One time my mom and I went to Disney for my 12th birthday, and we wanted to go on the frozen ride in epcot. The line was like, an hour and a half long, and I REALLY wanted to go on the ride, but we had no fast pass. A cast member was walking by and he said “Hey, have a magical birthday!” And I said thanks. He looked at my mom and said “how many people are in your party?” And my mom said “2.” And he said “Great, come with me” and he took us to the very front of the line. Best birthday ever

My husband and I were at Disney when his stepdad passed away. We had to leave several days early and went to the front desk to cancel the rest of our trip and stuff. The cast member did so much for us including giving us all the money back for the rest of the nights and the meals we didn’t use. I love that cast member. He made a really hard time much easier.

My husband ended up getting the flu while we were there many years ago. He was in bed rest while I would get food to bring back from the commissary. There was a cast member serving up the food that I saw in evening. I told her my husband was sick in bed so, she made him a cup of chicken noodle soup every night for me to pick up until he was better. It wasn’t a menu choice and, I know it’s easy enough to make but, she went the extra mile during dinner hours to do that for me. Also I wasn’t charged for the soup. When he was better he thanked her very much for the soup and, we gave glowing statements to the restaurant manager and, to the hotel management.

#9: Drag your kid on a ride they clearly don't want to go on. It completely ruins a ride on Haunted Mansion when the Doom Buggy next to you has a toddler screaming in terror the entire time. And before you say Haunted Mansion isn't that scary, I will say as someone who kept their eyes clamped shut the entire time when they first went to Disney -- it's not the reality of the Mansion, it's the anticipation of something scary that causes the panic.

100% agree with the last sentence. the first time i rode haunted mansion, i was terrified - my anxiety made me freak out & i spent the whole ride with my eyes shut, trembling. the second time i went on, i knew nothing was going to jump out at me or harm me, and it was much more enjoyable

Kelsi Parker The first time (that I remember. I had been to Disney once when I was 5 but have very few memories of it) that I went on the haunted mansion I was 13 years old and I was TERRIFIED of going on the haunted mansion. For a quick backstory, I went with my step mom and step sister who had been to Disney loads of times before and they assured me it wasn't scary, but up until that point, my only experience with "haunted" things were haunted hayrides back home where the main goal was to make to pee yourself in fear and usually ended up with someone crying. So in my defense, I had a different expectation going into it. I quickly figured out that they were right and now it's one of my favorite rides, but I could absolutely see how a young child would be scared out of their minds going on that ride. Heck, the pop ups in the grave yard scene still spook me. I just realized that I've been rambling for too long, so I'll just make my point. TL;DR: I totally agree that the haunted mansion probably could be too spooky for young children who are afraid of the dark and/or ghosts and monsters

Honestly guests being awful to me when I was a cast member was a huge reason why I resigned. I was constantly being harassed about things I couldn’t change in departments that I had no control over. Once a guest kept yelling at me because an EPCOT restaurant wasn’t open yet and another guest let their child smash a glass bottle at my feet and it cut my legs. It was exhausting how often people acted like I wasn’t a person or that I was somehow responsible for EVERYTHING that went wrong during their stay.

One trip, when I was 8 or 9, my family was going on Space Mountain for the first time. My sister, who was 6 at the time, wasn’t tall enough to ride. She was quite upset and she had to stay with my grandparents while my parents and I rode Space Mountain. The cast member at the door could tell that she was upset, even though she wasn’t showing it, and to cheer her up he gave her a voucher for the Disney store. He also gave me a snack credit. My sister then went and bought a Pluto toy and she absolutely loved it. The cast members are great at Disney and will always try to make your trip the best it can be. Remember that

@@barstoolschalkdust The reason for height is because kids who are too small and can slip from under the restraints. Being nice to cast members! I can attest to this one!! Last time my family went to Disney I was 8 months pregnant. My daughter (7) wanted to see her favorite princess Aurora, so we got in line only to be told by a cast member that Aurora wasn’t taking anymore kids this evening, as it was getting close to her “bed time”. My daughter was slightly disappointed, but my pregnant self LOST IT. I couldn’t stop crying no matter how hard I tried! The cast member felt HORRIBLE, even though I kept telling her it was ok, I was just pregnant, and couldn’t control it. She asked us to come back in about 20 minutes, and so we sat on a bench nearby, and I sobbed the entire time. The girl came back with a Mickey ice cream for my 7 year old, and a Aurora Christmas ornament, took us to a private area near by, and surprised us with a PRIVATE 1 on 1 meet and greet with princess Aurora!

