Nah he's the same on a modern board, maybe not quite as good. He's skating what works for him. There's a reason he only skates the same old school deck over and over. Only the Steve Saiz.

I get this impulse, I personally realllly don't like the old school board nostalgia, I skated them at the time, and when double tails and steeper concaves came out my skating got soooo much better. i personally have no fondness for them at all, but vic rips so hard and you can find vids of him skating modern decks if you look, he doesn't skate them quite as well

He rides for Powell Peralta so I can see why he came about skating there reissues. I get what you're saying though, and I think seeing those reissues are cooler on a era appropriate setup with big 80s wheels and big riser pads, while doing old school 80s style skateboarding. Just my opinion but at the end of the day as long as he's having fun skating these is all that matters.

I don't think any of them were. Maybe Rodney Mullen did, but, I'm pretty sure the earliest tre flips were done in the early '90's on popsicle boards. I believe Jason Lee(my name is Earl) had the first in a video part.

Most weren’t doing these types of tricks besides maybe Rodney Mullen in the 80s.
