8 Tips For Hiring a Contractor! (Don't Make THESE MISTAKES!)

Hi bud! I watch every video you make, but I'll be honest... this one didn't excite me ONLY BECAUSE I will never be in a position to build a home, or remodel one for that matter. Disability does not pay well, haha. Having said this, I can honestly say that I was wrong. This may very well be in my top 10 videos you've done. This was very informative and I feel like it is transferable to many things in life from building a home, to buying a car or finding a doctor for that matter. You want to know that you can communicate with them, that they understand what your needs are and are willing to help you find whatever it is. A lot of it boils down to finding a person that is honest, skilled, willing to talk to you and you can be assured that they know their stuff and won't steer you wrong. Your insight into all of the areas from being accessible to your homeowner, being respectable and respectful, your willingness to keep them up to date and advise them as to what is needed from them and how to get that task achieved on time and on budget, is SO valuable to all of us. As I said, this relationship between yourself and your client and your knowledge and reputation is so transferable. Thank you for another video where you've broken things down into language everyone can understand and follow. I've said this before and will say it again, the fact that you have such talented craftsmen as subs and that they've been with you for a long time speaks to your character, your reputation and the way you treat others. I'm picking up the keys to my newly constructed home on Monday. I am looking for a contractor to finish off my basement. The builder doesn't finish basements. It's a partially custom home and I'm glad you put out these videos.
