Yeah, we all thought it was gonna last forever…… Nothing great about growing old…. Just look at yourself in the mirror in the morning while you are taking your medications...
+Daniel Aptekar Yes, no names, so I didn't know who half of these people were, plus it was made in 2009, so they've aged more since then, and poor old Whitney's already departed this mortal coil.
Emilio Estevez, Pamela Sue Martin, Whitney Houston, Shaun Cassidy, Matthew Broderick, Kirk Cameron, Rick Springfield, Nancy McKeon (Facts of Life), Solei Moon Frye (Punky Brewster), Neil Patrick Harris, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Christopher Atkins (Blue Lagoon), Henry Thomas (ET), Kristy McNichol, Ricky Schroder, Timothy Hutton, Gary Coleman, Andrew McCarthy, Jody Sweetin (Full House), Charlie Sheen, John Travolta, Dustin Diamond (Saved By the Bell), Wham aka George Michael and Andrew Ridgely, Jaclyn Smith, Lorenzo Lamas, Scot Baio, Jason Donovan, Danica McKellar, Richard Gere, Erik Estrada, Melissa Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie), Jonathan Ke Kuan ( Goonies), Madonna, Gregory Harrison, Shannen Doherty, Ian Zering, Stephanie Zimbalist and Pierce Brosnan, Joey McIntyre (New Kids On the Block) and Michael J. Fox.
I guess it's up to me to defend this video. If you grew up in the 80's, you shouldn't need the names of these people, because their ICONIC faces should be enough. i recognized ALL of them and it brought back some fond memories of a simpler, easier life when everything could be escaped from by watching your favorite star. So this video does NOT deserve the unfair bashing it is getting.
+No Man Not everyone knows everyone. There were a few people I was like who's that?! I've never seen them! I wasn't glued to the TV and I didn't have cable so that could be why. Instead of coming out like a badass trying to defend a video just try to put yourself in other people's POV. Everyone has a right to their opinion.
I think it's a good video, but the names should have been added for those who may not remember them. Just because you don't recall them, it doesn't take away from the video. Nice music too.

My Father-inlaw would tell me to enjoy my youth, not to be in a hurry to grow up, I didn't listen, now I'm 50 and wish I had looked after myself better. I also didn't appreciate how lovely I looked.
If that was your teen years, I say fine. But all in all I got to say 67' to the VERY early 70's was the greatest. Even tho there was this warm mystical feeling in America at that time, we actually felt that feeling in Vietnam. One had to be there at that time. I know this sounds corny, but it was truly the age of aquarius. I could feel it slipping away as time passed. I truly wish you could have been there.
HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU GET JONATHAN BRANDIS...THE ONE WHO PASSED AWAY IN THE 90S...MIXED UP WITH JOEY LAWRENCES LITTLE BROTHER??? THATS MESSED UP, BECAUSE NONE OF THE LAWRENCE BROTHERS ARE GONE.
I grew up in the 60's. I appreciate that you tried to use flattering photographs . Many of these clips on You tube seem to be made by folks that use the best when the person is young, then show the worst they can find for the older person. We all have days or time periods we would do differently if it could be done over. Plus with the invention of cameras built in to cell phones, it's not too difficult to follow someone around , and catch them at a bad moment. Your clip is great.
I grew up watching them.... BUT!! You made a Mistake with Never Ending Story 2- Jonathan Brandis (dead at age 27 in 2003) in time Laps 4:43. He is Not the same person as Mrs. Doubtfire's - Mathew Lawrence in time Laps 4:48.
it would be nice to know who these people are. I think I only recognize 6 of them. the one on the icon I remember meeting her on a movie set sitting at the benches eating our lunch in 1980. I wonder why they didn't put before and after photos as the title depicts.
I was thinking the same thing... I mean they even went to the trouble of taking note of birthdays and age... why not post the name and screen reference too?
Wow they all LOOK fantasic! That makes me feel great about myself because I'm turning 50 in November. :) Great Video! Of course hard times and drinking will make me look a lot older :(
You're correct. He committed suicide in 2003, before this video was even made. Some of the others in the video have since died from various causes after the video, but the Brandis one was an error.
