There's little to no Pokestops in residential areas. There's a park near my house that's a Pokestop, but nothing else. When I go downtown, there's gyms and Pokestops EVERYWHERE.
Level has nothing to do with Pokemon rarity, just CP. A level 3 player and a level 20 player can be standing side by side in a spot where a wild Dragonite spawns, and they're both going to see it. The Dragonite for the level 3 player will likely be a much lower CP than the one the level 20 player sees, but the location a Pokemon spawns isn't player-specific unless it's due to incense or a lure module. Otherwise, every Pokemon that pops up on the map is in a fixed location for a pre-determined amount of time and any player that is in range during the time that Pokemon is present will see it.
IF YOU TAP ON A MISSED POKEBALL AFTER THROWING IT THERE'S A CHANCE YOU GET IT BACK HOW'S THAT FOR A HOT TIP EDIT: People are saying it doesn't work, and after further testing, I found out that it's only a CHANCE to get a ball back. I must have gotten lucky while testing. Edited the comment to reflect this.
The correct way to say it is to copy the Japanese pronunciation. ポケモン Po ke mo n ケ or ke is pronounced like the ke in kettle or the ke in pocket (you know, like pocketto monsuta). So the guy nearly says it correctly but he definitely puts too much of a y on it so it becomes more of a pokay instead of a pokeh.
At the beginning of the game you can choose to walk away form the three starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle) and if you go far enough they will follow you but then disapear and youll be able to have a pikachu as a starter
Here are some things I want for Pokemon Go: 1. TURN BASED BATTLING!! I think that the current battling system is just spamming attacks and is no fun, it would improve the game by a mile! I also hope that they do this with wild Pokemon too, instead of just throwing pokeballs 2. TRAINER BATTLES. It would be awesome to be able to fight trainers along the way and much more. 3. LEVELING UP SYSTEM! This would establish an easier and much more fun way to level up Pokemon. Instead of CP, you can have levels, and this level would work with your stats like speed and SP attacks, and so on. And I really don't like candies and stardust and such. 4. POKE CENTERS. These are places like pokestops but instead heal your Pokemon. You should be able to go to poke centers scattered across the land to heal Pokemon and also instead of just accessing the shop from your GUI you should be able to walk to poke marts which to me would be more work but way more fun and cooler! DO THIS NINTENDO!
Basically the game should have been much closer to previous pokemon games, and not simply a reskin of Ingress. I would also like to weaken pokemon by battling them, and then catching them.
They won't do it. For a simple reason, Pokemon GO was made to create a new way to play pokemon. The goal isn't to replace their existing products on mobile phone. So stop expecting pokemon GO to look like other pokemon games because it won't happen.
The only ones I think they won't do are the turn based battles and the level system. Healing pikésyops don't sound like a bad idea and everyone wants to be able to battle their friends. It would be great.
I live in Bermuda and although the game is setup here there are no sidewalks and the streets are very dangerous to walk on so I cant play unless I am already out
i found a cool trick if you rapidly tap the bottom right corner of your screen AKA under the sightings bar your avatar will slowly move around without you moving and if you stop tapping your avatar will stand still for awhile and then move back to your location.
The fact that they say that abilities when evolved are randomized, I found that when you evolve a drowzie with pound and psybeam you can get shadowball as ur special all other combos will give u the opposite for example (drowsie with confusion and psychic = Hypno with zen headbutt and psybeam) and vice versa
Wow! Thank you. I just got this game yesterday, and played it a lot today. I even had it on the bus going down high street. I found one sign that I was able to get, and I found two gyms. Thank you for these tips.
i got a pikachu when i started from knowing this: when the game gives you the starter pokemon to catch, (charmander, bulbasaur, and squirtle.) run away from the pokemon 4 times. the game will try to jump them back to you. the fourth time they jump back pikachu will be with them. enjoy your new pikcahu!
For everyone commenting on the way he pronounces "Pokémon", he pronounces it correctly, even though with a little too much enfasis on the "é", sometimes. The proper way to pronounce "Poké" is the same as you pronounce "Pocket" (without the "t"). "Pokémon" stands for "Pocket Monsters".
Their actually a way for you to have Pikachu as your starter Pokemon instead of the original 3. All you have to do is walk away from the three(causing them to disappear) at least 4 times. After that Pikachu should appear among the starters
Things wrong in the video: The higher rarity pokemons as you get higher level is false, everyone encounters the same pokemons despite levels... And the distance of an egg varies between 2, 5 and 10. Not 2 to 5. Pokemons are close when 1 footprint is displayed, not 2. If the box in the bottom corner blinks that means it refreshed, not that you're getting closer.
the CP changes depending on your level, but even if one person is lvl 20+ and someone else is just level 10, you will both see the same pokemon no matter how rare it is.
