We seem to be forgetting the use of bone conduction Pathetique, transferring sound through the use of physical vibrations into the skull, which he was known to do on his own, so yes he could have heard it in a way though not as any of us would. They all were. Bach was the father of modern keyboard theory and fingering. All of the great masters were influenced by him. Beethoven was far more Classical, than Baroque.

I should know, I've played classical piano since the age of 7, and when I started listening to metal and other heavy musics, I gravitated towards bands that incorporated classical music into their sound, like Emperor. Then I realized that the similarities didn't need to be so overt.

My grandfather told me that back when they were first making this sort of music, they would have to use these plugs to get one certain tone, record it, than reset it, record, reset, record, until they had it all in an 8bit version, and it took a hell of a long time to do in that period, around the 60's or 70's.