A reason to be kind to cast members: My family was staying at Caribbean Beach, and the air conditioner wasn't working. They moved us to another room, and the A/C still had problems. The manager stayed after her shift to make sure we got moved over to another resort (we actually ended up staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge!), and the last time we went, which was last year in 2018, we stayed at Beach Club and were moved to the Concierge Level... for free! I think this is because my mom had sent an e-mail thanking Disney and telling them about the wonderful manager and how dedicated she was, because at places other than Disney, this surely wouldn't have happened. So, yeah... kindness costs NOTHING. And look what it gets you.

Back in like 1992, I was getting cast member autographs from EVERYONE, not just characters. They loved it, and I loved it. I was a very outgoing little girl and always wanted to make friends, especially at a place like DisneyWorld. And as bonus we would get some special treatment, freebies, etc. I especially loved being invited to ride at the very front of the monorail - and “Monorail Mike” drew an awesome picture of a monorail in my autograph book. Here's an insane thing a friend of mine did and I have no idea WHY. - she went to WDW during christmas season (generally unadvisable anyway given the crowds) - first time at animal kingdom she texted me and said "the line at flight of passage is 5 hours long." I told her to go check out the rest of the park. ... SHE STAYED IN LINE ANYWAY BECAUSE IT WAS THE NEW RIDE!! Even though she'd never been to the park and missed out on pretty much everything else that otherwise relaxing place has to offer. 2+ hour wait times aren't worth it. Just enjoy everything else in the park and return later. 8I

I agree. There are times that we go to Disney World and we just know that there are certain rides that if we do not get have a fast pass for we are not going to be riding them and that's okay. Next time the line won't be as long or will try to get fastpasses next time. There are so many things to do at Disney world that in my opinion it just doesn't make sense to spend half a day waiting in line for one ride

Speaking of long waits, last summer my family had a reunion at disney, and it was a very busy day, my mom wanted to go on expedition Everest, but the wait was 2 hours long. After my mom waited for two hours to go on, while me and my cousin were at the food bar in the deathly heat, my mom came and said "they were doing maintenance and they shut the ride down" The thing was, they had an announcement about it that I could hear from the snack bar, my mom knew she wouldnt make it in time but she was still determined.

I agree. I know what it's like to go to Disney World with four kids. It can be difficult but at the end of the day my husband and I were the ones who chose to take 4 kids to Disney World. I think one of my biggest ones is when people get on the bus clearly seeing that it is standing room only and expect somebody to give up their seat for them because they have young children or are elderly. So many times we have gotten up to the front of the line to see that the bus had standing room only. Knowing that we had four kids and my husband was carrying a stroller we didn't really want to stand on the bus. So we let the people behind us who wanted to get on with standing room only go ahead and do that and we waited for the next bus. I remember one time this couple got on the bus with standing room only. The wife was pregnant and they had a small child and the husband looked around and said really nobody's going to give up a seat for a pregnant lady with a baby. I was like really? Y'all are the ones who chose to get on with standing room only. And if you looked around just about everybody who was sitting was either a young child somebody with a young child or an elderly person. Even my husband who had waited for the next bus to avoid standing-room-only was standing

"Being rude or ignoring Cast Members" Thank you so much for bringing this one up AJ! Unfortunately, the biggest reason I do not want to be a cast member anymore is because of how absolutely horrible guests are on a consistent daily and hourly basis towards us cast members..... Also, If I have an opportunity to Make Magic for a guest, I will, when they are extra nice. If a guest is rude to me, I will in no way give them anything for free, it is like working with children. The thing that really puts a sting on the situation from my stand point, I work in retail and of course we want even our guests to have a great experience either shopping or participating in our events or celebrating their child's birthday at our store. Some people are rude shoppers or having a bad day. I get it. These people at Disney are on flipping vacation! How are you gonna be so fawl on vacation. Especially in front of their children, and making it hard for others to take in the magic of it all while you go on a rant over something I'm sure cast members are trained to handle. On behalf of someone who wants to revisit Disney as an adult and as a parent, I'm sorry to any cast member who was made to feel less than they truly are valued.

