I have a theory. We know that Bob’s Dad is an Asian Parent™️ and is looking for Bob. We know that Bob and his father share similar aggressive tendencies, but Bob often reflects on his actions and takes a different approach instead of what he was going to do. For example, he was going to confiscate Susie’s knife and is immediately given a flashback of the toys taken from him and is immediately forced to study. We know Bob’s Dad is a man of muscle and determination much like his son, but he’s practically all business and gets upset at the prospect of not being able to find his son who we assume ran away in the one true animation about him. Aside from the given animation about his dad, the only times we see him are through Bob's memories and dreams. What if the reason Bob's Dad is trying so hard to find him is to say sorry? If Bob was truly a lost cause, his father would have given up already and find someone more efficient and willing, but he would rather put resources aside to look for him specifically. I like the idea that if they were to truly meet again, it would go against Bob's expectations of being forced to study, but instead, have a weird heart to heart that only his bloodline is capable of. That's my theory, anyways.