This game is helping me condition for cross country. Normally I'm really lazy during the off season but I've actually started prepping because I want more Pokemon.
Dude if you want to be a football player don't waste it and train your mental to become a football player. If i was in you position i totally skipped this game and trained all day long everyday to be better.
You can call a eevee 3 different names for the 3 different evolutions - Rainer: Vaporeon - sparky: Jolteon and finally pyro: Flareon - after u rename them then u close ur tab and then reopen it to make sure the name is there then evolve (each of the names can only be used once) 😄
When you first start playing the game it has 3 Pokemon and he tells you to tap on one, but if you keep walking they teleport with you and after they do it five times pikachu spawns
Pokemon Go had so much potential, but the wild encounters are just flinging a ball and the gym battles are just tapping the screen. :( All they had to do was have proper battling like from the other games and it would be perfect.
I didn't really have my hopes up or any expectations, I just see Pokemon Go and all it's potential put to waste IMO. But many people do like it so at least there's that, but it's not for me.
That's the reaction they wanted from you. If you miss the traditional battle system, then you're more likely to buy their upcoming release-Pokémon Sun and Moon.
That's the problem though, I don't have and will never have a 3DS, I'm not big on Nintendo games at all except for Pokemon so it would be a massive waste of money for me. The Citra emulator is coming along nicely though but in the meantime my Pokemon experience is with PokeMMO and Pixelmon.
While that may be your opinion, a completely understandable one at that, the truth is that because the game actively requires moving around to specific places in the real world, much of the gameplay had to be simplified so it can be easily and therefore safely played while walking. Also, because there is a large emphasis on catching absolutely every Pokémon you find and not just the new ones, the actual process of cathching had to be something quick that still required some amount of skill, luck, and only up to a minute of patience. Because the aspects of capturing Pokémon were required to be like this for the game to be playable with the intent it was made, likewise battles also had to be changed. And the most well-known feature of the game still remains, that being type matchups (correct me if I'm wrong). Because part of the game's theme is "Pokémon in the real world," it made sense that the actual combat did consist of moving your Pokémon around the arena and launching as many attacks as possible (not too much unlike Mystery Dungeon, Pokén Tournament, or the anime), as opposed to the turn-based systems of the main series games (and TCG) that are more metaphors for actual combat then they are accurate representations of a battle.
It also doesn't tell you that when you go to battle a gym when you select you Pokemon in the top right there is an AR mode so you can see the gym battle on your camera... I accidentally did this while battling a gym. And I was so confused until i saw the AR mode in the top right
Could be footage recorded from more than one phone/account, yknow. :P May have used a high level character to show the doduo, but a low level phone/account to hunt out a pidgey easier
Spatakey I know someone that live at THREE pokestop, meaning he can play the game without even moving from his home, he got pokemon at the pokestop, have plenty of xp and all and i'm pretty envious
Sometimes but more often than not, the longer distance eggs just have a lot more candy in them. A 5km egg usually has around 10 extra candy and a 10km egg usually has around 30 extra. At least in my experience.
I found a cool feature ;) THE DEVS DONT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE IN RURAL AREAS, AND MAKE IT SO THERE ARE NO POKEMON OR GYMS AND STOPS FOR MILES. Thought I might point that out :(
all of the data for locations was imported from a game called Ingress. pokestops and gyms are portals in ingress and were submitted by the player base. if you dont have any nearby them that means that no ingress player submitted a portal creation request in your area
You do know this game runs off of how much cell data is being used right? Why use server power putting pokemon in the middle of a corn field when nobody is going to be there.
Yeah I call that the "Doom Zoom." Just wait until the white icon in the top left corner disappears. Even though your connection with the server has probably dropped, your game will have saved that you caught it and spent items doing so. Closing out the app too early can make you lose both the items AND the pokemon you "caught".
if you stop rapidly tapping the bottom right corner and start rapidly tapping the bottom left corner your avatar will stay there and not move and the only way to get your avatar unstuck is to rapidly tap the bottom right corner of your screen while tilting your phone left and right but then my avatar was moving all over the place and didn't stop for stop until 2 in a half minutes pasted
ive found that exiting the app and getting back into gain mean about 200-300 metres on all my eggs whilst the gps locates where i am, so i can just sit in my house and hatch bulk eggs lol
waiting for an answer to this... also sometimes the pokeball will start the shaking animation, never do it, and freeze the game, leaving you with no pokemon.
+Forest Que + its a portmanteau of pocket monster, which isnt pronounced as pockeet. Then again, it's a brandname and names are pronounced different by different cultures.