It makes me sad when guests only watch the firework shows through their phones because they are too worried about recording the entire show... to make it worse... when they have their flash on the entire time and are blinding everyone around them 🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s one thing to take a few pictures or record a small part of the show to remember those special moments... but it’s so sad to see all of these people sucked into just getting that “perfect” video or picture that they most likely will never watch again after vacation instead of just living in the moment with the ones they are sharing their memories with 🤷🏻‍♀️

1000x THIS. Trust me, whatever crappy video you're going to make with your phone is not going to compare to the professional-quality videos that exist on RU-vid. I've seen people do the wackiest things with cameras during fireworks shows. One lady in front of me insisted on doing a full photo shoot with her teenage daughter with flash on throughout the show. Of course, she was using a phone. I'm sure the photos were breathtaking.

My bf was trying to record it (MK firework show) for me last year since I had never seen it and he went the year before and he is over six feet and can see bettet. So I am a small person of only five feet but this little girls wants to see the show so her dad goes right to the FRONT of the crowd of people where I am, stands in front of me and puts the girl on his shoulders. He could have done that in the back of the crowd easily without blocking anyones view of the show and the girl still would have been able to see it back there because there was no one tall enough to be in the way. If it wasn't for that video I would not have seen as much as I did even if it was back in the hotel on my phone. 🤷🏼‍♀️

One thing that makes absolutely no sense is when a family has a person as a place holder and then a family of like 10 come and cut the line. As a guest and cast member it’s extremely rude.

I think they might be trying to address this in some lines. I was just at AK yesterday and noticed a sign at Flight of Passage that says something like "All members of your party must be present to enter line."
@Nimeariel
@Nimeariel 5 лет назад
I can understand if ONE person cuts the line- especially if they have a child with them. But only if they are coming alone- they are not carrying snacks or souvenirs or any other such things to mark them as having just wasted time only to cut the line. Maybe that child (or person) had an emergency and had to go to the bathroom or something. But even then, I feel like the person "holding" the spot should just stay put and let the rest of the line go in front of them until their family member gets back. Or even better, mandatory potty breaks BEFORE big lines. But sometimes emergencies can't be avoided. Story- not at Disney though- I was waiting in line for a ride in a hallway part of a line, and one kid was coming up (by himself, mind you) saying excuse me. We let him through because he was by himself. A few min later, like 5 more kids (aged 10 probably, so not like, YOUNG kids) came up behind (obviously part of the same party) and were like can we get through? I was like, NO! You cannot cut- you got out of line, the rules IN THE PARK MAP state no line jumping or cutting at all- zero tolerance- so get to the back of the line. You left the line by yourself, you can wait in line at the end by yourself. The five of you are NOT cutting the line to the front. They turned around and probably just stood in line somewhere not far behind where we were in the line- they didn't go to the back. Cuz I knew that they had all probably gone to ride another ride while "mama" waited in line for them and probably contacted them when she got closer. Sure enough, "mama" and the kid we had let through were waiting at the front of the line and proceeded to yell at me for letting her precious kids get separated from her and how you should NEVER let kids be alone in a line or separated from their parents and how you should ask the parents FIRST about what's going on. I was like look, lady- if you are comfortable letting your kids get out of line BY THEMSELVES, then you can let them wait at the BACK of the line BY THEMSELVES. And besides, how would I have thought to ask you if I didn't even know who you were?? So, she got on the ride in the car ahead of us and then had to wait at the exit for her other kids to ride shortly after. I almost had to bring it up to a ride attendant, but they were so oblivious anyway....

I have stopped allowing people to pass me when they try to do that. I don't mind if it's a couple of people joining their party especially when it looks like maybe a younger person had to use the bathroom. But it's not fair for one person to wait in the line the majority of the time and the rest of their party to get to enjoy other experiences only to skip us last minute.

