These are some of the brands I met and interviewed at the Ethical Fashion Show and GreenShowroom in Berlin (a trade fair to sell new collections to retailers). I'm so excited to share their stories and perspectives on ethical and sustainable fashion! - time codes below -

I was amazed at how big the trade show was, we were there for 2 days and only got to talk with a small percent- there were 179 exhibitors!

I'm the type that would wear my clothes to rags but definitely would make sure to do my part on caring for my fabrics to the best I could. I'm not that into fashion but definitely appreciate the effort these companies are doing to make quality products with added fun. I am checking all these brands! So amazing to see there are people, thinking about what comes into making clothing and who's suffering for our 10 EUR shirts. Kudos to them all. I hope our malls will introduce their products for the wider audience.

Thanks for making these videos, Erin. I know these companies are often not happy to be named "ethical", so it is important to point out the importance of sustainability in fashion. Good job to include the links, too!

Thank you! Yeah it's really unfortunate, I wanted to focus on positive stories in these videos but there definitely are a lot of challenges these brands face, hopefully with more awareness though "ethical" will become normal :)

I lived in Syria, Syrians are very industrious, they usually had their family businesses or manufactures so it is so heartwarming to see people being able to be people again - use their skills in something that is good.

I have my first beaumont piece and in the same shop they offered vegan sustainable shoes by a brand called "good guys" which are nicely made and both brands are timeless everyday fashion

This was so amazing to watch. Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough, or just not in the right region (Florida) but it seems like there aren't a lot of sustainable brands or it isn't as much of a priority in the United States.

SO interesting! I wish we would have cool companies like that in Sweden. At least there is "Neutral" in Denmark- they are fair trade certified and make organic basic clothing.

Filippa K and Deadwood are great Swedish brands! I believe Nudie Jeans is from Sweden too :) Sharewear (www.sharewear.se/ ) is also a really cool concept.

This is a really fantastic video Erin! Thank you so much for sharing. I have a few pieces on my "to find" list for summertime and am trying to seek out more conscious brands to purchase from. It seems like Europe/UK has a far greater selection than Canada though... I will look back at some of your older videos as I know you list a few places to start looking. I just don't want to end up looking like I am wearing a burlap sack or something... I find it really challenging to find pieces that marry ethical production with more "modern" flare. The hunt continues...

Thank you! I was just going to link you to a great Canadian eco-fashion online store but they've apparently closed down 😢 It's difficult in Canada, there unfortunately isn't much of a market. Two other stores that I know of though are New Classics newclassics.ca/, and AllTRUEist www.alltrueist.com/ Also try searching for small brands/designers in your city, there are people doing really cool things but they can be hard to find.

i really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing. reusing plastic/car tyres etc does concern me though, from the perspective of long term health ramifications from wearing these products against your skin. it just makes me wonder. i appreciate the concept of reusing though.

:D I'm not sure about trade shows, but there is Eco Fashion Week which happens in Vancouver and I think maybe also Seattle now. They have runway shows featuring sustainable brands and some great panels/speakers.
