None of the dermatologists I went to recommended me to use cream tretinoin and since I discovered it thanks to your videos the texture of my skin has changed significantly, thank you very much 😊
How long did Tretinoin take to fade ur dark spots and freckles? I’ve been on it 7 months and it brought out more dark spots so I’m hoping they will fade still. By watching ur other videos I am putting on peptides serum before Tretinoin at night. I don’t have copper peptide one. I have Paula’s choice peptides and the ordinary buffet. I leave it on for 20 mins then use Tretinoin 0.05
It has taken me three years to fade the dark spots on my cheeks 😮 with Tretinoin. It did bring out dark spots on my skin. I must’ve had dark spots under the surface. Physically exfoliating once or twice a week has really helped fade the spots. And sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen is the best thing to fade them
@@EnvyBlu thank you, I thought they must have been under the skin. I’ll continue with it if it took u 3 years. I only have one faint wrinkle which I hope it helps with that in time. I’m 47. I wear sunscreen every day now.
I have been using Tretinoin just over 4 years now and I still have freckles. It has lightened them but Sunscreen everyday is so important to keep them faded and to prevent them from getting darker. In the summer, it doesn't matter how much sunscreen I apply, my freckles are way more prominent so I just embrace them. Post Acne marks though, I find Tretinoin has faded those within a week of having a pimple. You may want to try and apply Azelaic Acid with Tretinoin and see if that helps. Ever since I started using Azelaic Acid with Tretinoin my skin is much brighter.
Great video, I live in Montreal my pharmacist told me that Stieva is not discontinued but, in backordered, she insisted on that. maybe she is mistaken but, who knows. Enjoy your day
Hmmm I know the 1% is backordered here in Ontario and they told me it's been on backorder for a long time so they assumed it would also be discontinued along with the other percents.. Hopefully you can still get Stieva-A and if not, a different brand name is just as good👍🏻
I'm guessing you're using the sandwich method, not using it every day and/or using low concentrations? All this RU-vidr advice is causing people to not use Tretinoin effectively.
I have freckles and Tretinoin hasn't removed mine. Wearing sunscreen daily will help prevent the freckles from getting darker. I have learned to embrace them as they can be very difficult to get rid of completely.
Your videos are so helpful as I navigate the retinal journey. I’ve been using Medik8 1.0 retinal for more than a year a few times a week without irritation. I recently purchased the new ordinary 2.0 retinal. Can I alternate between the two?
I use the Medik8 too and recently bought the new ordinary 0.2 retinal. I asked the ordinary on one of their videos if I could still use my Medik8 on the other nights I don't use the ordinary, they said I probably shouldn't. But I'm only using the ordinary 0.2 retinal once a week, so a couple of nights after I use that, I use my Medik8. I haven't had any issues. But I do wait a couple of nights after the 0.2. But also I'm not using my Medik8 every night now either, and I don't use it 2 nights prior to using the retinal 0.2 . Just incase I over do it on my skin. Once I run out of the Medik8, I should be able to be using the ordinary twice a week.
Thank you so much for this. It sounds very much like my routine. I did try the new ordinary 2.0 a few nights after my Medik8 and all was well. I think as you say leaving enough nights in between use is important. I had emailed Deciem but haven’t heard back so this is very helpful. Thanks again.
You may want to talk to your Dermatologist or family doctor if Tretinoin isn't clearing up your Acne. You may need to use something else or in addition depending on how severe the acne is but in general, Tretinoin can treat acne.
I wanted to add a suggestion that it is good wash your hands after applying your high strength retinoids. Especially before putting on an eye serum or cream. I accidentally did not wash my hands after handling TO’s .02% retinal and then put on an eye serum. My eyelids did not tolerate even that small amount and are taking more than a week to heal.
