VIDEO #81 ATMOSVERSE NOTES - C. C. Catch, Tommy Anders, Debbie Gibson, John Stamos and Cher are all popular 80s musicians (although at the time of the video Stamos was arguably more famous for his acting roles than his music) - The Eighties Heroine "Angie," or Angelica, is named on-screen for the first time; per her World Anvil profile her full name is Angelica Morgan - The recent release of the movies Top Gun, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Stand by Me date the video to the summer of 1986 - Angelica has previously been established as a fan of Stephen King; she mentioned his work during her first appearance in Video #21 (Classroom) and had several of his books on her shelf in Video #25 (Try on Haul) - The "breathing meditation course" was shown in Video #53 (Ballet Class); the POV Character lost consciousness during the class and found themselves transported to El-Rah - "I found myself in the grand theater." A 19th-century theater was also one of the locations in another dream sequence during Video #67 (Ladies, Vampires, Theatre and More) - Angelica has been related to different time periods in the past; the sorceress Astarah saw her while sailing the Chrono Realms in Video #50 (Potions), and she appeared on a 2088 video display in Video #71 (CyberLimo Ride With Your Personal Android) - "Angelica worships Lamari." Angelica attempted to get the archaeologist Professor Lamari to supervise their project in Video #39 (80s Partying); the professor her and the POV Character to the meditation course - After they passed out during the meditation, Angelica took the POV Character to be checked out at the university medical center in Video #65 (School Medical Exam) - Per the World Anvil background information Mayhorn University was established in 1882 in what was the Greene's Castle after Lord Greene was stripped of his title. According to Anna in Video #40 (Fortune Teller in the Train) the Vita Somnium Breve - or Order of the Sleepless - used to gather at the Greene estate - Anton is Angelica's twin brother, who first appeared in Video #21
I was born in 1965. Watching this takes me back to that Time when my Hair actually was the most rebellious part of me (😇, my mother would tell you otherwise, I suppose... ) -wish you could have been there to give some advice😅
My partner is from Ireland and I'm from Texas. When he first got here a woman told him, "the higher the hair, the closer to God". Lol! This was 2021. Who knew they were so religious in the 80s. 😂 I was born in 1974, I remember. LMFAO
@@cinnflowergirlI’m Texan too and I feel like they probably started saying this in the 50s when women were wearing those beehives because I’ve only heard old ladies say it and be dead serious
I love “personal attention but not talking to you” personal attention There is something so relaxing about being there, listening to people but not receiving direct attention
For real. For me it’s the same reason why I like foreign language asmr, cuz my brain doesn’t immediately focus on what they’re saying, but it’s still very comforting
It's amazing to see how Anastasia can play three different roles without them really seeming to be the same person in a blatant "copy and paste", you can see the differences between Angie and Aggie (Angelica and Agatha) in the way they sit, and the The stylist's focused face, with that eighties makeup, gives her a unique vibe.
yes, their difference can be seen on the literary options too. the girl on the left (i assume angie?) is reading a book/novel while the girl on the right is flipping through a magazine. anastasia is really amazing to subtly convey a character
I adore your 80s videos, the attention to details is just amazing. I was born in 1974, so I was a child in those early 80s, but this takes me back. Big hair, stonewashed jeans, the pastel coloured curlers and even the Marimekko wallpaper, which I believe, was from the 50s or 60s, but we sure did see this pattern a lot back in the 1980s. 😊
@@transsexual_computer_faery You should maybe give meaning when you say random words. People might think you're spamming. For context of others, this word means feeling nostalgia for something you haven't experienced.
I’ve found the 80s aesthetic warm and cosy in an unexpected way, As it wasn’t intended to be that but funky ,crazy colourful and loud. I guess it’s just that weird feeling of nostalgia that I didn’t even experience 😅
The fact you create a supposedly chaotic vibe in a soothing way is SUCH a mood for me... These things give me such stress (going to the hairdresser or socializing in any way, really) that even though many scenes come in very fantastic packaging - as in being from whole other eras or being straight up magical - they really help me with any anxiety I might have.
such nuanced characters! i liked how the two characters started to instinctively touch their hair when the hairdresser mentioned the stripping of natural oils on 3:06 from constant hair washing
I remember being overwhelmed at class and I resolved it was a good idea to listen to one of these wood soup asmr 😢 I fell asleep the whole class but it was the best nap I ever had lmao
"River Phoenix was amazing in it. it will be a timeless classic FER SURE"!! i became an expert at Valley Girl talk back then... "fer sure" "totally" or "totally tubular" "grody to the max", "gag me with a spoon" & all the other fab little gems
Вам надо выдать бриллиантовую кнопку! И не за количество подписчиков, а за те непревзойдённые фантастические шедевры, что Вы создаёте❤и, да Леди Анну я люблю, но 80-е вне конкуренции, фавориты❤❤❤
I was born in 1992, but somehow I've always felt connected to the 80s. I love the music and the atmosphere in the movies, this decade seems so mystical. I don't know if people who lived through the 80s felt the same way, but I think you always capture it perfectly! ♥️
The 80ies were something different altogether and the music from that era was unprecedented to me. I am loving it! The 80ies were the last decade with a destinct look and sound. After that things went stale.
