Defensive highlights are most exciting when it’s a small player 😅. And the fact that most of these plays actually lead to buckets is great. Glad to have GPII back, a true gem
One of the main reasons we'll be winning our 5th chip this season. GP2 is a championship level player. He should've never left the dubs, so glad he's back.
@@bdawg2690yea gsw is winning this year, especially when we can load management players w 3 two way players this year. we have 3 bigs who play different styles already on our team. gsw need to add more size for the last spot.
Young folks should really watch this and understand how an excellent defender think. I spent half an hour watching this video and got so many insights on how GP2 timed his steal attempts, how he forced a side to lead to a block, how he read passes. Really nice stuff here
Ever letting him go was a huge mistake. The Dubs have made their dynasty on having the top defense in the league year after year. Led, of course, by future hall of famer Draymond Green, but rotation players like GP2 have been instrumental in establishing that perennial defense.
i literally love when the little guys are mismatched on the big , the guards they start jamming em up, getting up under em and then they get the swipe down steal 😩 Jesus that’s my favorite type of defensive play to watch. Pat Bev, Jrue Holiday type stuff.
2 plays before that GPII hurt his shin(leg) by knocking it against one of the court side seats and was walking funny afterwards that's why he said his shin seems fine
There's just something so awe inspiring to me about short guards playing tough defense. Guess that's why Muggsy Bogues and Gary Payton are my favorites.
Gp2 is my favorite player who plays with heart with all that's in him he's always smiling he's great what's nice singing Back in the lineup rock on Gary Payton II you rock
I think it was more that he is a unique type of player that teams didn't think could work out. They saw a 6'3" dude without a great shot and without great handles and thought he would be dead weight on the offensive end. The NBA is pretty close-minded about what works and what doesn't with little experimentation. GP2 still doesn't get enough credit for his offensive efficiency being right up there with 7 footers who do nothing but dunk the ball.
Seeing GPII block and steal from Joker is Gold 😂. Hes one the most likeable NBA players along with Steven Adams, Klay, Curry, Giannis and personally Richard Jefferson 😂😂😂 the dude is funny haha soo i cant leave em out haha
GP2 picks the dribble off the point guard when it is on the return to his hand. That's the time that the handler has no control on the ball's trajectory (unless its CP3, Steph, or Trey). If the handler is not in position to protect the ball once it bounces off the court... GP2 is going to tap it out! Incredible defensive intelligence.

I've always liked Donte Divincenzo, but now Gp2 will have more playing time and is healthier!! Saric is going to be the Otto/bjelica we have been missing! Cp3, I never liked him, but I understand he has few turnovers and is a great mid range shooter!! Sloppy Poole with 252 turnovers last year, good riddens!! Poole got what he deserved, non playoff team!! I'm betting my money on the Warrior's 5th Championship!! Doubt Curry, ok, we'll see.
The Front office really fucked up the 2022 off season. Overpaying Poole and remove all the savy veterans presence from the bench. That's a Wasted season for No reason. a Real Shame Hopefully we'll have Healthy Klay And GPII this season.
Seemed like the celebrating last year went a bit haywire if you ask me 😂🤦🏽♂️ Bob was probably still drunk asf from Game 6 when he thought about givin’ Poole over 100 million ‘til 2026 lol
Bob so friendly with the core didn't want the break up convo. Good enough Steph chose Dray over Poole. We wasted a roster spot on Iggy though. Guess he was supposed to stabilize the Locker room but wasn't there for the punch. Lessons learned. Let's go get it now
@@all4him126 That's Not "Lesson Learned" you get Time Back. Especially on Aging Athletes. They treated Poole like A Super Star which validated his cockyness and Big mouth For No reason. the constant need to shoot the Technical Free Throw Over Steph was a Good indication of his Toxicity.
@@juliusperseus8612 he was supposed to take a cue from the system's superstar, Steph, like even all the vets do. Unfortunately he got paid& suddenly discovered he knew better than Kerr and Steph. Messed up the locker room and almost took jk along. Still lessons learned. Locker room cohesion was a major factor for the new pieces
Look at his hands ! OGs always make me laugh when they say they needa bring back handchecking , all the best defenders today handcheck . If you need more proof look at Kawhi defenseive highlights
