📖 Our Story:
We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.Follow our journey as we turn this old stone house into a beautiful home

Good job on the choice of cabinets. Saves a lot of money to go DIY. Plus, save your receipts and you can return anything to Ikea within a year for a full refund. No questions asked. AND, if any thing breaks, like a soft close drawer rail, then Ikea has a parts dept on site where it can be replaced for free, at any time.

Good choice on no uppers. It makes a small kitchen look bigger. Plus…on the structural side, the hemp blocks may not support all the weight of the uppers.

The kitchen is going to be so easy to navigate in. I appreciate all the drawers. They make life so much easier. The floor and walls look fantastic together with the white kitchen. I learn so much from you two with each video. My renovation kitchen will be similar I think. There is not a lot of light in my old kitchen. I am removing the old front door of the house and putting a half wall with a huge window and the sink will be installed there. I just found a really old farm sink. I hope to use some of the skills I learned from you both. Bravo Brava Katie

Love ikea. Versatile, smart and easily reinforced if need be particularly if you can’t hook them onto the back racks and you need independent supports. They last for years and very hardy.

You need a toe kick on the bottom of each box to protect the base from water damage.

Remember that you are leveling the empty cabinets, when they are loaded, you will have to check them with the level again and make adjustments.. Anyway a very good job guys!!!👍👏👏

Quand la lumière entre dans la cuisine, la couleur du chanvre et le « doré » des pierres donnent une couleur vibrante à la lumière. Je suppose que vous avez choisi une teinte sable ou beige pour les placards si j’en crois le frigo. Ça va être superbe. J’ai trop hâte de voir, mais sûrement moins que vous 😂 . Bonne journée

Laser level and surgically symmetrical cabinets only enhance the charm of the rock wall and terra cotta floors. I could literally spend a day just looking at the stone work.

Gosh, I've been waiting for this video! My kitchen will have a similar layout; 4 metres linear with no upper cabinets. We will have an under-counter fridge for butter eggs milk etc., as the larger fridge will be in the back kitchen, as will the oven. I too will probably have the doors made, I was planning to go with Reform but I will look into Cubro, if they ship to France. I wonder what countertop you will go for, we priced for marble but started looking into poured concrete. Our mason said It would have to be 'autoportant' for a san of 4m and his quote worked out to almost the same price as marble 🤪! Great video as always guys, keep 'em commin' !!

Caiù inspected and approved this kitchen. Using Ikea prefabbed cabinets is a good economic choice, but adding the Cubro fronts makes it a really custom kitchen. Here in the states, modifying Ikea furniture is called Ikea Hacks and this kitchen is going to be fabulous!

The plan was to have a small angle cabinet but the total lenght of the kitchen is longer than we anticipated, hense the weird space left there on the right.. we'll find a nice solution for it :)

I've done wood cabinets in my house and to scribe all the woodwork to align with the the walls is very complex so when assembled and mounted all the angle cuts when put together gives an absolute square and level finished product including the shelves. Only thing I hate about the laminated pressboard is how easily the screws can be stripped out of their anchor points. Is there a base you can support the weight of the cabinets in the front? Plus I also just favor natural wood. Just me. An old cabinet maker once told me that the whole world is built on shims. Think I agree.

Your beautiful, labour intensive house, built out of so many natural materials, with painstakingly recycled and cleaned and oiled tiled floors, and rendered bathroom walls and floor, reached an interesting point when you quickly installed IKEA kitchen cabinetry. I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh. I wanted another show case of innovative natural techniques. I guess you’ve got to have priorities, and unless you are a cabinet maker, then you might as well go prefab. 😭😂😭😂😭😂😭

Hello vous deux 😊 Un pas de géant encore réalisé. La cuisine, c'est le coeur de la maison 😉 Elle est grande ! J'aime beaucoup la collection Metod de chez Ikéa, on peut agencer à peu près n'importe quelle cuisine et l'assemblage des caissons n'est pas bien compliqué (même pour une novice qui aurait 2 mains gauches, un peu comme moi, quoi 😜) Parfaitement réalisé, avec tout le soin et l'attention qu'on vous connaît désormais. Sous l'oeil encourageant et bienveillant de la plus belle, à qui j'adresse mes câlins habituels 🥰 Je me réjouis déjà de voir les plans de travail et les façades. Bonne semaine, à très vite

Molte grazie!!! Your video today is very timely and what I needed to make a final decision. We don’t want to spend a fortune on custom cabinets yet want a kitchen design that’s affordable and highly functional. Our kitchen cabinets are original to our 1960 built home. IKEA cabinets seem to be the best option yet I still was a bit hesitant about the cabinets until watching your video today. Your cabinet install looks perfect for your space! Very much looking forward to seeing your Cubro cabinet fronts.

Non avrei immaginato la scelta di una coppia frigo+congelatore ad in casso, avrei scommesso sul free standing. Controllate bene l'areazione perchè i frigoriferi ad incasso tendono a non avere sufficiente areazione per dissipare il calore e, quindi, a compromettere la durata del compressore. Verificate che nella parte posteriore possano prendere aria dal basso e buttarla fuori in alto. Complimenti per il montaggio, avete quasi battuto la precisione del laser 🙂
