The Edison Disc, also known as a Diamond Disc record, was a type of audio disc record marketed by Edison Records from 1912 to 1929. They were known as Diamond Discs because the reproducer fitted to the matching Edison disc player was fitted with a diamond stylus.

Your disc is 82134, released in July 1918. Edison did make a number of disc with the explanatory talk on one side.

Moving the camera around as you do creates a variation in sound, tone, and volume. This is such an exquisite recording that you distort its significance. Still, I give you a thumbs up!!

So why don't YOU find the record and record it to your satisfaction rather than bitch about someone who didn't do it exactly how you wanted it?

Did you set the speed to 80.00 RPM? I have an AT-LP120. I used a multispeed strobe to help me make a speed guide that fits into the recess for the pitch control slider. I marked several of the more common oddball speeds on it.

This song could use a rap break IMHO.

My Cheech & Chong, Up in Smoke LP has a badly off centered groove similar to the Freda Hempel diamond disc. I used a chainsaw file to center the grooves better so the music parts didn't go off pitch.

The side with no label sounds like a description of the song with the label.

The label fell off. That happens all the time with Edison records

@@hyzercreekyeah but this record was made before the paper label Edison records which first appeared in the very early 1920s

Well I made this video a year or so ago now, I am just re posting all my videos again on this channel after RU-vid took down my lfmudge channel i had had up for years with over 1.5 million views. From what I can remember I played both sides of this record. I lost all my descriptions when they took down my channel.lucky I save most of my videos .. Hopefully at a later date I can update all the information.

Nice recording. Very quite for a diamond disc. Slightly off center also odd.

The label was peeled off, it is common with these records.

You shouldn't use steel needles on diamond discs.
