LOL! I watched the video in entirety. Found your info very useful. I predicted my loud pump was the result of bad bearings. Thanks for confirming!

Any idea why my impeller (idk if that's what the spinny thing is called) would be hitting against something? When i turn it on I get the rock grinding sound. When I took it apart I see the spinny thing has some minor wear & tare the noise comes from it hitting against the part that it connects to. Could I have lost a spacer or something? This prolly makes no sense because I have no idea what these parts are called but I'm desperate to fix this pump =(

Great vid, you see a lot of people from trashing their pump motor, and buying a new one. They don't realize there is a cheaper fix. Motor repair shops can solve the problem cheaper than buying a new pump motor. Thank you.

You fixed my noisy pump! I always keep the skimmer baskets clean, but one became unseated and sucked in a bunch of leaves and other tree debris into the pump basket. Cleaned that out, and it's about 90 percent quieter. No exaggeration. It took me longer to write this comment with my thumbs than it took to fix the pump. Thanks!

I made it to the end. I think I just have a loud pump. It was loud on day one. Loud on cement or grass. I put it in a box and it was still annoyingly loud. I'm going to check your list of quieter pumps. Good video, I clicked the like button.

Yes I did stay to the end. Some of the early stuff was just normal maintenance stuff that people "should" be aware of - at least we would hope so. The the A-frame idea sounds like a winner for my situation. My hayward pump is not so loud, it is in a shed at the back of our small garden, but I'm worried about the noise upsetting the neighbors, so a little extra sound proofing should do the trick.

Stay to the end very informative advice. I'm quite sure the bearings on my every built pool pump was failing within a year and half after purchasing from my local Home Depot store. The problem seemed to be from a very poorly design pump cover. The outer black locking lid seemed to made from a very poorly structured plastic. The ring seemed to move sometimes when the pump shut off creating water leakage. Note the o-ring could have played a part leakage of water with sealing and pressure. Thus making the pump work inffentent and causing over heating. Eventually creating damage to the bearings. Ever Built pool pump didn't covered the pump warranty because it was a month out off the coverage date. Warranty almost always works in favor of the manufacturer..👌

Thanks, we have a very noisy pool pump next door and we traced one key noise source as the outlet pipe. The pump itself is on acoustic pads but the outlet pipe was shaking the entire shed the pump was situated in: creating a loudspeaker! I braced this against something and it reduced the noise a lot. I know somebody who is an acoustic engineer and he was shocked that it wasn't fitted via a flexible pipe (maybe this is a particular problem because the pipe is very short and then connects firmly to the shed wall, thus creating a 6 foot by 12 foot speaker cone!) But he knows nothing about pool pumps - maybe fitting a short piece of flexible pipe would help isolate noise???
@websanityseo
@websanityseo 2 месяца назад
PS. I got to the end of the video :-) One tip is that ONE of the pool pump pipes also ran through the wall of the shed that it was in but with no clearance and thus, again, vibrating pipe made vibrating side wall to shed. I cut around the pipe so there was clearance to not touch the side of the shed at all and you could feel the difference from the shed wall not vibrating... AND a reduction in annoying low level, low frequency sound that is a bad nuisance for us (it's not our pool, it's our neighbours - yet I am having to try to reduce the noise from it so we can use our garden :-()

Stayed till the end. Water fill and both baskets are always my default moves but this time the noise persisted. It just happened overnight so I’m suspicious of it being a clog. I’ve already checked for a clog but it was with a long wire bristled brush so I plan to go back in with a plastic drain declogging tool and spin that around a bit. I think I’ll check to see if it’s a vibrational issue first though. My husband put his hand on the pump for 30 seconds earlier today and said it was the bearings going out 👀 It’ll be funny (or not so funny 😞) if it turns out he was right. Thanks for all the info., that was a big help!

Filter cleaned. I put more water in . I’ll check impeller next. The hurricane dropped my cage and screen in my pool. It could have hampered the impeller with screen . Then I’ll check bearings. How ?

If you replace your bearings you can carefully remove the seals on each side of the new bearings. Blow the grease out with compressed air. Wipe synthetic grease filling one side of the bearings and cage. Install the seals and install in the pump. OE bearings rarely if ever use this grease and it's far superior.

I watched till the end but I usually just buy a new one so it can last another 2 to three years maybe less cause we have our pump running 24/7 so it’s actually a lot longer and older my pumps by run time by that I mean running time. Some people have timers and only run there pumps half the day or only 4 hours or 8. Everyone’s different. We have a lot of traffic here like people swimming here everyday me and my family but the rain make it dirty also all that makes ur swimming pool dirty and then you need more running time I don’t know jk I do. But if you don’t have no trees also I notice ur swimming pools stays cleaner for a longer time. Our in ground swimming pool get dirty quick if we don’t maintain it. Like three to four days with no chemicals or at least a week maybe sometimes and it will get dirty really quick. But we usually check it, I usually check it everyday lol. I don’t have much to do and I like to be outside showing off to my neighbors that I’m outside cleaning my in ground swimming pool . With my terminator prosthetic foot lol. I love my life I hope COVID-19 goes away and I’m sorry for that Floyd guy may you Rest In Peace plz people get over it yes it was a bad thing and yes those or one cop is going to prison for that. I love everyone.

Then I was pleased to find that the pump still works. But I think it is noisier than before. Do you think I may have got some water in the bearings or somewhere else?
