In this video, I just share some of my succulents that I moved indoors in preparation for a storm passing by for the day. I also shared some of my other succulents outdoors that were fully established and strong enough to handle strong winds and a whole lot of rain. I also share succulent names so you can take note if you want to ID your succulents as well, in case you have them in your succulent collection. #succulent #storm #succulentnames

They do! They looked a lot bigger to me too when placed in a smaller space. 😅 The rosettes did open a bit though while they hung out indoors for 2 days. But they are all well went back outdoors.

I adore the Fred Ives when they get 14" tall with a sturdy tall stem and the beautiful rosette on top. The babies look pretty growing around them. It is a super fun contrasting height in a pot or in the ground (to me) and they do not seem to mind tons of rain if in 90% pumice/soil. We get around 52" of rain a year and they've thrived that long here. My friend has had them in the ground with her sprinkler hitting it (with the rain never protecting it) two times a week and then the rain. It never gets sick for her. They've thrived for me about a year. I love when they get a little purple!

Absolutely agree! Little or no water, my Fred Ives thrive! Definitely a perfect succulent for beginners and propagates really well too! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching 😊💚

I guess the weather is crazy these days. Here, too, it is suddenly hot, then it pours a lot of rain and it is hot again. Your succulents have also been burned a lot. I'm worried about your succulents because the typhoon is also passing, but I hope that the succulents can spend the summer well.♥♥🙏🙏

Haha! Never under estimate a storm even if they say it won't be that bad! Our babies are not staying outdoors haha! I was so tired after moving them in, then back out again 2 days later lol! 😅😅😅

@@TheseSucculentBuddies I agree! I've seen "heavy" things fly with our typhoons and I can't imagine that landing on our babies. Losing a leaf by accident makes me cringe, what more smashing the whole plant. Glad your babies are safe. ❤

Sudden change from extreme heat to rain or vice versa is a deadly combo for our succulents. Most of my casualties were victims of this combo.
@TheseSucculentBuddies
@TheseSucculentBuddies 3 года назад
Yes, and it's been like that daily too! Extremely hot day with no breeze at all, then a sudden downpour. It's so hot, that if it only rains a little, it just causes the cement to steam and makes it worse! Ever experienced that? 😕
@albertcalibo

@@TheseSucculentBuddies you just described our weather condition in the PHL. 🤣 That's the kind of weather that we face for 6 months or more annually.

hi sis! Just watch this and compared it to the picture I sent you and yes it looks like sunburn than fungus. Thank you so much! Having a hard tume to identify succies problems 😅
@TheseSucculentBuddies
@TheseSucculentBuddies 3 года назад
Yes, crassulas/jade especially are prone to sunburn if they are not used to a lot of natural sunlight. Just try placing it in a shady area that gets bright light, but not direct, during the hot season. You can start acclimating to sunlight when the weather gets a bit cooler so they don't burn. Goodluck with them! 😊

There is a beautiful plant that u have that I must know they ID.it was green with brown edges, the leaves were shaped like tea cups that were holding water. It was located on top of the white shelf u have outside. Please tell me whats that called. I need that in my life!😁

What part of the world do you live? I'm in Central Florida and the heat and rain have not ruined the succulents under my oak but the new ones without cover are having symptoms like yours. It's not too bad but I'm watching them carefully every day to see if I need to pull any out to get it acclimated. I'm loath to see them scarred but I'm willing to endure it if I do not have to pull them out and they survive. :)

I'm in Guam. Tropical weather surrounded by the pacific with similar weather conditions like Florida and Hawaii. Very hot and humid, and when it rains, it pours! Hope your babies do well in the heat. They really just need time to properly acclimate. I start with 2 hours of morning sun normally in the spring or fall seasons, but the ones I just tried acclimating during our hot summer got sunburn.