2:46 I have a story about this. (Context: I use a wheelchair everywhere I go.) My mom and I were at Magic Kingdom when my family went to Disney World a few years ago. We were in the Belle's storytime attraction (the one with the impressive Lumiere animatronic) We were in the room just before you enter through the magical door into the library. There were a bunch of people and my mom and I were in the back right corner. There was a very nice Cast Member who, before she let everyone through, said, "Let the wheelchair go first." You know what all of these ADULTS did? They sprinted towards the door, leaving us there in shock. I was young at the time and very emotional. I wasn't crying, but very close. The Cast Member apologized and we went on our way. One thing about this attraction, you can't get Belle's autograph. So, after everyone went through the exit cue, a different Cast Member stopped us and said, "Wait right here, we have a surprise for you." He asked for my autograph book and went to the backstage area. He came back with Belle AND the Beast's autographs in my book and apoligized for the incident. And then that same day, I got sick at Disney ok bai!

Be nice to the cast members is definitely a plus. I remember the year my dad passed away, and my mom didn't want to spend Christmas at home so we ended up going to Disney World. My mom and my brother don't like roller coasters so I went in line for rock n Roller Coaster by myself, even though the line was almost an hour and a half. I got talking with the cast member that was keeping the line in order and when she asked if I was alone I explain the reason told her even why we were there. She looked over her shoulder, and next thing I know she hands me a fast pass(when they still had paper ones) for earlier that morning. She said go ahead and use this and go up to the line. When it came time to present my Fastpass I asked the cast member if it was possible I could keep it as a souvenir. The cast member was nice and said I could.

When I worked as a custodian in Tomorrowland, a guest approached my co-worker really upset because they lost track of the day missed the last meet & greet with Stitch and it was their last day of their vacation. But they weren't complaining, they were asking us if we had any suggestions of how to give their daughter as close to an experience with Stitch as possible. They knew they messed up. So what did we do? We tracked down a merch leader, got his permission to grab a medium Stitch plushie, ran backstage to Stitch's dressing room to ask "him" for an autograph really quick (after we explained the situation, "he" was more than willing), and grabbed one of those light up bubble wands and went back to the guests saying that although Lilo was getting impatient waiting for Stitch, he wanted the guest to have a little piece of him! The parents almost broke down and cried and their daughter was so excited. It was a highlight of my employment. Treat cast members with kindness. Be kind when something goes awry, don't approach pushing out your chest with steam shooting out of your ears. The truth is, so many CMs love making magic and try to find every opportunity to do it, but I personally never saw a CM make magic for someone who yelled at them, berated them or demanded something absurd.

If you're staying at a hotel and catching the bus to a park fold up that stroller before you get to the door. There is nothing worse than someone with one of those huge strollers standing there, blocking everyone else while they fold that monstrosity up. It's not just Disney's policy that kids can't ride in strollers on a bus, that is standard for everywhere and everyone should know it, but you can't get on a bus going to the parks without waiting for that one family, trying to figure out all the levers and buttons to fold the thing up.

ocularnervosa This makes me so nervous. I’m planning on taking my autistic 4yo son to WDW for the first time and I was told that I could use his stroller as a wheelchair, so he could have accessible access. Does this not include the bus? He rides in his stroller on our city bus at home....the accessible seats fold up to make room. Do American buses not do that??
@sinthesciencekid4451
@sinthesciencekid4451 5 лет назад
Denise Wreford buses do have seats that fold up in the front of the bus but that is for wheelchairs as there is a plethora of people that bring strollers on the bus unfolded which conflicts with 1) taking up walking space 2) makes it harder for older people and people in wheelchairs to get on . Im not sure on your situation nor will I assume about it , but I suggest getting him a wheelchair if possible or letting him sit on the seats if you can . If not explain to the bus driver and see what he can do for you hun.

Naai G.C OK, thank you! I know that in the park his stroller will have some sort of band or ribbon thing (to alert staff) that makes it equivalent to a wheelchair. If the seats do fold up, I am hopeful that having his stroller being marked by the park as being a wheelchair equivalent would be enough to grant him access, but I will definitely call and ask! Thank you for the advice! I certainly don’t want to be annoying to other people or finding myself in a dangerous/stressful situation that could be avoided simply by calling a cab instead.

