Mine is the notification as well Dion! Its always convenient to see whats pop up with ur mobile phone without even opening it out and just by looking at your wrist 😊 specially when youre on the road or doing something.
As someone who had no idea what the apple watch is useful for, after watching 10mn of your video I still have none. You’re pointing out differences, the title is misleading
It’s not useful at all as if you are running or need an actual sports watch, you are better served with a Garmin. If you only need the health monitoring, Whoop. Notifications on your wrist is useless when the phone is right there! 😂😂😂 At least the Apple TV has a nice remote. The Apple watch is most likely the most useless Apple product.
Hola Dion! Thank you for another great video! Loving my 40mm SE 2 with cellular. Went out skiing with it my bluetooth headphones and the snoww activity tracking app on and the battery did quite good even without any of the low power mode features activated. Be well!
@dvirfish3r Notifications are in my opinion the 1# reason to get an apple watch it doesn’t distract you like a notification from an iphone and how it seamlessly taps you on the wrist without making any noise really is the best way to be notified about things
I have an Apple Watch Series 4 since 4 years or so and its working beautifully fine Ill use it till i break it or it dies and then I watch out for another one, dont know which it will be yet
Yes, I would do it. I know there are conspiracies around that Apple through updates would lead to an earlier end of your device. I do not believe in this, there are other ways to do this :). Updates also lead to the new security patches
I have a Garmin vivo active 4, but I'm considering switching to an Apple Watch and I'm eyeing the SE. As I don't need the always on display being a bright spot in my peripheral vision. And my experience that wrist based blood oxygen scans with the vivoactive 4 are wildly inaccurate. I'll use a cheap finger blood oxygen scanner instead.
Nice video but I am still not convinced that I need the watch. I have the iPad, iPhone, MacBook and desktop. I am sure the watch is a great choice for some. 🤔 Just cannot find the need for me.
@ansk0825 I have been wearing the Apple Watch everyday for past 5 years, it has been an integral part of my life since then, i have been standing more to achieve the stand target, working out more and overall my health has been way better. Before the Apple Watch i used a sony band which was also good but the Apple Watch has taken the notifications game to the next level.
@unclebxbby I been planning on buying an apple watch but it felt like a waste of money now am with my girlfriend might serious consider for the alarm great vid by the way
@_jakimovskasara_ Hello Dion! Thank you for the amazing comparison! Which one would you recommend for a student and also a first time Apple Watch user?
@johnmellardtabuga I love WATCHing your videos. I really like that Apple is really making things nowadays very easy and light it just like you have a phone on your wrist. Love it. ❤❤
Looking forward to upgrading my apple watch. I really like the keyboard feature with the new apple watches for replying to your messages without using your phon. I hope apple bring that feature to apple watch se as well @eloysuuuh
Great video, Dion. I started using the Apple Watch a few months ago, and it's remarkable how much I can do without having to take my phone out of my pocket. My favourite feature is the live notifications, but I think the SE should include a keyboard for easier responses on the go. - @theikjn.
Thank you for your clear, concise explanations, would be a great leap ahead to try an iPhone 14 ,taking calls on Apple Watch /phone would be such convenience .@boatie6
My favorite thing about the Apple Watch is the media player. Whether Spotify or Apple Music. I use to work at an office which prohibits phone usage so I use my watch to play a podcast or music. Super convenient
Apple ecosystem never disappoints. I bought Series 7 at Christmas 2 years ago as my first Apple Watch and I love it. Gonna stay with Series 7 until it dies.
@@the_styler1 It's pretty good actually cuz i'm charging it almost everyday, it has 95% battery health rn. Literally the same Apple watch as S8 with only 2 new features which are the crash detection and the temperature sensor. If it's in the same price range go for the S8. Otherwise if u don't need any of these go for S7.
@@smoke6434 my series 3 just died today while working for almost 6 years (since it came out). And I just ordered the series 8 (I was gonna get the series7 cause it’s basically the same thing but cheaper but I couldn’t find one) and I had 0 issues rocking it until it died. You should easily be able to do it and I’ll do the same
SE 2 workaround for Always On display: if you enable Wake on Crown Rotation, you can just toggle the crown to quickly peek at the clock. No need to spend more money on the S8, and no additional drain on the battery.
That’s not a workaround at all.. because then display is still not always on 😂 Also, raise to wake works so well, there is really no need to use your other hand.
I never realized how valuable an Apple Watch could be until I got a cellular Series 5 in December 2019. This was a game changer for me, I could go for walks or runs listening to music without carrying a heavy phone. I’m still using the same watch today, never felt the need to upgrade. It’s at 84 percent battery health, still enough for me.
I agree the Apple Watch cellular is a valuable device. I started with the Series 3 before the screen got smashed. Then i had the Series 5. Now i have the Ultra. It’s definitely a game changer with the GPS + Cellular models. I mountain bike. I take my iPhone with me on my rides, i put it in a handy holster.
Very detailed video as always. I never owned any apple products but was very useful watching this video for future purposes. The Longvadon wristbands definitely a cop as the different colors basically set your look how or a switch up ❤.
@bjrmanucduc I've been a Samsung user for decades but I've been considering switching to Apple and getting the 14 Pro for my next phone. I was a bit hesitant to get an Apple Watch too but your breakdown is so clear and convincing. When I get a chance on the Series 8, it'll be because of you!
@@DionMedia Oh definitely! I also currently have a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro so I'll make sure to note the differences and my experience using both 🙂 thanks Dion!
