The more valuable games out his pack I found for cheaper, sometimes even including the Nintendo branded dust cover for essentially free (for example I found Metroid for roughly $30 when he paid $50 and Mike Tyson Punch-Out for roughly $45 when he allegedly paid up to $60). He definitely lost about $220 going with DKOldies rather than just eBay.
@Damian9303 I totally agree. I don't understand how on earth can people think these guys are the best way to buy retro games. You can't even see the exact item you'll be receiving when on their website which means you're most likely going to end up with a banged up, rough looking console and/or games, you're also not getting original accessories and the worst part is everything is overpriced. I recently looked at their prices on a bunch of their stuff and compared it to ebay, the price differences are a joke. Why I earth would I pay 34.99 for donkey kong country for snes on dkoldies when it's on ebay for 20-22 bucks. Some of them come with FREE shipping, 100% positive feedback sellers and I can see exactly what I am getting. Then their website has the audacity to advertise "No one beats our prices." That is the icing on the cake. I understand it's a business and they have to make profit, but there's a line between making profit and just straight up ripping people off and they definitely cross it without hesitation.

@@sammyward8798 Not only that but it's also the shittiest power supply known to man. I got the same one with my NES and it caused lines to show up on the screen because of the noisy power output. This is a known issue with this adapter. I got an original power adapter for $20 from my local retro games store. There's no justification for this.
The total value of this set is far, far less than $800. The only games in the set worth much of anything were 5 screw Metroid and Contra, and combined their value still comes out to less than $100. The fact they came with dust sleeves does not add much to the value. The original Nintendo has way too much cosmetic damage for the amount paid for it. It would sell on Ebay for less than $100. The aftermarket AC adapter can cause noise to appear onscreen because of the bad power output, so it's also worth next to nothing. Everything combined, this entire set would have a hard time selling for over $400. Paying $800 for this is outright burning money.
You paid extra alright 🤣 Unreal how they sent you an NES Console in that shape, considering what you over paid. I’m not trashing your haul, as I love the games and stuff like that, but man there’s SO many better options than over paying from those resellers that truly don’t care once they’ve gotten your money ... the proof is right there in the NES that they sent you.
I feel so sorry for you spent $800-$1,000+ on an old system that you can get for $80-$100 with all of its original wiring & controllers smh those games are like $10-$20 a piece. @@ESFreestyles Inflation is a blanket term at this point. Now a days retro gaming is extremely popular to the point it’s almost main stream. Demand is up so resellers can scalp any somewhat popular game over 10 years in age.

DK charges you extra for the Nintendo sleeve ? It better not be more than a dollar but knowing them they probably charge $10 per sleeve ridiculous my game store gives them to me all I have to do is ask and he will give me one with every game I buy

I got a nes from movie trading company and the thing looks like new no dents or cracks and payed $80 and came with Mario duck game and 2 original controllers
You have the freedom to spend your money as you wish. I also have the freedom to say you got royally ripped off by scam artists when you post the crap they sent you publicly. A fool and his money are soon parted. Nostalgia combined with impulsivity is what these vultures are counting on.

No Idea if you still play the NES but if you ever want an awesome 4 player game, go for Indy Heat. It's the best 4 player game IMO. Then RC Pro AM 2 but that may cost you a leg lol Monster Truck Rally is awesome as well.
I know right, I honestly feel kind of bad for him. Most people nowadays over value their games. Sure he has an average to decent collection but that price was just straight up sad. I'm glad he gets to play them again and he could flex all he wants but he kind of looks like a moron. That's the thing about vintage gaming, people that actually know their stuff know where to look. DKoldies is definitely not the way. They make GameStop look like the Dollar tree.

I dont care how joey spends his money and dk oldies is just trying to make their living. People patronize them by their own free will. I was annoyed at dkoldies though about the NES they sent him. If someone bought 800 worth of shit from me, I would roll out the red carpet, give em the best stuff. The game looked nice, but I guarantee they have hundreds of consoles that arent chipped up. I think that was in poor taste on their part.
Good video. However it make me not want to shop at dkoldies. The games looked decent but the fact that you have upgrade to get official nes controllers and wires is crazy. Yes the nes are old but you pay good money they should give you a decent looking one.
To be fair, you have to remember that the condition that DKOldies gets their games and systems in may not always be the best. They’re inventoried after a function check and I imagine they can’t always be professionally cleaned. From a business perspective I definitely understand charging extra to take the extra time to clean everything like new

They are seperating them and selling the controller at a crazy mark up profit. Also I have a collection where I had games that didnt work to working with in minutes with a little rubbing alcohol and w qtips. Retro stores in my area do not charge there prices and do the if not more to there systems games and accessories

just so you know, the black sleeves aren't necessarily "new"; most sleeves don't have the logo since it's only first party games that came with them. but that's quite a nice collection starter you've got there ❤
Love the video brother! BUT I will say this, if I were to place a high end order, almost closing in at 1k, I would have expected an NES that was in better shape then that. Kind of shitty. And on the other end of it, me being the distributor, I would have made sure to pick out a cleaner NES. Just my thoughts and opinion.

oy this price just about killed me i just got a gold nintendo 64 with 2 oem OEM yes i said it twice how greedy Ive seen alot of their stock they are greedy with the oem controllers they sell those garbage controllers.. so with the system I got the gold one and black controller and 3 games for only $94 I dont think dk oldies can top that they want your soul and return you with third party junk when you buy from them.

I could pay 8 bucks on ebay or buy it from them for 24.... over 3x the price for the same thing. If the disc is scratch I can take it my local pc repair store and have it buffed for a dollar. I just bought a Sega Genesis from Dkoldies. The price range for a good condition rare. I spent about $200 cuz I also bought a Gameboy player for my GameCube. To play Gameboy games on the GameCube. I like the games you choose u got good taste brotha. I miss playing that nes basketball game I remember the cut scenes. When Everytime a player hit the hoop🏀. Best game. There is a device call a PS booster. No many people know and or remember it. It let you play GB/C on ps1. It hooks on the auxiliary port on the back of the ps.
