Very beautiful,but the takedown is the problem

I did this style on my 2 girls, I retouched it last weekend at 6 weeks, I shampoo their hair every 3 weeks and use hair serum to oil their scalp twice a week. I hope for my kids to keep this style for 3 months. I am going to change the braid type but I am not going to undo the base of it because its a genius method for protective styling. I will undo my kids hair after one year so as to minimize manipulating their hair and retain length. Undoing is easy add conditioner, oil and glycerine to warm water and spray it everyday for 2-3days before undoing 2 times a day. I used the same method to undo my natural hair crochet locs that I had had for over 2 yrs, i did not cut my hair at all.

I would suggests plaiting three strand on the root (using your own hair). Two strand on the shaft (own natural hair) and securing the ends with curls (extensions). Healthier for the hair and it should last a while.

This is beautiful but knotting my own hair at the root is problematic. You can’t get that out unless you know something we don’t. Unless it’s meant to be locks or something permanent. I would love to see how this is taken down and you still have a strand of hair.