For the past 2 years that I have been using an apple watch, series 3 to be exact, I appeeciate how it keep tracks of my heartbeat since I am pre hypertensive. It is also beneficial in checking the calories I burn when I exercise. Although, the touchscreen is not functioning anymore but thanks to siri, I could still access to the different apps. Apple watch to me is a lifesaver.
As a Apple Watch owner, I have to heavily disagree! Despite some very useful features, with a highly marginal running time, the inability to change battery and the non scratch proof glass, it is still the most marginal product Apple has to offer and heavily overpriced‼️ Tim Cook might be a good operations manager but as a CEO, he lacks the necessities of the job!
@loganmickyd The apple watch is pretty huge for fitness conveniences. Monitoring my heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and having a mapped history of my runs have been fun additional metrics to keep track of. Additionally with the 41mm size, the slimmer profile and smaller wrist footprint have made it very comfortable to wear for weight lifting. With my previous 42mm series 3, I'd get a lot of rubbing against my hand due to the wider watch shape, but this new size really hasn't had any comfort issues at all.
Got mine couple of days back. I don't get out much right now due to a number of issues but outside of fitness there is still so much utility and convenience that I never would have thought of. Then of course, when my situation improves and I am able to get out more the utility will only increase.
im looking for an apple watch, its been my first year since using an iPhone, I was already using a macbook and ipad, and yes Ive become such an apple fanboy, but things just work so well together and I get so much use out of them, I was using my previous android watch, wich was a Huawei honor band, and for what it was, it worked great, battery lasted like a whole week, I would get my notifications, use an alarm to wake me up everyday for work, I would see how many hrs I would sleep, but just last week I lost it on a family trip, so now its kinda of an excuse to try an apple watch, im just trying to figure out wich one, and this helped a lot im gonna spend the extra money and get an 8
Never knew I would like an Apple Watch this much. Mainly bought it for fitness purposes but I do like it for my everyday life aswell. The only thing I dislike is the lack of an always-on display because I went with the SE…
My favourite apple watch feature is the health tracking features this is because scientifically apple watch has proven to be the most accurate in health features eg heart rate monitor,BP, and also with the super bright display its best for outdoor activities @street-geng
The SE II is my current watch, and it it’s perfect for my needs and my then-budget. Next one I get will have Always On Display but since I sleep with my watch, can it be dimmed? As always, thank you for the helpful video and for speaking properly. It’s nice to listen to an articulate speaker!
Thanks for the compliment. and yes, you can dim the light. How to Adjust brightness and text on Apple Watch? Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch, then tap Display & Brightness to adjust the following: Brightness: Tap the Brightness controls to adjust, or tap the slider, then turn the Digital Crown. Text size: Tap Text Size, then tap the letters or turn the Digital Crown.
Ive been using the regular apple watches for a while now. I really wanted to test out something different so I went with the SE 2nd gen.Tbh there nothing much of a difference I can notice except the display and absence of EKG functions. A budget watch with an S8 chip is really a good option for users who are not really into all the H -tech stuff the ultra or AW8 offers.
To use an Apple watch you need an iPhone and we all know how expensive they are in 3rd world countries 😮💨 Even the Apple watch SE 2022 is ⅒ of the average yearly salary in my country 😤
@@angeloaguilar6439 yeah especially with the fact that in my country the iPhone 14 Plus can reach almost $2000 USD for a 512 GB version that's the average salary of locals.
@@themoroccanball oh wow I couldnt agree more. Here in the Philippines an Iphone 14 maybe around 1k USD to be sure which is already our 2 and half months of salary lol.
The Apple Watch is pretty much the main reason I'm sticking with Apple in general. I recently tried Samsung Watch5 because I wanted to switch to Samsung. Went back to Apple in like 3 months.
@@Ruffyx I also switched from Gear S3 to Apple Watch 6 a few years ago when I switched from Samsung to Apple. If you already like the iPhone, you will love the watch. I recommend getting the SE if you want to save money, but if you have the budget, go for the Ultra.
I love watching your videos even tho I'm a samsung user and heavily into the samsung ecosystem. but your videos do inform me about apple and all their features and ecosystem. Keep up the great work
Yeah that's all great but having to charge it almost every day is a serious deal breaker considering there's other awesome smartwatches out there with 6-10 day battery life.
@wizp0p This is the only item I can say Apple is better than Samsung. I feel like the Apple Watch has more features than Samsung Watch Series hence making it more efficient than the Samsung.
@armanlan I’m wearing my Apple Watch SE 1st gen all the time. It was a great devices, but i kind of frustration of the face. I would like to use the Contour watch faces, but it’s only series 7 and 8 only. Other than that i’m satisfied wih it. Thumbs up for the video’s sir 👌😄.
I wanna buy my gf a series 8 but not sure if i should buy the gps+cellular one or if i need to select her exact phone carrier? Can she add her service to the watch regardless if i get her the gps+cellular option?
I don’t want a comparison. I want to know why I need one. And I want to watch a video that isn’t from someone who has consumed ALL the soy. Every review of whatever this thing is is the same lol
imo the BIGGEST game changer is the always on display. i had an android watch from around 2016 and it had a terrible battery life cause i kept waking it up to check the time.
I continue to think that square shape is a real women's watch. I have had the 7.8 and both Ultras myself, but those watches really don't look good on my wrist... I now wear a Huawei 4 Pro and GT4 and they do look masculine and nicer.
I love the Apple Watch and i love my Apple Watch Ultra 2 and I’ve always wore a watch on my wrist to and me having a watch that can do more than tell time is awesome
