Just to let you know. Wd40 decompose your plastic material. Use it only for cleaning. Then add synthetic grease after.

Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad it was helpful! I'll recommend to go step by step if it's your first electric skateboard. This board will provide a lot of power, so helmet and pads on and take it easy 😉 Enjoy your rides!

Awesome vid & many thanks man, I use this as a reference for maintaining my BC2 DD all the time :D would love it you can do another like it for the belt drive (even though there are others out there), just so it's a nice set of vids for Onsra users (though this is awesome anyway, so few Direct drive maintenance vids out there in general).
@simpkahn

One thing I added (that has helped me) was also lubricating the piviot cups (as some squeeks came from there too for me)
@itsmatt3627
@itsmatt3627 3 года назад
No problem, I'm glad it helps some BC2 users! Direct Drive maintenance is pretty easy, really not too much to do. But yeah Belt drive maintenance could be another idea! Grease on the pivot cup is definitely needed too when you have this annoying noise! Thanks for your feedback and enjoy your rides ✌🏻

I want one but I kind of wish they made a direct drive version with big AT wheels like 6-7inches.
@itsmatt3627
@itsmatt3627 3 года назад
Hey Michael, on DD you would loose too much torque and acceleration with the AT wheels. This is why there is the belt drive version and the new motors on the belt version are not that loud to be honest. Still louder than the DD though, but definitely less than the BC1!

So, DD or Belt? DD: + quieter (although it says the big motors on this BC2 don't make the belt version to loud anymore anyways) + looks a bit better I think Belt: + more flexibility with changing gear ratio, thus better adaptable for different wheel sizes, especially the bigger AT wheels + more ground clearance. Better for offroad situations and rough terrain. My personal use case is that I mostly want to go carving on streets. I would probably go with the comfy 115mm rubber wheels. So, I guess, for this the DD should be just fine. The belt drive I would just consider as a more versatile option, in case I want to get more into offroad skating Whould you get the DD again or choose a belt for your next board?
@itsmatt3627
@itsmatt3627 2 года назад
Hey mate, thanks for your comment, I would go for a belt for being able to put any wheels that I want. Maintenance isn't that much more complicated compare to the DD too. DD is cool because it doesn't make any noise at all but with those low motors, they get scratched a lot.. So belt !
@brokenxray

I'm debating between direct drive or belt drive. Is that common to see all the dings on your motor with direct? I
@itsmatt3627
@itsmatt3627 2 года назад
The motors are pretty low so you'll hit them anyway. But a quick pen touch and that will do it. Depends on what you really want. Being able to have a board versatile that can handle wheels from 80 to 170mm : go for the belt. Having a stealthy board that doesn't make any noise at all and have a furtive ride, go for the DD!

I thought hub motors and direct drives were low maintenance boards. How often would I have to do all of that?
@itsmatt3627
@itsmatt3627 2 года назад
It depends on how long you want to keep the board in good condition. All this big maintenance I do 3 times in a year. But in between, you can clean your deck often, take care of the bearings with the dust, etc.. At the end, the more often you will do it, the longer you will have your board in good condition!
@jaredb9523
@jaredb9523 2 года назад
You'd be fine to never do it.. nothing's gonna break actually it's More likly it breaks if u do take every screw out and clean everything. Little dust on ur board ain't gonna break it this is for like those technical guys that love to take things apart and put them back together and have everything perfectly clean but not a must do

4:30 Same adaptor for cloud wheel? this board compatible with A/T wheels?
@itsmatt3627
@itsmatt3627 2 года назад
Cloudwheels work with ABEC adaptor, not the same than 115mm Rubbers which works with KEGEL adaptor. Direct Drive isn't compatible with AT wheels unfortunately.. If you wanna ride offroad, I'll recommend you to get the belt drive!

WD40 is not a lubricant. It has some lubricating properties, but they are very poor, nothing like a true grease. WD is designed to remove rust and corrosion primarily. Use grease on the bearings.

Salut Matt.

Bons rides ✌🏻

Use WD40 'contact cleaner' NOT standard WD40...
@itsmatt3627
@itsmatt3627 3 года назад
okay thanks for the tip! Always used this one and got no problem for now, but maybe would be good to use the contact cleaner one!