I enjoyed your video ,for those who don't know their names you did not live through the 80,s ..met a grown Winnie [ Danica Mckaller ] from wonder years ..she is a sleeper that nobody has pick up on ..what I'm trying to say is she is GORGEOUS !!
To those who grew up during this era but don't know all the names, kudos to you, as you probably didn't spend your life being mesmerized by the boob tube.
Bryan Lilly I was around in the 80s to. A lot of them I knew who they were, but some of them I only recognize their face and couldn't remember their name. So it would have been nice if they would have added the names for some of us who have forgotten!
+John Coontas Most of these people arein my age group so i know most them. If you watched TV or movie sback then you should recognize at least hal f of then.
Stuart Perry I grew up in the 70s and 80s watching these actors; I know what you mean. Time is unkind. Each of us has an expiration date; we just don't know when it is. I think this video points out something very important...flesh is temporal. It will eventually return to the dust from which it came. The vanity and pride that is pleased by man's praises is also fleeting and very fickle. Your soul, your character, your integrity, the choices you've made will live on. So what's more important?
Jaclyn Smith, I had one hell of a crush on that woman in the late 70s over here in the UK. Charlie's Angles was the boys way of getting back at the girls for swooning over Starsky & Hutch. I was only a teenager and now you're telling me she's nearly 60! lol shit
***** All i said to you was it was 4 months ago and let it go and wow getting a little offensive. It was nothing rude. You are right i have no right to tell you what to do. Yet you told me to fuck off so I would like an apology. Due to the fact that if I cant tell you what to do, move on and let it go, then you cant tell me to fuck off
The music is the only think I love, the content of the vid have non logic, It shows people dead and alive, I don't understand what is exactly the objective of the images.
The "Golden Era" is almost always referred to as the 50's.... The post war-baby boom- suburbs-great economy- big cars with fins -rock'n roll.& so on...This is still a good video....
+wash beezy But the fact is that life, not only being short, is completely God-given, and it is how you handle life is what is important, gentlemen. Many 'foolish of the earth' (as I call them) do not seem to want to accept or comprehend that simple reality and truth. Now THAT is what I was ultimately getting at, when I mentioned 'Father Time' (the Lord God Almighty)..believe it or not.. ;-] I sure hope you realized what I was getting that.. :-]
The golden era OF THE 80's. The definition of "golden era" is subjective and personal. There are definitely more than one. I'm sure my grandparents wouldn't give two cents for the 80's.
well it's a great idea for a video and interesting to see BUT there are 2 things that are totally annoying, ... no names, and that shitty music that put me to sleep.
Well, ya know, this is RU-vid not Television. People do these things for free. I didn't care about the names because if I didn't recognize the face, I didn't care who it was. Also, the music was very fitting for a montage like this. You don't put friggin metal to a video like this. Sounds like you need to go to bed if you're that tired.
I wish I was still in the 80 as they were the good days so tonight I put my ear phones in and just listen to them on the 16th of July I am 45 so yes I do feel old but when I listen to these songs they make me feel good
LOVE IT! Not trying to be a know it all. But every show./people are relevent in this video. Awesome/great. I grew up in the 70's great video Welcome back cotter! OMG' Vinnie Barbarino! Love it. Thanks for sharing.Do the Love Boat.
Pssh. I didn't grow up in the 80's, but I pretended I did when I was little. I got my mum to buy me all seasons of all the old classics and I would watch them day in day out. As well as listening to old music. That was a good time.
I like how the 'before' pictures are professional studio promo photos and the 'after' pics are unflattering snapshots. Nevertheless, the video makes clear one thing - beauty is fleeting.
Beautifully done , some aged well other not. But i guess it proves they are only human and not the never changing ppl i grew up with , thanks for doing this ,,,
So sad that they didn't look this over & see that they made mistakes. Poor Johnathan Brandis didn't even get to live to be aged 29. I'm sure there were other mistakes, but this one I recognized immediately.