OH MY GOSH YES! I mentioned this in a past video as I encountered the same thing with my eyelids but also my lips. I forgot to wash my hands and had put Aquaphor on my lips. You can imagine that state of my lips after that 😭
I have tried Tretenoin so many times over the last two years and no matter what I do even one day a week I cannot get through the horrendous side effects of dryness and wrinkles that come with using it. It's actually scary because you keep hearing if you just allow it to work you will have that glass skin, but does that mean I have to look like I'm 95 for a year?
I was so red that people were asking me if I got a sunburn and my skin was flaking and dry for a month. I didn't stop using it though and pushed through it. After a month, my skin got used to it and now I have zero problems. It helps to slug and moisturize multiple times a day. Have a nice essence mist around and spray it over your face every couple of hours. Holika Holika Redness Calming CICA balm is awesome for calming the skin too. I also don't wash my face twice a day and use a gentle oil cleanser. I change my pillowcase every two nights and I shower/wash my face before bed. Then Retinol and a heavy night cream like Purito Sleeping Pack. In the morning I just add a moisturizing toner, then sunscreen. No pain, no gain :)
Aw I am so sorry to hear that. Tretinoin can take a while to adjust for some skin types. What strength are you using? It's nice to start with a low strength and then up it depending on how your skin tolerates to it to try and eliminate the dryness as much as possible. I have been using Tretinoin over 4 years now and I still experience flakiness on my chin, nose and in-between my eyes at times if that makes you feel any better🤪
Is it normal for tret to be kind of touch and go? Ive built up over the last few months to nightly application and I've had to back off because my skin broke out mildly. I've never had a horrible reaction, even with my .1 tazarotene. My skin is so, so much glassier and smoother but I've had to go back to once or twice a week again. Is this normal? Will it eventually just click where i can do it nightly? Anyone else experience this? Thanks! Love your vids!!
Yeah I would say this is common as I have also experienced this many times before. It's weird how it happens but I also think weather and the other types of products we use in a week can play a factor as well. I believe you will be able to up your usage again once your skin isn't so sensitive.
My forehead wrinkles still same an 11. What am I doing wrong im using tretinoin 4 tjmes a week been over a year. Face very dry been moisturiser very well
I love love Tretinoin! They will have to pry it from my cold dead hands lol 😂. I don’t go one night without using my Tret. I suffered from severe acne years ago so I got Tret. I was a crazy person and started right out with 1% every night, from day one 😂 because I was so desperate to get rid of my acne. Surprisingly I didn’t have much redness. I just had a little redness on my chin area but that only lasted like 4-5 days and my skin acclimated to it quickly, and I’ve been using it daily since. I do get so annoyed with not being able to use stuff on my neck. It’s so sensitive! I can’t even touch my neck hours after I apply my Tret or my neck will turn beet red. Maybe I’ll try that Odinary Retinal on my neck
Thanks for this review. I am guilty of wanting results immediately. I am guilty of if I’m not peeling then it’s not working. Thanks for the pep talk to be patient. ❤
Enjoyed the video very much. You can never be reminded too much and you do a wonderful job. My question: I've been using Tretinoin.1 for quite a while it seems like it has stopped working. I started originally with accutane. Can I alternate days between the two? I don't know how to increase my Tretinoin or if I really want to. Thanks renny help you can supply.
I am so happy you enjoyed the video and thank you for your kind words💗 I don't know too much about Accutane, especially paired with other medications like Tretinoin. I would definitely have a chat with your dermatologist about this and see what they would suggest. You may want to increase your strength of Tretinoin but of course this would be something to ask a professional about.
Thank you for this review. I am using tretinoin for almost a year, and my skin in the nasal folds still peeling like a snake every day. So frustrated. This is the only area that doesn’t accept the tretinoin well.
This can be common... I still experience dryness on my chin, around my nose and between my brows and have been using Tret over 4 years. Hoping one day the flakiness will stop lol. Instead of putting Tretinoin on the fold area, apply Tret everywhere else except that area and then when you go and put moisturizer on top of Tret smudge the Tret/moisturizer onto the nasal folds. This may help eliminate dryness.
