Brisbane (Brissie) has some violent storms. I'm originally from there, I moved to The Atherton Tablelands, Far North Queensland when I was 13. Mum was a local. Those storms form very quickly with some serious wind, lightning and huge hailstones. During one storm the roof off one block of flatts tore off and landed on top of another block of flats. A large pink stuffed dog flew out of one of those flats and landed in my best friend's yard about half a block away. Another time I was at school, it was about an hour before the end of the school day when it struck. My teacher and my class were huddled under her desk. Part of the school roof tore off. I remember watching the news another time. Featuring a story about a car dealership having a hail damage sale because of the severe damage to the cars bodywork. Up in the mountains where I live, we didn't receive a great deal of damage from the cyclone. It rained heavily for 10 day with a little bit of rain. In the small town where I live we lost power for about 20 hours. Due to quite a lot of power line damage. Mainly cyclones affect the food supply lines up here. But you won't hear the locals complaining due to all of that flooding in Cairns and the rest of the coastal areas.

On the contrary Deo, houses are not really cheaper during school holidays. They are only more available probably because some students may be on holiday or moving interstate after school. House rents in Australia are mostly regulated. There is always a rental range in every state and suburb which makes it difficult for any landlord especially those renting through property agents to not inflate the rents. House owners that do private renting which is coming known as "Rooming renting" do inflate their rents and they mostly do not submit their tenants "rental bonds" which is commonly known as "caution fee" in Nigeria. So, houses are not really cheap during the school holiday, they are only more available. Continue the good work you are doing.
