Really liking what I see out of certain mystery cars over the last few years. It seems there are always 1 or 2 that shine. Love seeing your F1 Racer! Great session Dale.
Regarding the timer; when I first watched your channel the timer worked perfectly. So important for close races. Maybe change it back? to the way it was; when it was 100% reliable. Great episode.
Yeah it can be frustrating… reason I do not is that I am a mad scientist and want to figure this out. Plus, I want consistent starts which the solenoid gives everytime, when I use the pull cord there can be a variation in time thus is why I was using biggest beats instead of overall time. I do not want to go back to all the math. I have a few more options to explore like moving the solenoid further from the starting switch or rewiring the timer in a way the signal does not get disrupted by the stray magnetism. It will get fixed just wish I had more time to put into it besides the hour or two I get to race per week.
Its good to see you race cars that are usually overlooked on the pegs. I grabbed a Flippy Car, worked the wheels etc and its still quite slow 😂 However, when the nephews play with it, its a favourite as it always lands on its wheels no matter how rough they are with it
Great eaces there Dale, nothing wrong with more apeed in the lightweights and a slow skyline to mod! Good luck, working on some projects for your Ball.
I like your races. I'm not a hardcore speed seeker . I pretty much do all my racing with unworked cars. But i do enjoy seeing the results of cars that have been worked up. I would have thought that the X Racers set would have produced better speed. Unworked they are usually pretty competitive, especially the train. Maybe those wheels dont respond so well to graphite? I dunno. Also those mystery packs are a pain to search thru, but there's a lot of nice cars in them, even the non special-ones. I try to get one of everything when i can. Anyway, i'm just a-yammerin' on . Thanks for the races. Thumbs up from me.
Appreciate the kind words. When I first started, I had no idea how lube would affect different cars. A little lube can change how a car runs dramatically. But I understand running them as is as well. I agree on those Mystery packs, they get picked over in my area but they do have some good looking cars in them.
@@dxpdiecastracing I built mine from an Arduino kit off Amazon and a few bits from Lowes. Building your own is definitely the way to go. You got to understand it and know what to do if something goes wrong or at least know how to find the fault. I started with a string activation and upgraded from there. Keep up the great vids :).
@@pauly985I did the same. Custom built out of aluminum. Has a Don Boomershine Audrino timer system. All built specifically for my track. I am trying to fix all these little problems I am having. I will either move the solenoid further away from the switch or rewire the timer to start off the switch of the solenoid.
I enjoy fantasy car racing so keep them coming. Just a question about 8 packs. Here in my area in northern England only seen them in one supermarket. Oddly they cost more than a 10 pack. Is it the same in the US?
You should try to race the flippin fast with the orange side down... The orange side is the metal side and it goes faster that way... At least for me it does.
"Don't know what that is" is Sling Shot. Famous for the Highway 35 racers. Used to be all metal. It could still be one of the fastest cars from that pack. Group C Fantasy should be another great track car though I hate that unimaginative name they gave it. That X-Raycer 5 pack is pure fire. A couple of classics are in that pack. Nerve hammer , Electro Silhouette. I've seen Cosmic Coupe and Draftnator also do pretty good on the track.
@@dxpdiecastracing The changes Mattel makes to the older castings will either help them on the track or ruin their performance. That new Sling Shot does well on boosters, loops and curves, but stinks on downhill racing.
They are not typically the cars that win races or have a ton of speed. I race them because they are what are easily found and not everybody looks for the higher end fast cars. I patterned this channel after Red Pill and he raced everything. I hope some of the people watching just enjoy the racing no matter if it’s a $1.25 car or a $30 harder to find model.
race 1: Exactly the same F1Racer v.s. another. I choose red. nailed it. race 2: Nerve Hammer nailed it. race 3: Group C Fantasy whom I renamed "Fantazer" nailed it. race 4: Cosmic Coupe nailed it. race 5: Loco-Motorin' nailed it. race 6: Mod Rod nailed it. Electrack would have beet it with better wheels. race 7: Draftnator first loss. race 8: Love Drift N' Break, but those track 5 won't help it. I choose Sling Shot. damn, should have gone with Drift N' Break since it is my favorite new casting of 2024 so far. race 1: Group C Fantasy nailed it. race 2: Nerve Hammer damn Mod Rod is fast. race 3: Cosmic Coupe damn. race 4: Loco Motorin' great for downhill racing. could be tonight's overall winner? race 1: Group C Fantazer naile it. race 2: Loco Motorin' damn. last race: Group C Fantasy yes!!!!
