A detailed video of the teardown and rebuilding of an 80 series climate control unit. This is useful for changing lights bulbs, swapping out switches or any other issues. Unit is out of a 1994 FZJ80 but the units are likely the same for most 80 series.

Helpful video. I found it looking for some step on replacing the buttons but this is a great vid for most aspects of the module. Nice job.

Just rewatched the video. VERY niice. I have to go in an re-solder the lights, mine are dead. My buttons are also trashed so I need to find some that actually say something! :)

Excellent video, very informative! My HDJ81 has the “Auto” feature but I haven’t run it much in auto. I will test this out next time I am in the LC. Thank you for posting.

Hey @john, are the lights for the buttons just standard LEDs? I need to de-solder and replace all of mine and I'd like to get the parts before I tear it apart. Thanks!

Greetings, my problem in this case is that the blower speeds only work in Low and Hi The resistor module control was changed and it remains the same, I understand that the problem may be in the switches I wonder is there a way to repair them?

Thank you thank you Thank You, I was struggling with this and even put it back in the truck knowing the top row buttons wouldn't stay in or illuminated..... the Auto climate button trick fixed that !! Thank you Thank you .... subscribed !!

I have a interesting one John. After work was done on my dash, the climate control lights shut down after about 30min of driving. Could it be the plugs are not correctly seated in the unit? Thanks!