1. Being diabetic, I would probably use my snack credits on water or save them up to get fudge for my friends. 2. Yes, this is Dangerous! 3. As a former cast member, we are there to try and make you feel better. So if you have a problem, talk to your castmember and they might just be able to make your day. 4. To be fair, Mobile Order is still kinda new so I can understand why people don't do that. 5. Also, if you have a Fast Pass you don't want to miss, pay attention to the time on your phone. I don't know if the app has an alarm, but if not set an alarm on your phone for 30 minutes before your Fast pass to give you time to make it. 6. Going early and staying late is a good idea, or do both. Come in early, once the crowds start getting too big, leave and get some rest and come back later like around 5 or 6 PM, maybe even catch a nap. 7. Also, if you aren't staying in the parks, you can have your packages sent to the front gate for pick up as you leave. This is a service that anyone can use, not just those staying at the parks. Also, some resorts have a special location where you have to pick up your purchases if you prefer. 8. I've never used a park bag, but here is a list of the few things you might want to bring: A. Sunscreen (No one wants to ruin their vacation with a sunburn) B. Umbrella or Poncho ( It can rain at any time at the parks) C. A Fuel Rod or other Battery charger for your phone (Disney has Fuel Rod kiosks at every park and resort so you can trade them out) That is the bare minimum you might need to take with you. If you have a baby and you forget something, the parks each have a baby center where you can get emergency baby supplies by the First Aid Stations. OK, this got a bit out of hand, sorry.

He stopped setting up my bill and told me the cap was free! It was a $35 cap! He said there was no point paying for something when I already was a ghost host. I was shocked and extremely grateful to the cast member! I didn't know about praising the cast member online. I never forgot that experience. Wow! Something free at Disney just for being polite and talking friendly to the cashier. So, yes, be nice to the cast members. You never know if a good deed will be returned. So, I went up to them the next day and asked about it. I just kindly stated that the night before I had a fast pass (it was on my phone and I had a screenshot just in case if they were to ask for proof), and I told them I had a picture of it. I said I never received an email to make a new time and I didn’t have the money to buy a new one. They said they were sorry for that, and let me through with the fast pass lane, along with they let my sister go with me for the ride when she never had one. Can you mention about please change your child's diaper in the bathroom or baby centre instead of the tables that people eat at. Oh and I know you are on vacation but please spare a thought for the cast member who has to clean up after you. The cast members job is made easier if you don't let your kid do whatever they want. Like for example dispensering every fork from the dispenser. Those forks now have to be thrown out and refilled. The food that your throws all of the floor also has to be swept up and sometimes it gets baked into the carpet. Which is not hopeful. I understand that kids can be messy eaters. But you wouldn't let them leave that mess at home so why would you let it happen at Disney. Oh and please do trade pins with cast members it makes our day being able to put a smile on your face because you got the pin you wanted. Cast members sometimes have exclusive pins so keep an eye out. I miss Disney World everyday and hope to go back there one day.

One of the most magical moments I've had at Disney was because of a cast member. My big sister from my sorority who I had not seen in years was working as Mickey's helper during the Not So Scary Halloween Party. We got to meet briefly in the gift shop next to where she was working while she was on break. The reunion in and of itself was pretty magical, but what put it over the top was the cast member who was working the gift shop and overheard our conversation. Right before my sister had to go back to work, we were presented with I'm Celebrating buttons that the other cast member had captioned "Being Together Again." Best Disney souvenir ever, and all because of a caring cast member!

The first time I went to a Disney park, we watched the second launch of the space shuttle "Columbia." On the hood of our stainwagon. In 2015 I had the chance to go Disneyland while visiting Anaheim for Star Wars Celebration. I was in my Rebel Legion shirt (it's a charity doing costume club) waiting for my party to finish a ride. I was being treated for vertigo at the time and couldn't ride. Two CM's dressed as First Order Storm troopers came up and started to treat me as a "Rebel infiltrator.". I played along and had a wonderful time. I looked up at one point and I had a circle of people out around me filming everything. After our little performance, an elderly couple asked me when the next performance was. They thought I was a cast member manager. I told them I was just a park goer and that cat members make everyone feel great. They were so happy and told their Grand children to always be nice and play along with CM's and they'll get to do it too.😄😄😄

