but it's a rough overview of my faves and not a real ordering Top 5 as such as they could change everytime I hear an impressive tune on any of these 8-Bit Audio Bus chips they are just my favorite sounding ones rather than an order. Honorable mention for another one of my other faves the 128k AY rather than the 48k version which the 48k I don't really like that much which is more of a screeky like mice sounding music which is ear grating unless a good programmer is brought in to do some impressive stuff on the 48k in that case it's a rare I like track on it rather than startng calling it one of the great chips. Those 128k AY's can do the snoopy dogs sound better than a SID in my opinion as it's the home of total snoop dog yapping sounding music the 128k AY is but they don't have the other cool cyber futuristic sounds which makes the SID sound so good which is why it rates so lowly compared to the SID in my opinion but I do love it for doing snoopy dogs right not overlapping cyber sounds to make the better sounds in the tracks glitch out on the track which is why I don't like snoopys being used on a C64 much but a good programmer can make a snoopys track sound great on a C64 dispite the tripout problems with that sound as a good SID music programmer can use the glitching of the snoopys and cybers to make a glitchy track deliberately to take advantage of the SID's disadvantages which makes what should be a bad track sound great and without the glitches those tracks wouldn't sound as good because those tracks the disadvantage becomes advantage because of the musician being that damn good at using chip based shortfuls for an actual good sound which shouldn't sound good in therory but it just does when the glitching thing is used right so I do rate the SID, Paula, YM, SPC and NSF over the 128k AY on the ST/Spectrum 128 in a Top 10 but this as a Top 5 so it's only got an Honerable Mention. The 48k AY is in my Top 5 worse 8-Bit sound bus chips which I don't think can even be made into 5 but there are a few that come to my head. Keep in mind when a talented artist works on them there are tracks I do love on crap music hardware. Commodore TED Chip "should have used a SID in it as this was nasty unless programmed by the masters." Atari 2600 Music Chip "although sound effect is great on this and one of my faves this is about my worse for music." AY 46k "Mice screaking sound, it's an advanced bleeper output version of an AY in old Spectrums" Bleeper "An old built in speaker on the hardware format used on many old hardware." PC Speaker "Non Tandy another advanced version of the bleeper whilst I do actually like the sound of the tandy one sounding close to the SEGA MS hardware this was crap unless it's programmed by a master" Keep in mind these are just crap as sand alone without a master composer doing their magic to make tracks sound good on this very limited hardware there are still wonderful sounds being put out of them by the masters but if someone isn't very good they are some of the worst sound chips out there for bad programmers of audio hardware from the musical point of view.
Man, I gotta start up a vlog. Get all kinds of cool stuff. ... but then i'd have to compete with you and I really don't want to do that. ;) Love your videos! :D
