PATREON - www.patreon.com/ALPHAKYE I hope you all enjoyed that one! It was fun to make and there will be more coming. Keep in mind that I don’t have the luxury of using much game footage as I must stay within copyright guidelines. Therefore, clips are kept incredibly short and that's why there are lots of images. I realised there was an error in the timeline as well. I wrote the 2009 - Greg Inglis series twice when it was supposed to say, 2008 - Shock Changes, oops. Anyways, thanks for the ongoing support of this channel I am forever grateful!!!!
All good! What a legendary team... 11/12 series wins from 2006-2015! It would have been interesting to know what would have have happened if Queensland lost 2006 series instead of winning it! That 2006 win gave them so much momentum going forward! By the way, the videos on the playlist on my channel just might change someone's life!
Do a documentary on cowboys 2015 grandfinal win show all the bad calls that robbed their chances in the years prior. Go off on the story of thurston winning at bulldogs and debuting at cowboys in 2005 losing grandfinal too tigers and the long 10 year battle to get back there and win against broncos in arguably the best grandfinal of all time.
I see a few foreigners in the comments, great to see. Origin would go viral if put in front of the right crowd. Hopefully League does spread from the few countries it's big in and test football gets like this. The old Great Britain v Australia tests were brutal, absolute carnage while also being great contests. The 90 series is some of the best footy I've ever seen, it's on RU-vid. Game 2 1990 is the best test match I've ever seen, i go back and watch it occasionally.
Great video man! Always been a fan of this style of video from SB nation and have routinely begged them to make them to no response, so to see someone go and make one off their own back is awesome. Videos like this are probably the best way to preserve the history of the game in this day and age, so I really hope you keep making this type of video. Cheers
Stopped watching Origin lately when I used to be a Maroons freak. Best period ever was from 06 to 16. Best memories. Best players. Living legends. It will never be seen again.
12:10 to this day the grubbiest thing I've ever witnessed on the field. For the most part what happens on the field stays on the field but that was inexcusable
From an afl perspective, seems to me QLD simply had a settled core group of champions- and just like the aussie cricket team of the late 90s on were just lucky to be able to call on gr8ness on every line 3specially with those sorta play makers. And like all dynastys they would only have the occassional blip, usually due to some either amazing play or great coaching feat which would only be a one off. The tide will turn, but who knows which state will be lucky with having a great group of stars with all the right team attributes at the same time again... it may very well be qld again!?!
The Greg Inglis playing for QLD thing will forever be the biggest “Yeah but why?” In modern NRL, the guy went to the same school as my brother in NSW, how that was ever allowed to go through I’ll never understand
That Hodgson knock on that was called play on was easily the worse call in Origin. The reason being that the video ref had a chance to rectify the on field decision
Thanks for this document it's brings back memories QLD always play with confidence teamwork game plan defence the spirit of QLD loyal united to people of QLD they are legends I ❤️ my Queenslander Boyz it down in history generation after generation 🎉🎉😅
Your vid is let down by not having the full highlight clips (not sure if it a rights issue) but always fun to relive the glory days, In Billy we trust lets go 10 in a row this time QUEENSLANDER!
Also you should watch the 2002 Preliminary Final, the Broncos vs Roosters. Possibly the most obvious case of rigging in recent history. Two years later Harrigan was hired by the Roosters as payment for his services.
I'm a NSW fan, why am I punishing myself by watching this? Such a stacked team that had so much experience playing together in club and eventually in rep footy. The only chance NSW ever had was trying to bash Queensland up.
QLD produced so many legendary players considering they are only 4 clubs from QLD back then. Broncos, cowboys, Titans and Melbourne Storm. Now NSW is in that generation but having too much stars, always injury.
An amazing time in sporting history. To be fair to Nate Myles, Gallen King hit him and blitzed him before he knew what was going on. It would've been great to see Nate and Gal in the ring for a fair match, Gals a pretty average boxer so Nate would have a good chance.
I remember the early 2000s sucked for us as QLDers, it seemed every year they'd just keep bringing out Andrew Johns to win the series by conversion, I'm so glad we got the last laugh on those cockroaches.... we still will with it being 14 wins out of the last 18 haha. It should be renamed "State of QLD"
Boo...Hiss....BOOOO!!!! DANG, it was supposed to be the Blues' turn from 2020 onward. We were gonna win series after series, but the Cane Toads look like doing it YET AGAIN!!!.......... But off course, I lay all the blame on Fittler. He's gotta go!!! We need Andrew "Ecstasy" Johns to take up the coaching reins to deliver the next 10 series of SOO to NSW.
Qld and Nswankers had different criteria for senior football. Qld had their requirements of actually playing first grade football which Inglis had did in playing for North Devils which qualified him for Qld. Nswankers criteria was high school football which is in no way first grade footy. Nswankers didn''t give a shit about Inglis until after he choose Qld and was a star in the making after choosing to play for Qld.
