I was scrolling through the Sony xplod car 14.9 volt digital display radio I really miss that am/FM dx local stop fast-forward cassette player knob turn style bass treble loudness tuning balance radio with little red tuning led and backlit tuning so I hope lowrider magazine has something easier and sounds better I'n store the speakers from the 1970 era clunker sportscars are really vintage bitchin like and built differently amongst viva store car speakers at viva store 91016 in Monrovia Ca orange county Los Angeles 91016 thanks
just subscribed to you man. i also have an 85 monte carlo, not an ss though. but im trying to install an aftermarket stereo, will it fit if i dont have that piece you bought from mikes auto or whatever? i just got the harness and stuff from walmart. love your taste in music too! i prevail
+brandon patnode honestly man I dont think so. That factory trim piece is too small for a deck I think. You could try and trim it with a dremel if you wanted to do it custom. Thanks for the sub I'm trying to do some more things to it this summer! Just enjoying cruising it right now!
+Elliott Waldock well my Monte doesn't have the original stereo and has an after-market JVC so I'm going to see if I can pop that out and just put my Pioneer in
Great video! I just ordered the radio bezel plate for my 1985 white SS Monte Carlo from Mike's Montes. Yours looks great, my only question is what type of mounting kit did use for the CD player and where did you purchase it? I wasn't clear from the video. I think I will buy a similar CD player and I like the flush look. I also had to order the bezel for a 1986 model, so I'm happy to hear that it fits nicely into a 1985 model. I will check out your videos and I may even post a couple on my own car. Thanks!
+Elliott Waldock yeah that took me to them. good lord 54 bucks!! I seen mine the original wood grain for 60. Hell I need sell mine to get the new one haha
+Marquavious Robinson There was 4 little screws holding in the radio. 2 on each side. It wasn't a factory radio though. Had a really old aftermarket cassette deck in it and I'm not sure if it mounted different or not.
I love my association of Chevy Monte Carlo owners elders catholic freind for I'm for now wanting to buy a just right 14.9 DC volt current car stereo and I wants leave alone that silly Sony xplod car radio to be Chevy Monte Carlo car deliberate concerning Monte Carlo car radio
because noone remans the original radios and they break often. Mine didnt play tapes at the right speed and i had to replace the auto-reverse band with a rubber band, and that subsequently made the radio stop working right at all.
+Marquavious Robinson I had a Metra 71-1677-1 harness for mine but ended up having to solder a couple of the wires for the connector because a previous owner had installed their own wiring harness for it.
