It would help if you listed the diameter including the wire, the number of turns, and the outside length from first wrap to the last wrap. I can figure out the outside diameter pretty easy, but the other two dimensions are important.

John Stein thank you sir 😊 that's one of the reasons why I'm making these videos. So as to hopefully encourage other ham radio operators to do the same and save a few bucks at the same time. Many of us purchased commercially made antennas in the past and continue to do so. But in my opinion antenna making has fallen to the wayside. It's a lot of fun and frustrating at the same time lol! I'm currently working on a couple of baluns for my buddipole and hopefully I can get the videos up soon thanks again 73 😊

That's a great homebrew improvement to the existing commercial antenna. Mike do you have a formula for calculating the coil's wire length to exact 25ft. The reason I ask is b/c I own buddipole that comes with a standard 22" arms and 6ft whip. Your set up with the extended arms and a longer whips amounts to the 202''. Mine would be much shorter to the exact - 112''. According to the instructions available on the buddipole.com, a user can make an 80m buddistick with the use of standard length accessories along with their low band coil. So I was thinking to make a longer coil for standard arms and whip. If you or anybody else have formula how to properly calculate it , I'd greatly appreciate it :D Thank you 73's

Very Nice bit of kit. I think you said in the video you have a web page or pdf with instructions for this coil. Can you supply the link for that please oh Dark Lord.

Chris Bull 😂 lol! No problem at all. I used 1" 1/2 PVC wrapped with 25ft of 14 gauge THHN stranded, all the materials can be found at Home Depot including the hardware but I chose to use stainless Hardware that I ordered off of eBay. In this project i used a 3/8x24 antenna stud kit from firestik with additional hardware. If you need more information in detail, my email is good on QRZ 😊

You didn't tune around much to see if you could make a contact for the video. We all know that SWR can be good but efficiency still sucks

Can't tell if is in ssb or am, in ssb you should @ least whistle in the mic for the modulation to come up vs am you can only pres the ptt.

Interesting there is a choke at the base with all that feedline. I would think they were using the shield for a counterpoise.

It has a counterpoise and it was mentioned in the video.

Thanks for the video! I believe you mentioned 33 feet of counterpoise? The low band coil has a note that you use the 66 foot counterpoise kit. In fact, 234/3.5 = 66 feet. Where am I misunderstanding this?
