The guy in the red shirt talking about his mothers loss hits very hard. I (age 36) just lost my dad 2 weeks ago (age 78). It's so fresh I can't wrap my head around to write a great comment right now. But my dad was very healthy and active along with my grandma, his mother... who is currently alive at 97 almost 98. A lot of my grandmas siblings are alive and are in their 90s including one that is 102 and healthy. Being so adapted to my dads side of the family having this longevity, I didn't think about how lucky it is for my dad to have his whole life with his mom around.

bullshit The only knowledge they have is knowledge of their own life at a perspective of how they lived through it. Think for yourself and think yourself. In my country old people are the most vulnerable part of society. They are not used to certain threats like social engineering that were not present during their younger days. You get experience and learn everyday and old people loose their ability to learn new things the older they get. The world around you changes every day and you must adapt to it constantly. Most old people either refuse to adapt or fail to do so. They are stubborn and their experience gets dated and useless as time advances.

I lost my mom suddenly to a heart attack last October. She was only 62 and healthy. No signs or symptoms, it was a day like any other. One minute I was talking to her while she was eating and drinking water on her bed. I walked into my room for a minute and when I came out she was gone. You really never know, my life has never been the same since. She was my best friend, my mom, my teammate and we loved each other deeply. I can’t explain the feeling I have now that she’s gone. Right. But what I find so interesting is how the younger generation is complaining about being lonely as well. It’s a really sad thing to think about when you really look at the reality of what the younger generation will experience when they are this old. We all have to start prioritizing giving genuine love to one another that has no strings attached. It’s worth it in the end.

@@1armeddrummerinaprisonrock244 People shouldn't have kids just so they have someone to take care of them as they age. That's the same as a person getting married just so they have someone to take care of them. Very selfish and entitled. I wish I remembered the source, but I came across a study surveying people in their 70s, 80s, and 90s that asked them what time of their lives they missed the most. The most common response was their 30s. They missed having people rely on them, need them. They missed having responsibility and a sense of purpose. I'm in my 30s now. The things that tend to stress me out the most are having so many responsibilities and having people relying on me. Learning about this study helped me appreciate that the things that stress me out today may be the things I one day miss the most. Ultimately, I've learned that every stage of life has special aspects that we can enjoy, and a secret to happiness is focusing on those things that we have worked hard for and on those things we may someday miss - even if they're imperfect or cause us stress. It's a helpful practice to frequently reflect on the things we take for granted and to express gratitude for those things.

In my job as a doctor, I am fortunate to get to talk with the elderly about their loves and worries and fears often. As a 31 year old, I think something I try to do is not to think as these people as old people who are seeing me, but people my age who are now in an old person’s body. That closes the perceived distance which, to be perfectly honest, is an illusion because we’re all closer than we think to each other. This was a wonderful video.

Yes, I grew up without grandparents and then had the chance to spend a lot of time with my elderly parents - if you have patience, which is sometimes required, you will get amazing wisdom, advice, stories - and knowledge - even if you are treating them medically, I am amazed at how aware older people are of their own bodies, time, limits, what they need to keep them going and strong. All our problems today is the result of 40 years of neoliberal rightwing success. The Reagan policies left everyone behind but the wealthy owners. Until then the U.S. economy was the greatest economy in world history. After we went from the biggest lender nation to the biggest debtor nation and never looked back. The wealthy and business elites know exactly what has happened. They just don’t want the public to know how badly the wealthy have screwed them. That would cause a great revolution.

I'm "only" 60, but I see people around my age falling apart because they sit too much and don't exercise. Walking is a great exercise - brisk walking, not just strolling with the dog. If you can, you should take your body for a walk every day, and lift weights a few times a week. Now the rubber is really hitting the road, and I see the difference between people who have treated their bodies well and those who drugged and drank and overate. Bodies are just machines, after all.

I'm "only" 61, but I'm one of those people who seems so much older😅 Here's what I did wrong: Ignored health concerns since age 18 Believed doctors..."they MUST know!" Put people's needs before my own Stopped doing yoga Stopped learning Karate Stopped walking, dancing, riding bikes Stopped drinking 6 to 8 straight water Etc etc🤦🏽‍♀️ All I can tell anyone out there is... Make your health... mental, physical, emtional and spiritual... make those your priorities. Put those things at the top of your list. Be good to you. Neglect leads to being a prisoner of bad health within your own body. My aunt lived 101 years old and she had a great nugget of wisdom too. She said "Everything you do or say in this world, good or bad, you always get it back... in a different way, but it always comes back to you! Be kind as much as you can... It means everything." ❤

He didn’t talk about it much because he was a “tough guy” and very old school, but you could tell. But I don’t think my grandma could bear losing anyone else. It was a gift in a way since my whole life I wasn’t very close to my grandpa, mostly my grandma because he was much I’m more introverted in a sense. When she passed he moved in with us and it gave my mom and I a chance to know him better before he passed a few years later. I'm 45 and female. My advice ro younger people is take care of your health,exercise and eat well. In middle age you will likely have joint pain,bad back, neck, knees or something. So build up your fitness and strength while young to hopefully prevent or delay these issues. Females will lose bone mass with estrogen loss in middle age so do your weight bearing exercise to help prevent bone loss. Also, look up perimenopause and familiarise yourself to the weird symptoms and find a Doctor knowledgeable about menopause and HRT. So many have no clue.

