Kind of inevitable with a list this long. No way the list maker has played all the games to a sufficient degree to actually judge them. So they either judged lots of them based on just first impressions, or compiled various opinions from differing sources.
anyone can help me i looking for a game , i dont remind dhe name but the first mission his jump from helicopter and fight in train, its like a contra type game plss help me i love so much that game i cant remember the name
Thank you so much for taking the time for this. Its incredible. Just so happened to stumble upon an old friend when i needed it 😊 3 of my all time faves to help round out the top 100, as I was waiting for them, Super Spike V-Ball, Darkwing Duck, and Shadowgate. Well played sir.
It is painfully obvious that whoever did this only played 50 of these games and then started guessing where the rest should rank No one who's played Guardian Legend, Shatterhand, Felix the Cat, Duck Tales 2, Little Samson or Track and Field would rank them that low
@@MrBurn360 I remember that game. My brother and I used to rent it at the video store. It's that Robot Baseball Game. The Robots would fight each other if it was a close play at 1st, 2nd, 3rd, home.
Most underrated games because of this list: 3. Elite - are you sure it's that bad? 2. Puzznic - one word. FUN! 1. Crackout - yep, I think you were on Crack when making this list
Apparently the creator wasn't at all serious. And I'm sounding like a broken record, but Excitebike was at #19 which is ahead of Castlevania II and III, Zelda II, ALL the Dragon Warriors, Crystalis, Kirby's Adventure, Battletoads, Shatterhand, etc.... Rampage is also ahead of Ninja Gaiden II. @@907LUNA
Thanks for the great content. I will say I hated Zelda 2 as a kid, but I absolutely love it now and find myself going back to that one more than any other NES game. I would not rank it higher than the original or the majority consensus of the top 10, but it would make my top 10 for sure (over say TMNT the arcade game). I like the original TMNT over the arcade game despite its difficulty. Tecmo Super Bowl would also make my top top and I love that it was #11 on yours. The Dragon Warriors, Star Tropics, Crystalis, Kung Fu, and Wizard and Warriors are all higher for me, but really enjoyed your efforts ranking 800 games! Kudos!
I always loved Zelda 2 but I understand the hate on it. I'm just amazed at DUCK TAILS being 15 when literally Defender of the Crowd can be played forever & never be boring.
I was born in 88, had a new since as young as I can remember but after my parents divorced we were poor and I had to play nes until like 1995/96 and but the SNES was always where it was at for me, nes just sucked imo and I loved going to my buddies or cousins house and playing snes
Legacy of the Wizard (#194) might be the game I logged the most playtime on of all games I've ever played in 30+ years. The puzzles were complex for a 12 year old but I pressed on diligently. I think I spent all of 7th and 8th grade playing that game. Great memories.
I thought it was too easy to go barking up the wrong tree. If you took the wrong character to the wrong section you could spend hours and hours wandering around only to find out there's no way to succeed.
I have a vivid memory of spending endless hours in one of the realms playing the daughter character (because she jumped the highest I think) and I finally got to the crown which was the goal, only to be separated by a single block that I couldn't pass through. Endless hours and to be so close....so close.....and so far away.
Gradius BEFORE Life Force ? Track' n' Field ONE BEFORE the mighty Track' n' Field II ?? These second episodes were so much more advanced than the 1st,... (And I think you did the same with Dble Dragon). Man, you're not serious !! xD I quitted at 200, Nice ranking in general; just think that Snake Rattle N Roll could have been a lot sooner :)
Excuse me... how in the world is the first Ninja Turtles BETTER than games like Kirby's Adventure, Bubble Bobble, Ufouria The Saga and River City Ransom?!
@@Pelcurus I agree, I mean... what the hell!? The only reason I can think of why TMNT 1 is so high is because the game is very nostalgic for the maker of this list (not a bad thing but it is still a worse game than 2 and especially 3)
Instead of quibbling over rankings, I essentially used this very enjoyable montage as a trip down memory lane. The faintest and most distant of memories came burning back to mind 🔥
Battle toads and paperboy above Dragon Warrior??? Dragon Warrior was the first RPG on the console market and brought a lot of things to the genre. And why isn’t Silent Service on the list?
Some of the rankings are wack. Dragon Warrior 3, River City Ransome, and a bunch more games ranked too far down. Fun video overall, thanks for making it
Objectively speaking, you can really only compare "like-games": Games of the same genre: Once you start comparing an RPG to a Sports title to a Platformer, then you're getting into "Subjective" territory. Other factors would be game sales as well as the number of romhacks, which signify how active & passionate the community is about "their game". Also, I think it would be interesting if you ever updated this list to average-out the rating for SERIES & sequels & give them the same Rank (Avg) & show them all together ? However, I do have to give props for being "different" & "breaking the mold": Specifically, doing a "Top 800" is ballzy & ambitious. And going from "Best to Worst" instead of "Worst to Best" is much appreciated, TY !!!
