Mate that was the second time through we got through the first time and around the corner was twice as bad so we turned around and hit it again and yes uncagedWildcat we made it through again.
That’s a gut wrenching feeling watching the water rising over the bonnet and knowing you still have some distance to cover not even knowing where the road is . There is a feeling of great relief when the water starts to go down . Oh and never touch the clutch or you will swim the rest of the way. Well done !!
Just as they tried again a huge Croc 🐊 swam thru the winders and eat city dude. Congrats, water in the differential, and axels, tranny. Great video though.
Love seeing all the non-Aussie's in the comments complaining that you're an idiot, but this is honestly almost the norm when travelling through the Northern parts!
I'm from the other side of the world, and I have FULL respect for what's going on here! What cracked me up the most was the steady stream of bubbles right in front of the windshield from the last trapped pockets of air in the engine compartment! :-)
Is it a coincidence that the blow arse Land Rover extremists, purists and die hards are circumspect in coming to the defense of the dreaded green badge of unreliability ?!
My F250 is allergic to water any deeper than a dime! It broke down just watching this video! It breaks down when there’s a cloud in the sky! Not much beats an 80 series Diesel Toyota Landcruiser!
Lacky Parker Yeah should never have sold my 93 1HD-T 4.2. Turbo Diesel cruiser! Best damn vehicle I’ve ever owned before or since! Thinking of selling the F250 to buy a 200 series TD cruiser!
for the first 30 seconds i though thats not deep, then they started floating, then paddling, then treading water. Huge respect but i would have had someone ready on the other side with a winch line just in case.
THAT was bad ass! How does the radiator fan cope? Does it just stall with the fan clutch? How permanent is your snorkel? Is is glued tight with silicone?
the proper old school way to do this is the cover the front of the car with a canvas trap. From under the front edge of the bonnet, up over the buulbar and down to the front bash plate, even with the antennas. The idea is to keep water out of the engine bay. Makes these deep water crossings so much easier.
Ted s, What used to happen was water coming through the radiator would hit the fan, this caused the fan to flex forwards and rip holes in the radiator. Also batteries don't usually like getting dunked. I guess modern vehicles have gizmoes to prevent this. My 100 series does not. Like I said, I prefer old school, it ends up being safer for me.
Been really funny if a crocodile swam across your hood and you seen it thru the windshield, just at the time when you weren't sure you were going to make it. Lol.
great attempt with good end..for these that it is normal to not know how this car can do this..1) is the best quality construction that have from toyota factory 2)if you give breath to the engine during diving you dont have any problem especially if is in diesel.(all boats use diesel engines and because do not have sparkplugs and sparks are more safe for run underwater if the suction of the air remain still to the atmosphere) 3) the car probably has extension breathers /snorkels to transmission box,to front and rear diff,4) if you run the fan to have positive pressure inside cabin in recycle mode (this tip helps to keeps the water outside)in combination with the sealing good condition of the rubbers around the doors ,from the factory then you have a reliable car that you can do amazing things thanks to toyota motor corporation.the car can do more things than ever imagine his driver..our fears stop us before the car arrive to her unlimited area).Go on my friend. but i would prefer to see this amazing video also from one external camera
I know this feeling very well I’ve done this a few times in my 909 Kenworth over the bonnet leaping the windscreen. Shitttttttttting my self look away crocks😳
It's a landcruiser ... It could go a lot deeper than that .... I've seen one with two guys driving it flooded underwater along a river bed with scuba tanks ...The cruiser had a 14ft snorkel!!!!!!
Reminded me of crossing the border at Camooweal Qld/NT. I'm a Ford 😂 I was completely submerged. My kids luckily were in semi Rd train that was towing me! Lol the truckies said my car wouldn't start. It did!! Drove us all the way to Darwin through storms & all!! Gotta love the wet season. This was in 2003 before hway upgrade. I drive a fancy Toyota landcruiser prado now. But miss my ford.
Gary Vallone Luckily the brilliant Toyota Landcruiser engineers thought of this decades ago and put the fans on a clutch so they stop spinning in the water. Landcruisers are epic vehicles.
Back in the day when they made real 4 x 4's. The old 84 model tray back cruiser made it through water that was 4" up the windscreen and had NO SNORKEL. A new 4 by got no chance I recon
I thought this would be a good start for the grandkids to see what they may encounter on the Cape. Then the fool swore, kids were disgusted and I stopped the video, typed a hint to the producer (sic) and went else where. Didn't even mute it and see the rest. Why do people swear and put it up on social media without warning us.
***** the British couldn't design a car this good to save their lives, land rovers a shitty unreliable pieces of junk. Same with Jaguars, Aston martins etc...
Anyone want to explain how that thing kept going? The hood was submerged, and I'm sure water should've been sucked into the engine bay. Correct me if I am wrong but the pistons can't compress water, so shouldn't it bend/snap, and wreck your engine?
Holy shit, you guys down there get a cloudy day and everything is under a meter of water! need more hills. How often do you change the axle fluids and such or are they all vented up high?
Me : will it be possible to reach there ? Landcruiser : it's just water on the ground. And I can run through the ground. That's why I am landcruiser dude . 🤣🤣🤣🤣😃
Enjoy removing ALL of your floor matting, seats, draining your diffs, gearbox, transfer case, re packing your bearings, drying out your alternator, and every other time consuming thing required to not have the old girl let you down after a 'swim'... Been there, not worth the hastle... Brave move not having your windows wound down. If she had floated into deeper water, you'd have had a task on your hands getting out before you drown...