Best "Bad Cast Member" Story. "It's was the 90's and I was in Epcot. I was taking French in high school and wanted to try out my french at the cast member in France. He was not having it. I asked him about the French movie he rudely said " It's about France and its not a movie its a FILM" I could see my dad about to go off. I laughed and said "okay" and walked away with my dad. He said "whats so funny that guy is an asshole" I replied "I never thought I would get such an authentic French experience from someone at Disney world. #9: Filming stuff with iPads above their heads. You’re blocking people behind you, you *word I’m not gonna use in Disney World*!!! My mom and I wound up watching Fantasmic separately because I ran ahead to make sure I saw it (I wound up getting a pretty good seat despite being almost late) and she wound up behind at least one person who had their iPad up above their freaking head the whole time, and she’s short so this was really annoying to her (and I had to hear about it) This makes no sense, there are a ton of videos online, and even if you absolutely NEED a video of it, use your phone or a camera so you don’t block people behind you!! #10: keeping your crying and screaming baby/kid in a theater. You’re ruining it for LITERALLY everyone. You’re distracting/disturbing everyone watching, you’re probably not paying attention to the show while calming your kid down, they’re CLEARLY not having a good time and depending on what set them off it’ll take even longer to calm them down in the dark theatre with the show going on. Just take your kid outside, calm them down, and maybe bring them back for a later show.
@ttintagel
@ttintagel 4 года назад
Also, waiting near the front of the parade crowd, then putting your kid up on your shoulders just as the parade starts. If you’re going to put them up there, either stand toward the back or give the folks behind you plenty of advance warning so they have time to find another viewing spot.

To expand on being rude to cast members, do not be that jerk who stops in the middle of a cleared walkway to watch the fireworks. If you wanna watch the fireworks, arrive early enough to get a place to watch. But standing in a cleared space while a cast member is yelling at you to move and you refuse to do so is annoying. To the cast member, to you who is being yelled at and to the other guests around you who want to watch the show without hearing cast members on speakers yelling “this is not a fireworks viewing area. Keep moving” they make it clear when the fireworks are. If you didn’t make it early enough, that’s not the cast members fault. So don’t stand somewhere and refuse to move because you didn’t plan ahead of time to find a place to stand for the fireworks where you won’t get yelled at. The walkways are cleared out for a reason and it’s not so you can stand in a crowd free zone to watch the fireworks. And don’t be rude to cast members who get in your face when you refuse to move because you’re trying to watch the fireworks. It’s not their fault you didn’t plan your day accordingly so you could watch the fireworks.
@skabs508
@skabs508 5 лет назад
Also, if you do plan ahead and you get to your spot early, thank you, but STAND UP. Sitting down and spreading your crap around makes it just that much harder for people to find good spots. gondorbunny it’s especially true at Disney. Like they justify the amount of money it cost to get there for their terrible behavior. I remember a family (mom dad and daughter) stopped by some trash cans in the middle of a cleared walkway during the fireworks and a cast member asked them to move and they LOOKED PAST HER like she didn’t exist when she told them they had to move. So she kept repeating herself and waving her light up wand in their face and eventually the father was like “we are watching the fireworks” and the CM was like “you can’t stand here” and he was like “THEN TELL ME WHERE TO GO!” And she literally was “idc where you go but you can’t stay here” like really?! Why are people like that?? If the fireworks were something you needed to see, you shoulda found a spot an hour before the show started. Your fault you didn’t do that and now it’s packed.

skabs508 I work at DCA on the west coast but got pulled to the Disneyland side on New Years Eve to help with guest control and I was in front of the castle making sure the walkway was clear, and I can’t tell you how many people just refused to listen and stopped right there to take a bunch of pics or try to watch what was happening at the castle. Stopping to take one quick pic is totally fine, but when they linger it becomes an issue bc then more people start lingering. And then right before midnight, a guest took down one of the ropes and a big crowd came flooding the walkway. It took me and several other CMs plus a lead and a manager to get the big crowd to go back because they’d created a fire hazard by filling the walkway and not budging when asked 🙃

The kids we are seeing go up on shoulders is RIDICULOUS. 3-4 year olds MAX please!