Bold ranking: Super Pitfall. A game that is perpetually in Worst 10's for glitchy gameplay and insane difficulty, getting a respectable #241 out of 800. ... Questionable Ranking: Mig 29: Soviet Fighter. Near the bottom at 752, in spite of solid linear gameplay, decent overhead sections, and a respectable soundtrack. Definitely the best of the worst 100 on this list IMO. ... Sadness Ranking: The Battle of Olympus. My 3rd favorite game on the NES, at a head-scratching 216. ... Needs to be Reranked: All the Baseball games that use the same game engine as Bad News Baseball and Dusty Diamond's Softball and were ranked ahead of the aforementioned two. RBI Baseball may have (I presume) been the first to use this style of Baseball engine, but being the first doesn't necessarily mean being the best.
I'm not sure I'd rank Zelda as No.2, but it's definingly near the top of most-influential. The thing is, it's very much a case of "first" for a lot of concepts that where refined later. Metroid and FF1 are very similar in that regard. Rough, but no one had ever done what they did before in such a visible way (I.E. on a major console like the NES)
@@perrycoffey5410 Hey, I can agree with that, at least in regards to "best game on the system." But most influential? Mario Bros is right up there with Pacman and Tetris. So maybe the title should have been most influential, not the best.
I had never heard of a lot of these games and I'm only halfway through the list. I'd disagree with the placement of some of them strongly. Dragon Warrior 3 and 4 are way too low. The NES was my first console, and all these games would probably fit onto one Switch cartridge.
Mi top 10 1.Contra 2 2.Super Mario 3 3.Adventure Island 1 4. Gun Nac 5.Tiny toon Adventures 6.Contra 1 7.Super Mario Bros 8.Batman 9.Spider man Six returns 10. Kun-Kunio Nekketsu Soccer League.
Solstice (ranked 200) Ufouria (ranked 400) and Galaxy 5000 (ranked 515) are all in my short list of most interesting games for the NES. In their Galaxy 5000 clip, it looks like the player is just whirling out of control with no idea what they're doing. The controls on Galaxy 5000 take a moment to get used to, but it looks like they didnt try. If you give it a little time, its race / combat gaming as good as it gets on NES. F-Zero before F-Zero. Sad to see it ranked below all those Wisdom Tree brand bible games.
Moon Crystal (translated from Japanese) is a true gem and is easily a top 10 NES game. It's difficult at times, but if you emulate it you can really enjoy it. I sometimes " rewind " if i make a big mistake. The game design is very well done beautiful and satisfying.
Yeah. Castlevania 3 is ranked lower than the original, should be switched, Ninja Gaiden I is higher than II, but those games are closer. I'd say sequels are averaging lower ranks than originals, should be the other way around.
Cool list. Captain Skyhawk, Guerilla War, River City Ransom and Ice Hockey are ranked too low IMO. I know the original black box Tennis is in there somewhere and that game was really good.
...Sweet, TY for the info... Just checked into it & they are different games produced by different companies: *_Challenge of the Dragon_* was produced by *_Color Dreams._* While *_Castle of Dragon_* (named *_Dragon Unit_* in Japan) was developed by *_Athena_* & published by *_SETA._*
Nostalgia overload. I would put Double Dragon 2 ahead of the first. It would be in my top 3. Baseball Stars is the best baseball game. Bases Loaded is great too. Temp World Wrestling over Pro Wrestling. Faxanadu over Zelda II. Castlevania III over I, but it is damn hard. 1942 is a terrible port. 1943 is much better. Surprised to see TMNT Atcade so high. Good game, but 10? I think Journey to Silius should be top 50. Underrated game. Sucks that I missed out on so many great games as a kid because I played a lot of shit, but rentals saved the day and my parent's wallet. That first GI Game looked great and I always wanted to play Ice Climber and Snow Bros.
Años buscando Rush n attack, sabía que este juego existía porque lo jugué muy poco cuando era niño, y ya nunca más supe de él, empezaba a dudar de que existiera. Gracias por subirlo🙏🙏🙏
Because I wasn't going to watch the full 3 hours, I decided to watch until I strongly disagreed with a selection. Tempted with Turtles 2 at #9 but Double Dragon 1 at #13? That's just too high.
100-800 I don’t think anyone in their right mind is gonna argue too much. 1-100 as long as they roughly in the right spot, can’t disagree a whole lot either. The nes had so many great games and people’s preferences swing wildly. However, to rank double dragon 1 over 2 is madness! The controls were a lot tighter in 2 and was vastly more impressive in the graphics department. Surprised dd2 didn’t make top 10. Such a great game!!
My favourite nes games are The legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros 3, Zelda 2, Contra, Faxanadu, Punch out, Double Dragon 2, Wrecking Crew, Super Mario Bros & Metroid. Couldn't do a top 800, didn't play that many.
Cant say I agree with a lot of choices but thx for taking on a huge project and youre not that far off....Tecmo football smh and Double dragon 1 over 2 ... LOL
