A little demonstration with this cool rack delay from 1984! I love whacky old gear and while very capable, this unit does fall into that category with some of its sounds. Here's a cool review of the unit from its release year:

As I commented on a Vesta 411 thread just now, I have one of these: they are kind of primitive in the lack of programming and no big LED screen, but, like, they SOUND incredible. That was the main draw for me: I only really used it for various delays....they are all so clean-sounding. The main components of my gig rack back then was the DIG-411 (which looks pretty much just like this here) and a Scholz Rockman Sustainor, for the preamp part of my guitar tone. I'd just went direct out of my rack, straight into the soundboard, and it was a very clear, clean tone. But after sitting for about 25 years in my rack, unplayed/unplugged, it now sounds like the modulation knobs are on always, regardless of whether they are or not....so you get those weird wavy sounds even if you just want a basic slapback echo or a simple repeat. Hard to find ppl who work on band rack gear though.

Get yourselves across the 420….. control voltage into delay controls with sampling…. Nuttier than a squirrel in autumn

Had one of these for a while a few years ago... they're cool, but there are many versions of this circuit out there... I like the Image IDL-1000 better.