Definitely believe a previous decade can bleed into the next especially if the people in your life were so greatly influenced by it and didn’t embrace too much of the present decade. Basically not buying too many new clothing items: believable. Listening to that music: believable. Still using the lingo, etc etc. I’m a testament to this with my 90’s fashion I still wear today.

3:25 Based on the mentioned movies, this scene occurs sometime after August 22, 1986. (thanks, @boeing-777-x, I meant 1986, but typed 1988) Determining the exact time can be challenging because movies in the 80s remained in theaters for extended periods. It was not unusual for films to be screened for several years. For instance, "Star Wars," released in 1977, was still being shown in theaters into the 80s. VHS started appearing, but video rentals wouldn't take off until 1989. In 1987, I remembered 7/11 and The Wherehouse offered VHS movie rentals, but they were costly, requiring a $75 deposit ($200 inflation-adjusted) and a rental fee of $3 ($8 inflation-adjusted). In 1988 or 89, most movie rental places eliminated the deposit requirement. That's when VHS renting took off. A brief bit of 80s history from memory. 🙂
The Story telling, detail and interwoven storylines is simply mind boggling. The 2 ladies even have different nail polish, every video is like a mini movie!
I'll have to watch this later when I'm not driving. She has the kind of video's that you can't just listen to you have to watch them because they're basically short film's.
I am consistently impressed by you. No one does production design, multi-character interaction, and video acting like you. Every video is a delight to watch.
This is why i love being a nail artist i get my own asmr everday. I sometimes try to layer my sounds in my nail videos too but im not that good at it so. Btw this started making me sleepy in two minutes. I love it
I really love the 80s vibe, it feels warm and nostalgic. Thanks for making this video and please do more like this where they’re several of you interact with each other. It’s soothing and good to listen and watch❤
“River Phoenix was in it.” “They’ll be a timeless classic for sure.” 😅. Love these VHS videos. I’m probably going to watch this video several times, but for now I will fall asleep to it. Thank you!
Thank you so much for updating WorldAnvil, I had the time of my life reading your new articles. Did we have a name for the vampire lady before?! I am so proud and happy to be a patron, always confusing for people when I tell them my favourite show of all time is an asmr youtube channel 🤗
I love it so much when there is different characters in the same frame. It reminds me of The first video of yours I've ever watched years ago which is the Victorian era tailor. I hope life is treating you kindly ❤❤
you have all of my respect, even changing the nail color for every character?! wow. honestly you're amazing and how you make the characters interact so well is so impressive
Hi Atmo! I want to say thank youso much for this video❤ Im really struggeling mentaly, have been for a long time, but this video got me out of bed to brush and braid my hair, its the small steps that count😊
The other day I was listening to a hair salon asmr and loved it, and now Anastasia released one, the timing is too perfect. Going to the hairdressers is so relaxing.
Not 2 hours ago, I saw some funny youtube shorts about a particular 80s hair salon and thought it would be nice to have a full asmr of something like it. And then here you are!
I’m not an 80s baby. But this is super nostalgic. Well, I’m sort of an 80s baby. It was basically over by the time I was born. but I really like the feel of how the 80s looked in the fashion in the hair. Very cool and very well done as usual.
Would love ballet asmr from you, your videos are always so accurate, i can imagine the precision to capture the sound of ballet flats passing in the floor in a Tendu. ❤❤
I find the range and genres of videos you do is incredible!! Can't imagine how many hours it takes to put them together, they are amazing. These videos are something I watch as I work on my drawings to go into zen mode or to fall asleep to. Very relaxing but also very entertaining!
I can't even begin to imagine the amount of work you had to do to create this masterpiece. Mindblowing! I love all three looks on you, but the 2 fairer ones are simply the best. I thoroughly enjoyed watching , thank you! Huge congrats to you!
You are one of the most talented people I've ever found online, been watching your videos since the beginning and you always manage to blow my mind. You should consider a career as a cinematographer!
instant subscribe. knew it would be phenomenal as soon as i saw the thumbnail! this is truly amazing, so well made! the people in the bg (very well acted and edited), the aesthetic (w/ accurate 80's references), the editing, the make up, the dialogue (i love the script and slang used), the asmr itself, everything, makes this so immersive, thank you! the video is very relaxing and i find the lore in the pinned comment very intriguing. it feels like an old memory, as if i was alive during this era. i felt like i was in a movie!
This is beyond creative! As a hairdresser I really appriciate all the work you put into making this. Not only is the research accurate but I get major tingles from all the good sounds and visuals 🥹 Thank you! How about doing a similar video from maybe the 40s, 60s or something?