I think one of the things people often do that does not make sense is that you don't take a break. They go from first thing in the morning till the park closes even if there are magic hours with the zero break even with small children. By about 1 or 2 in the afternoon you're tired and it's probably the hottest part of the day and usually the most crowd. Go back to the hotel take a rest and come back refreshed. Especially if you're at a park that has Late Night Magic hours. We usually leave at 1 and come back at around 4 or 5 refresh and ready for another fun time in the park. And this also piggybacks onto the not over packing your bag because if you're taking a break in the afternoon you can switch out things in your bag that you might not need in the evenings but you need in the morning. You can also add things that you might need so you don't have to carry a full day worth of snacks and whatever else you need

Yes, take a break if your kids are prone to meltdowns if they don’t take a nap, but at the same time, you’re paying so much to be there, that id use my parents strategy and enjoy the whole day going on rides!

I haven't been to Disneyworld in years, but I did go to Dollywood last year. They measured all the kids right inside the front gate and gave them those paper wrist bands. Then the ride operators always knew who was tall enough or not (and they could re-measure anyone they thought may have tried to switch wristbands). It was a pretty darn good system actually and kept the lines moving. And parents and kids knew right away what they could ride or not and avoid the whole trying to sneak on thing.

I definitely agree with be nicer to the cast members. Beyond the obvious that is, you should be nice to people, you can also get perks. My last vacation a month ago the cast member at Polynesian let me switch rooms because we had a one bed and my mom and I prefer sleeping in separate beds, even offering to take my bags for me to the new room. He kept apologizing to me even though it was an error we made while booking and got us a room next to the big ceremonial house, which was awesome because my mom has two knee replacements. Then at Magic Kingdom we tried to get a DAS pass (the disability pass) and the poor cast members tablet wasn't working. We were nice about it because it's not her fault of course and she let us through the fast pass right away, even though she couldn't actually check our DAS. If you're nice to the cast members, especially in situations where people tend to be incredibly rude, they could show their appreciation if they are allowed. We would have been fine without the fast pass or room exchange but they gave us a little extra magic.

Bring breakfast you can eat in the hotel with you. And then enjoy a dinner. - Go to parks just 1 a day. Skip the park hopper. I’ve been going to Disney every year since 1984. Been my family trip every year and my parents didn’t have a lot of money. Now I live here in Florida. Anyway don’t make money a reason for not going there. It’s expensive but listen to these videos. Save your money and make the trip. And once your here. If you have kids here’s how you save money with them. I told them they can have one souvenir everyday worth 20$. And make your decision at the end of the day and we will buy it. If they skipped the day. They can spend up to $40 the next. Most of the time they would forget about it or realize they don’t want everything they see.

My mom has been able to afford amazing Disney vacations for my family of 7 for less then $4,000. Always be on the look out for good deals for ways to get to Florida, Disney tickets , and hotel rooms. Try to limit yourself to one sit down restaurant a day (there are plenty of amazing quick service restaurants for other meals/snacks. Les halles in Epcot is my favorite out of all the parks) if your really trying to cut back on pricing bring your own food. Don’t spend a ridiculous amount of money on merch (it’s super easy to spend hundreds of dollars, but you can get the same things for half the price online vs at Disney). There’s ways to make a Disney vacation more affordable.

1. Once you've checked into your resort, there is absolutely nothing that the reservation center can do for your current vacation other than tell you to speak with the front desk or guest services at the park where you had the issue. When there is an issue, don't wait til the end of the day. Park cast members are empowered to provide "magical solutions" to resolve the issue. 2. Don't take a posh attitude when you encounter an issue. We know and understand that you've paid thousands for your vacation, but so has everyone else staying at a Disney resort. 3. Place $200 to the side for rebooking. Your absolute best possible deal on your next Disney vacation is almost always going to be the bounceback offer. the offer must be booked by 10pm on your day of checkout and the $200 deposit has to be paid immediately upon booking.

Thanks for the excellent information! Love watching your videos. My wonderful husband books trips now and then for my son and I to WDW or DL (once both) as Mother's Day gifts. On one of these amazing trips, Jared and I noticed that no one seems to ask non-character cast members for pictures and autographs. Just after park opening, we went right into a gift shop and bought an autograph book. Our first picture/autograph was the lady at the cash register. We went out to Main Street, took pictures and had everyone sign their name and where they work. We carried the book with us for the entire trip. The delight on their faces was so incredible. We had the best day! We left a blank page here and there in the book to add the pictures. Since then, it has become a tradition for us, especially on our Mother's Day trips. And I can promise, there's never a line for this meet and greet. But there should be. These are the people making the seamless magic happen. We may not notice how well they do their jobs... and it's so wrong to come unglued at them when something goes wrong.

