He did, Ubisoft didn't know what the hell they were doing with his character so they threw him away. There's no way in hell his eagle vision wouldn't have seen her as a traitor. Originally she was killed off because desmond wasn't meant to be the assassin that saves the day, he was gonna be the father of the assassin that saves the world. As evidenced by the subject 16 encounter when he talks about the garden of eden, eve, and his son. But to do that he needed to have a child with Eve, Lucy was in the way, because desmond had feelings for her. Then they were gonna pull a harry potter switch-a-roo by having part of 16 die instead of him in the 3rd. Hence why 16 grabbed him and his hand was glowing at the end of revelations. But when they got to the third, they just said F it, killed him off and called it a day. Which is why I stopped playing assassins creed.
When I saw Dragon Age: Origins I assumed it was Tamlen. If you (like me) played a female Dalish elf you could flirt with him, and if you did it was hinted you were together. Then he got infected with the Blight (damn it Tamlen), then presumed dead. *Then* he showed up bald and sick and you had to kill him yourself. So, yeah. That's rough, buddy.
What about Tamlen from Dragon Age Origins!?! Finding him as a ghoul and having to stab him after he confesses his love for you is heartbreaking. I romanced Zevran after that but it wasn't the same.
Plus the fact that you can still be flirty with Tamlen before he gets all ghoulish. Pretty much draws up they like each other then BOOM he's gone, you're a warden, then finally he returns and wants you to kill him while also saying he had a thing for you.
How about 8 Videogame Villans we'd like to be friends with. Example Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2. Because in Broderlands the Pre-Sequel he offers his friends a huge Mansion build out of smaller but still impressively big Mansions
In Dragon Age Origins the Dalish intro I feel was also a tragic love story. You and Tamlen strole through the woods flirting, but then he goes missing until much later in the game (after you are in a romance with another character) when it turns out he was dying of the blight and he confesses his love for you all along before kicking it right in front of you. The Tamlen story always gets me in the feels
SPOILERS! Does Josh Washington from Until Dawn count? I mean, I know he goes a bit... very far off the rails towards the end of the game, but he did have seem to have a thing for Sam(he did put candles out for her), and Sam said she felt they had a connection at the end.
I hated that walking dead game, for spoilers reasons > No matter what choices you make throughout the entire game, it doesn't affect who is left alive at the end, if you save anyone who isn't one of those special people, they'll just get killed at a later point anyway is a way you can't prevent.

I mean you can get dialogue that implies you're together - oooh secret lovers - but then (SPOILERS) you get forced apart, and later find him on the surface, happily married and selling fine Dwarven wares from Orzammar!

Maybe you would be more attached to real girls if Suzie the accountant from that town you've never heard of was more interesting than Morrigan, Liara or Lara Croft. On the other hand I'm just as uninteresting as Suzie is; that is even sadder.
Final fantasy x could have been good to as Yuna's journey is either: 1) continue and be killed by the final summoning which would kill her and one of her guardians and sin would still come back and people would continue to suffer. Or 2) give up and be seen as a quitter especially since her father was last one to temporarily vanquish sin and feel guilty She then managed to not only save her own life, her guardians and Spira and vanquish Sin permanently and she then lose the man she has fell in love with

Until the first time I replayed after my grandpa died and realised, oh shit Cloud's last words to Zack are the same as mine to Papa! T^T
BloodyButterfly Maybe it works differently for you and even other people, but for me, knowing it was going to happen was exactly what prevented it from being sad. I knew it was going to happen, therefor when it finally did happen, no matter how tearjerky and emotional they tried to make it, I couldn't be sad about it because I already knew it was coming. I was emotionally guarded against it, you might say.
The human warden had a similar love interest beginning in dragon age origins, which my warden always went into extra effort to screw up just to annoy a bunch of poncy noble types. Dragon age Origins was so good, shame they never made any sequels.
To be fair, you possibly get to canoodle the early love interest as a Human Noble. Though there's also Tamlen for a female Dalish, and Jowan for a female Mage. Lots of poor potential early-game romance options...

I have a suggestion for a 7 times video: You know those small cutscenes in games that you see all of the time in games, like save points, eating animations, and such. What about the times where at a random moment a game throws you for a loop in on of thoseFor example: In Mad Max, while in the buzzard filled airport, you come up to a water refill point, but while you fill your canteen you see a buzzard moving around you from behind, scaring the ever living crap out of me.

Though I'm not sure how much you're into smoochin' crusty hollowed lips, unless you do some _naughty_ things at the graveyard every now and then -- which in that case -- I don't need to know...
