I think what everyone who is saying "i've been playing for x amount of years and I'm not even close" has to remember is that Shutian aspires to be a concert pianist, and therefore more than likely eats, breathes, and sleeps piano. His playing is MASSIVELY impressive, especially for his age, but it has undoubtedly come from years of constant, focused dedication. Thus no one should be discouraged by this video; instead, it should be seen as a testament to focus, dedication, and a deep respect and appreciation for the craft. Try not to compare it to your own skill or ability. Instead, simply enjoy.

LOL All Liszt pieces I learned (or tried to learn) are in this liszt. My personal opinion: Liebestraum: I casually learned it before I had adequate skill. The musicality is harder than the technique. La Campanella: I learned all the notes but struggle at technique. I couldn't feel free to express my musical idea. Hungarian Rhapsody 2: Personally I think it is easier than La Campanella. Though I can't play all the notes correctly, I have an easier time trying different musical ideas than LC. Spanish Rhapsody: I like listening to it so much! Gave up at the triplet chord chromatic section

@JimSmithOfficial 3 года назад
@@allthingspiano5705 those are a totally different set of etudes "which la campanella was never part of" the transcendental etudes only had 3 versions, ones made in 1826 "Etudes en Douze Exercises S.136", then the revisions made in what is thought to be 1837 "Douze Grandes Etudes S.137", and the final version, which was published in 1852 "Études d'exécution transcendante S.139". the transcendental etudes are not the same as the paganini etudes. maybe you should actually listen to the transcendental etudes before you assume?