I'd also ask where they are from and best part of that place. I'm from small town deep woods with big river over the hills of Pennsylvania but the best part is that I can travel to many big cities within 2-4 hours making it very easy for weekends trips. North to Niagara Falls/Buffalo/Erie, South to Pittsburgh, West to Columbus Ohio, East to Harrisburg Pa.

3:30 Here’s a fun story that got my family family of the day. For some context, I was 5 at the time and my brother was 7. My dad was an early riser. I can’t remember which hotel we were staying at, but all I remember was catching a bus at 7:00 in the morning. Once we arrived at the gates, my brother and I were being pretty reckless, being little kids and all. In order to distract my brother and I’s tomfoolery, my mom started talking to gat security lady. Her friendliness with the lady eventually lead to the question of being family of the day. This was most likely not the day magic hours were running or before the system was implemented, because we had the full park to ourselves for pictures. So being nice to cast members can really be great and lead to some great photos. Just keep that in mind in case your dads a nutcase like mine.

Disney is so huge, it's like there's categories for categories. Looking up everything, I feel like I'm doing homework. Like legit, I'm taking notes, numbering, color coating & highlighting things. Thinking about time frames, the scale of what seems more entertaining for all, & how to get in a good mixture of how much heat can we handle in between ac/ water entertainment. Also, w/ in what category of a category are these places, or locations? I'm just looking up stuff, & I don't even have a map. & I'm still discovering things.

About waiting in the line for counter service for those who come from Brazil it makes sense. Because if we use our credit card we need to pay more 6,38% of tax to Brazilian goverment. But when we buy US Dollars we pay just 1,1% of tax. So, for us, makes sense not use the mobile to pay.

An addition about something that makes no sense and makes you look like a fool: sitting down in the middle of a theatre or bench. One of two things will happen: a) you will have people crawling over you, or b) you will be asked to move down and everyone around you will silently laugh at you for not following the rules. Please do not be that person, even if no one asks you to move. Slide all the way down or pick a partially filled row if you must be in the middle.

Randy, The world is not really filled with A/holes but for the ones that are here, they are strategically scattered around the globe and you will run into at least one a day. Yep, I feel ya on that. The more dense the crowds at any venue, the A/hole ratio goes up geometrically and you will always encounter that "one guy." Most annoying is the foreign visitor who feigns ignorance. They know better but play the "I no understand card."
@madderandmadder

@@rooftopvoter3015 I've seen Americans speaking perfect English up until then pretend that they're foreign and pull the "I don't speak english" card when a cast member asked them to move from a VIP section before. They learn the language real quick when a security guard shows up. It's just disheartening that there are people out there willing to ruin the magic of Disney just to make it more convenient for themselves.

I remember I was waiting in line to see Donald and he was my all time favorite character. As soon as I got in line, the cast member explained that he was about to leave but will go down the line to say goodbye. I had my camera out taking a video on selfie mode so I could screenshot a picture of us later and Donald actually stopped for the photo! Gave me a kiss on the cheek and everything! I was so excited. One of my best memories at Disney.

WDW needs to have a big number screen above the pick up counter for their mobile order system because the pickup line is always congested with people waiting for their food orders even though it might not be ready yet. And if it’s so loud at the food counter, it’s difficult to hear the cast member calling out your order numbers.

Yes! We used mobile order at Casey's Corner last month, and it was crowded and impossible to hear. I thought I heard my number so I approached the counter. It turns out a mis-heard, and the CM felt the need to give me attitude about it in front of 50 or so other people. That was not-so-magical.

I didn't like flight of passage cause the 3D glasses didn't fit perfectly over my regular glasses. I could tell that it should have been spectacular, but at certain angles that I looked at, it was just fuzzy, so it didn't give me that hyper realistic view everyone says it has. That being said, the queue for that ride is amazing and I'd recommend going first thing in the morning, no fast pass. We waiting just an hour and most of that line time was slowly walking through the queue.
