80s remix: RED VELVET - BAD BOY 

I remember when they were the biggest names in Asia during the 80s. They performed it in MTV Asia in 1986 and my grandmother sang and danced to this bop with the choreography like there was no tomorrow. I miss her :( Their hair saved the 80s for turning down the curly hair trend in this song and started their own trend, the normal hair.

Red Velvet were a South Korean/Canadian girl group that was formed in 1979. They were popular during the 1980s in Korea but were obscure everywhere else except for Canada where due to Canada's strict broadcasting rules and the fact that a member of Red Velvet was a Canadian then they could play their music. This song Bad Boy was their biggest hit stateside even though it only reached Number 97 on the Billboard Hot 100. They tried to release another single called Really Bad Boy but due to the American public mistaking Really Bad Boy for an updated rerelease of Bad Boy, the song wasn't bought. Interestingly they were the first and only Korean band to appear in Soul Train performing songs such as Look and Dumb Dumb. This was the February 7 1983 edition of the show. This song was also used in Miami Vice Season 4 Episode 2. Their songs Peek A Boo, Russian Roulette and Mosquito were also used in the later series of Magnum PI. Red Velvet finally disbanded in 1988 but didn't release their last song until 1991. Wendy had a short lived Solo Career in Canada between the years 1992-1994 whilst Seulgi formed another group called STATION M releasing two studio albums in 1988 and 1990. Joy and Yeri still release studio albums to this day whereas Irene retired from music. Source: Wikipedia.

When me and my wife first traveled to South Korea in April 1997 for our honeymoon, we first go to a local bar, since we were exhausted from the flight, and then i heard the music coming from the jukebox, it was amazing (even though i don’t understand Korean) the song is beautiful, and after that i never heard it ever again... Years later i found this song, that resembles so much to the song i heard at that bar from 1997, i still listen to this song everyday, it reminds me of my lovely honeymoon with my wife who recently passed away....

Bad Boy - Red Velvet (1989) This song brought back some sweet memories! It was in 1990 when I traveled to Seoul with my girlfriend and we bought a ticket for a Red Velvet concert after seeing a billboard advertising it. Bad Boy turned out to be my favourite track and we had a really good time! There were even rumors about the group staging a concert in Pyongyang but unfortunately it got cancelled because of fears that the North Korean authorities might detain them there Who knows what kind of impact it would've had on history if Red Velvet actually went to sing in North Korea like they planned to do as the event would've no doubt been widely publicized in the entire world