For anyone watching this and feeling utterly heartbroken at the loneliness some of these people feel, I'd urge you to give some of your time reaching out to your grandparents, or elderly neighbour's, or give time to your local aged care home. I visit a few residents fortnightly in an aged care facility close to my house and I can't tell you how much I enjoy my visits with them, and they have told me the same. I've been cheated on, physically and sexually abused, stolen from, etc. There are some seriously bad people out there and many of us encounter them when trying to have relationships. Not everyone is single because they're too picky. I'd love to meet a nice, kind, normal man but it has never happened for me.

This one I identify with … I lost my husband three years ago this July 17th 2021 … and it’s so hard! He was 78 and at the time I was 73. Massive heart attack … gone suddenly … to say the least … I was in shock for a year at least! My world was turned upside down! Your feelings don’t die with them … we were married 40 years and I miss him so much! I love your vlog … very enlightening and since I am now 76 … easy to understand their views! Thank You for doing this! You’re helping a lot of people … 🌈🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸

I'm exactly the opposite. I was suddenly widowed in 2018 after 32 years together, most of those married. I'd love another partner, I miss the sense of being someone's favourite person.
@duke613
@duke613 16 дней назад
@@sonyavincent7450 Everyone is different. If you had a good relationship you were lucky. It doesn't happen to the vast majority of people because monogamous relationships just do not work for the most part. It's not natural for humans. Those still married after decades, many are mostly roommates. i know more divorced people than married people. I am a sociable introvert. I like people and socialize but need my alone time. I just cannot imagine being legally bound to another human being for potentially the rest of my life, living day in and day out, every day seeing that person and not having my personal space and freedom. Some people NEED to constantly be with someone and that is beyond comprehension to me. Living together full time is a relationship killer for many people. To each their own but I've never felt more inner peace than when I left all that behind.

Someone who will take their advice knowing you can benefit from it. Thanks, enjoy your interviews very much I might add I am almost 76 and these people are spot on!!

Living in the present , being calm, leave the rat race, let those you care about know that you care about them , help out , assist those in need , get 100% out of debt (dont feed the beast by paying interest), pray daily and read from the scriptures, eat right , be acrive , be gratifull, be caring and kind, imagine Jesus the Christ and try to think and act like you imagine he might. Endure to the end .. I'm married to the wife of my youth and the choice of my heart 47 years. Still going strong... knock on wood.. .

These people are so right. I am a 72 year old nurse that chooses to still work, BECAUSE I WANT TO. As long as I can remember, I have had wonder & curiosity. Keep moving, keep exploring. Kindness, empathy. Have a good wholesome code of ethics, be true to yourself, be accountable. Hang out with people that have good, happy personalities, and who are genuinely GOOD. These points of view have served me well. I have been trying to cruise thru life having few regrets; so far no complaints. Thank you for these videos, I REALLY enjoy them.

I lost my grandma exactly 2 months ago today, she was 97 and lived through so many things. I’ll never forget her smile, her hands and her little white head. She taught me, without even realizing it, to enjoy the moment and the simple things, have patience and to always treat older people with love and kindness.

Like one of your guests said, i too never had a real "goal" or "passion" my family is my greatest achievement, i am proud of that. And the way that gentleman spoke of his late wife.... well, that he feels that kind of love, thats one big achievement many will never know.♥️

When my granddad passed my grandma was having a hard time and went to greif counseling. It changed her whole perspective when she realized she was the oldest one in the group therapy session. Although she was still sad, she was incredibly grateful she was able to enjoy such a long life with him. 65 years.

I've learned to take part in my community through volunteer work. This takes effort, effort to maintain relationships that can see you enjoy life through the years ahead. I really appreciate what you are doing Sprouht as you learn and pass on this knowledge.

I am 60. Being kind, advising others about a career. A few time in my life, I have had people come to me years later and say "you have changed my life" and I do not recollect who they are. Usually a simple thing. I had a co-worker come to me and say he was going into university, because I showed him a program and had him learn it, with my help. The guy ROCKS. I tell him to develop an app and present it and make it different. He has changed a few things because he DID it. I just pointed the direction!

What comment resonates with me is the lady who said not to be full of empty pride about your physical and intellectual accomplishments. I find that so true. To me, the greatest accomplishment of my life was caring for my mother and overseeing her affairs for 4 years, of which a portion was during COVID. Just to keep her at home and reduce the risk of her getting COVID to me was part of this accomplishment. She died peacefully under hospice in her home in late 2021. Once she passed and my sibling and I cleared her house and got it sold (both of us could not take on the responsibility and we had to borrow some of the equity from the home to pay for medial expenses) everything I had done before seemed very small or just pleasant and satisfying but not as large an accomplishment as I had thought. To be the best expression of love is to care dearly for the person who cared lovingly for you. Thoughts from a 58 year old who has already lost in the past 14 years his youngest brother (suicide) and parents (both metastatic cancer).
