Well I platinumed Intelligent Qube when it redropped on PSN Classics, and my old roommate got Natural Doctrine, and we spent way too long, trying to figure out exactly what the hell was going on, and why everything was destroying us instantly
Oh man!!! Thank you, I've literally been trying to remember the game title for intelligent cube for years! And I was so bad at Natural Doctrine, so difficult, I originally bought it cause the case looked cool
Shatterhand's difficulty is really amusing when you find out it was originally a licensed game based on the Japanese kids show Super Rescue Solbrain. As far as I know, the Japanese version isn't any easier.
Natural Doctrine. Dammit. I wanted to love that game so much I bought it on two different platforms just to see if anything had changed. It had not. It's insane, and there is one fight relatively early on - in a mine, I think - that I'm convinced is unwinnable using any tactic other than dumb luck. And luck is not your friend in this game, no it is not.
I got curious and checked out Mother of Mercy, never heard of them before. That song is awesome! Didn't figure you for a heavy music listener, Jules. 🤘
Always love your deep cuts Jules. Really hit me with Intelligence Qube aka Kurushi and its respectful sequel Kurushi Final. Still own these 2 games and now I want to dig them out to experience the nightmare all over again 😂😂 noycee
Maimai Finale is just one of a whole BUNCH of crazy rhythm games that have come out in the last decade. And my local arcade actually has a couple of these machines, as well as Jubeat, Beatmania IIDX, DDR, Pump It Up, StepManiaX, Cross Beats, Chunithm, etc. And if you want to see some wild music games like that, try and talk the higher ups at FGS to letting you go to MAGFest just outside DC next January. ;)
