I live here and love this town. There are so any thing to do and there is virtually no crime. You can actually let your kids play outside and not be afraid for their safety. The town has done an excellent job in preserving its history.
Truly loved it. I have an annual pass for the dog beach at the inlet and we enjoy the pet-friendly restaurant Hidden Treasures Restaurant and Rum Bar. Forgot to mention who Ponce De Leon is and why he is celebrated. For me he was the mayor of Puerto Rico before he landed in the U.S. mainland; St. Augustine, FL. As a prominent Spaniard, Ponce eventually was named Governor of Puerto Rico by King Ferdinand in 1511. Then In 1513 by stepping foot in Florida, Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León, by many accounts, discovered mainland America. Puerto Rico became a colony of the U.S. in 1493 that is why this dedication of this lighthouse is much revered by many. I was born in NY but my ancestors fought and died in the Korean War, World 1 and II. God Bless America!
Great video! I love this place! Too bad you could not show the turtle science museum, maybe an update soon? My favorite place because it is hands on for the kiddos and they have an extra bonus of a bird exhibit! Thank you!
Fantastic Vlog!!! We love Ponce Inlet! So Pretty we have been there several times on our treks to St Augy. We took the water taxi to and from the rest. So nice!! Your channel is so great, and you are doing so much for showing others the beauty of Florida. So appreciative!! ;)
Definitely should have mentioned “Hidden Treasures Restaurant and Rum Bar”. I am from Illinois and every time I come to Florida (once or twice a year) I always stop by for some gator bites or their stuffed chicken! Yum! And BEAUTIFUL scenery. Watch out for Joey! (Big white stork like bird) He flies in for lunch and dinner and can purchase fresh shrimp to feed him!
I've been to the top on the Ponce Inlet lighthouse a few times. My daughter loves going in the house to see the cat that lives there. I like reading about the history on the boards in the homes there
Pounce Inlet itself doesn’t have any hotels. You may want to check vacation rental websites for places to stay. The nearest hotels can be found on A1A to the north in Daytona Beach Shores.
I know some have seen the post about The Christmas Star appearing this year on December 21st. I couldn't help but really take a deeper look at how amazing that this occurrence would be happening in the year 2020. In the year when Jesus was born, there was violence, chaos, political and social unrest. It was dark. The Magi found him by way of the star, which was the "meeting" of 3 stars: Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. They followed the star until it rested on where he was and they began to worship him. In a time where is was dark, Light was brought in to our world. Jesus stepped in to the chaos and brought peace. Fast forward to this year, 2020. It's a time of violence, chaos, political and social unrest. It is dark. Winter Solstice, December 21st, being a time where the day is the shortest and night is the longest...it's literally the "darkest day" and is the beginning of what most would say the cold, dark winter season. But on the darkest day this year, Jupiter and Saturn meet, giving us the Christmas Star! How fitting...that in the moment of time during the Christmas season that we get to see this beautiful reminder...that even in the darkest of times...Light will, and has, stepped in. In our chaos He is there. In our darkest time, He is there. He brings Light, and makes all things new. So as you look out on Dec 21st for the Christmas Star, may we be reminded of His power, and His Light that he brings for all mankind. He is perfect at stepping into chaos and bringing it into peace.
