I've got a woman that I absolutely adore. But this world shattered her to dust. She has no confidence or self worth. She'd been beaten and abused mentally for her "flaws", to the point that she can't even speak to me. She can't speak to me, because it's me that she likes and in her heart she feels that I'd do the same thing to her. She'll never trust a man. She'll always feel "undesirable". When she looks at me I see nothing but love and loyalty in her, and I'm sad that I can't help, because I'm broken too, and want something like that. I'd kill her. Not with words or fists, but with love. Because I won't let anyone love me, and I know I'd leave her wondering, and that I'd love her intermittently, and only on my terms, and that anytime she'd try to show affection to me, that I'd shut her down. I can't be in a relationship because of that. I can't do that to her. But.... A good artist and graphic designer with a loyal heart is hard to find. If she had her confidence back, and could smile again, she'd be even more beautiful. If she hadn't been abused, and I hadn't, I could have someone interesting in my life. She needs to be Al. And not to have someone try to force her to be Ariana grande. So sad, because she's perfect.

Don't talk down about yourself that way. You need to realize that you have the power to change whatever insecurities you have. I'll admit, life's not fair and everyone has a different starting point. Don't let your past define what you CAN be. Keep working on yourself. Nobody cares about your past. It's who you decide to be NOW that matters.

@@ianclark1674 well I care about my past, and I'm entitled, I have a right to my mindset, perspective, and I'm not sure I buy it whenever people say that everyones timeline is different, if someone hasn't dated or been in a relationship by a certain age, something is going wrong in their lives, mainly true for men that is, not women.

He never got to experience young love and probably only got into a relationship because the other woman was finally ready to "settle down" with a guy she sees as less attractive than her previous partners. While I guarantee you that his now girlfriend probably had her first boyfriend in her early 20s at the latest. This is why I hate women

I know what you mean about those who got to grow mutually together from a younger age. A cute girl choosing a man earlier would offer him more validation. I think that unlocks more self value in a man, like he got chosen. And even though you managed to gain a girlfriend, you've grown used to just being unchosen.

@T E Once you're an "unchosen one", you can't escape it. If you managed to get a woman to like you once you're older, it's because the woman decided to settle.
