This is like the best mashup of all my favorite things. Stance of a formula car, heart of a muscle car, Rear of a trophy truck. Makes for the angriest looking hot rod. Sick build.... Now do some burnyysss please 😂
Hoonigan I know that’s right! Definitely one of the better ones I think. And I’m a die hard Chevy dude LS blood all the way. But this thing is just sick!
WHOA whoa whoa... so we're just gonna gloss over the whole "wheels from the Mazda DPi" thing??? One sentence mentioning they're from Mazda's IMSA prototype? That's all we get? Those things are custom made for that racecar specifically -- you literally can't buy them and I don't imagine Mazda is just giving them out to whoever asks. There's a story there that we _need_ in his Burnyard episode 🤔😮
Thanks for catching some interest! The story isn't TOO exciting, but to make it short: A buddy sent me a photo of the wheels on the floor of a shop he was visiting, just to share with me. I insisted he find out what it would cost to leave with them, and we struck a deal. Motegi eventually found out about it, and while they praised the look of the wheels on the car, they followed it up with "... and someone's in trouble for selling those." For me, it's the perfect wheel for the build, and exactly what I had hoped I'd find. I lucked across them.
@@mikeburroughs7988Man i love this truck/death machine but id have some fun with that motor. Id put that engine in a 56 ford thunder bird gasser and call it TIME TRAVEL. Old externals, modern 8.5 second pass. Orrr a 52 ford coupe because i like the one piece windshield and slam it on the ground 50s style throwin sparks.
It’s understandable with how busy these guys schedules must be, but it’s also bullshit that none of their cars are working at the same time with the resources they have...still love these guys though, not tryna trow shade...
@@TheHoonigans what are the name of the wheels and tyres.. Also some specifications.. Please. If you guys know.. Love the package.. Cheers from Australia..
T.4.GxBOOSTED good uses GM design double Wishbone front suspension and triangulated rear suspension not for design single leaf springs hahaha Fords always a copier never an innovator
@@plymouth-hl20ton37 and?How about Chevy using aluminum beds on their trucks..after Ford. All the Chevy fan boys crying about how stupid it was. And how about the return of the 2.3 EcoBoost which was a big success and oh, wait, 2019 Chevy Camaro with a 4 cylinder turbo in their line up. Stfu and sit down lol
@@plymouth-hl20ton37; Is that like the camaro copying the mustang, or the chevelle copying the fairlane, or the nova copying the falcon, or the elcamino copying the ranchero ?? Should I go on, I think you get the point ??
I always appreciate keeping car and powerplant in the same family. He could have easily stuck an LS in it and called it a day. But I can still appreciate anything unique. But i'm a big "keep it in the family" type fella. Sick build!
What!? A hot rod that actually looks fun to drive!? Wicked inspirational build. Seeing those rain slicks sitting open wheeled, next to that much old school (looking) metal gives some life back to one of my old dumb ideas.
The look you gave when you turned the camera around priceless. I did the same thing when he said five months. And the spray paint frame. And for your question a 77 bronco.
Cool build . Reminds me of old school 1950's era dirt oval,, a death trap on wheels . Door bars and a roll hoop before I would drive it any where , just getting hit in the side by a 250cc motorcycle and your dead.
You guys need to do a Donut media crossover vid. Both of the channels are a true inspiration to the car community. I want James Pumphrey in the burn yard.
I'm in the UK and there's a coyote that drives past my house often. It's the best sounding thing Ive heard to date. Can't wait to get my hands on one after the insurance lowers lol.
I know it's a bit late, but if you haven't seen it yet, he posted it himself in the comments above, quote: The story isn't TOO exciting, but to make it short: A buddy sent me a photo of the wheels on the floor of a shop he was visiting, just to share with me. looks good, nothing ugly. i like the aesthetic decisions. the retained chop marks are sick.doesnt really look like a truck at all anymore. truck bed is just a roll cage now, with a storage box. ...oh, that's a battery, not a storage box :P
