Sam, I genuinely can't thank you enough for making a proper, full-length video. For those of us who don't have the access/ability to visit these amazing collections, this is a gift too precious for words to describe. From a loyal subscriber, thank you!
This is honestly one of your best video's! I love the fact that you geek out over the "less popular" classics and you have great taste. I think that if you got more in to the vintage en modern classic cars with your video's that the quality wil surely get even better! Love what you're doing keep up the good work.
Sam pleasee make more content with this cars and this TRUE collectors (not some arabs full of money but without car culture like Shmee150's videos). Even if you get less views than the supercars stuff.
Not just one of your best videos, but one of the best videos about a car collection. The knowledge presented by yourself and your host is so engrossing that you achieved what every video wants, to leave your viewer fully satisfied yet wanting more. Top notch work. You fill a void that is felt by viewers that watch automotive videos that makes other content feel like “fluff’ just to fill time. Thank you for such great content, production quality, and subject knowledge only eclipsed by your great delivery. My Sunday morning is done because watching anything else after this will just leave me feeling disappointed. #settingthebar
Forget the cars for a second and look at the knowledge, love and stories this about them. Heartiest respect for him. Hope we get to see him again on your channel.
WOW... Sam, you beat Shmee to this fantastic collection.!! A few years ago I had to pick up some shelving in western Jupiter / Palm Beach across from Larry's storage building. I was shocked at what was parked outside that day... an old C2 Corvette track car from Sebring and a Ferrari 250. Then I met Larry at the Boca Raton Concours De Elegance. He is a very nice guy and invited me to see his collection. Thanks for this tour.!
@@seenthroughglass Larry's collection is FANTASTIC..! I am so happy to see you doing a video there.!! and you got to drive those 2 classic sports cars.!! WIN WIN
Absolutely go the classic car route. We have enough other youtubers who film supercars, and to be honest, I don't really watch any of them anymore. But when I see a video like this one show up in my feed, I always have to watch it. There's just not enough quality content about classic cars on RU-vid.
Same, I find myself slowly watching the supercars channels less and less, and appreciating channels like STG more and more for their dedication to quality.
Same here, I unsubscribed from others like SOL, MR.JWW, SHMEE and so on... This is so much more personal and different, Sam feels more genuine and less like a RU-vidr if that makes sense.
To reach young people with classics, there has to be some kind of connection. Don't just show us the car, compare it to new designs. Tell us what about it was so novel for the time. There has to be a formula for classic cars on RU-vid. Petrolicious has its niche, surely there is untapped potential with classic cars. Gen Z and Millenials must must must be involved. Edit: and the cars should ideally be driven. Also, a magnetic personality is required along with top tier camerawork and editing. The bar is so high these days on YT.
OMG OMG.....this.....this..... this is the collection par excellence!!! I love this man. I love what he loves. Thank God you found him, and exposed his love and car passion. It is me....inside out.
This guy deserves the collection; it’s great to see an obvious enthusiast amassing a collection, and not just some rich guy in it for the investment potential.
Sam when you were in that Healey 100S and just saying “I’m thinking about giving up the content on all the modern super cars for this...” that’s exactly what I’d love to see! I think it would be an amazing niche for you and it would be great to see some younger blood and more personality in the classic/concours scene. Thoroughly loved the film, cheers.
That Lister Jag might be one of the best sounds I’ve ever heard, after you double de-clutched and went up a gear... goosebumps, incredible stuff. Great video, love seeing these kind of cars and the modern stuff!!! Keep it up Sam
Seen Through Glass aww, I want the 41 minute cut! This was heaven for me. A do it yourself guy. Loves cars, and understands how they go together and what makes them special.
Now that is a collection of desirable cars. The Austin Healy you got to drive is wonderful. The Lister-Jaguar sounds insane. I am considering getting a old Alfa or Jaguar just because it is more fun with old cars in my opinion. Great video. Keep up the good work.
I have a 66 jag e type roadster. It's amazing how modern it feels, yet it's more beautiful than anything produced today. For sure. Buy something vintage to enjoy.
As much as I love modern cars and tech you can't beat the looks of these early classic when car makers had unrestricted and free reign over there designs
Classics really elevate the definition of "beauty" to me and I couldn't stop smiling throughout the entire video. Modern cars have got nothing compared to all of these, they simply lack soul (driven a few supercars, Ferrari, Lambo, AMG). Genuinely started tearing up when we got to see the 250 California Spyder (+275 NART Spyder, P4), what I consider to be the most beautiful car(s) ever. Thank you, I only wish I someday get the same opportunity to get up close to some of these.
GET THIS MAN TO 500K! Such such good content on Drive The World. This collection was definitely different from the typical supercar content but it was still so entertaining to watch!
Absolutely fascinating!! Anyone who can talk on camera so knowledgably, and passionately like that, remembering all that history gets my vote. I was hooked throughout!! Beautiful!!
Thank you Larry Wilson. Wow! Not just driving an original, professionally engineered, souped Austin-Healey, but one that is impeccably restored and maintained. Top of the mountain.
That was one of the best collections I’ve seen, love the fact he drives them all “oh yeah, you can take that out”.. don’t forget to ‘double-de-clutch’ when you drive a classic 👍
Thanku so much Mr. Wilson and seenthroughglass for letting us experience one of the finest car collections in the world . Mr.Wilson has exquisite taste. It’s nice to know they’re people out there that can collect and preserve the cars we dream about, let alone drive them regularly. Thx Mr . Wilson.
It's all about history. Basically a car museum that are specimens are driven which is the whole point of appreciation. What a collection san history. Thank you!
I've been a subscriber since your 4C and I must say it's been amazing to watch this channel grow and get better and better. The Drive the World series has quickly become one of my favorites on RU-vid. Can't wait to see what's next, you're on a roll mate. Cheers from South FL!
In 1959, when I was 11, a guy my father worked with took me for a ride in his Austin Healey 100-6. I've been a "motor head" since. Thanks to you & the owner for sharing this extrordinary collection!
I'm just so glad to see these amazing cars actually driven, not collecting dust in barn as in most collections. This gentleman with his passion for these incredible cars is just fantastic. Great video.
Another outstanding video, Sam. Lovely to 'meet' a collector who talks in such a relaxed way without an ounce of bragging or showing off. I smiled at the Ferrari Mondial in shot, clearly a guy who chooses cars to enjoy driving rather than worrying what others say. Very jealous of your drive in the Healey & Lister. Keep up the great work!
Big respect to LW who not only put this fabulous collection together but also uses it. Also he's clearly not just a collector but an aficionado, his depth of knowledge makes it a pleasure to listen to him. Thanks for a great video.
i almost teared up with the casual tone of his voice when he said he sourced the buck for that Ferrari to build the new panels. like it's a normal thing to do, the attention to detail is awesome.
Anyone want to hazard a guess at the total value of that collection? Heck, just the Porche's, the 275 NART Spider and the A6GCS Maserati are close to $100 million between them let alone the other dozens and dozens of cars. I also love how he talks about how much each car was used/ raced then brought back to streetcar shape. Easily one of your best videos ever Sam! Keep it up.
I've watched many of your videos over the past few months and enjoyed them all. I haven't actually subscribed for some reason, until today. The vintage exotics in this collection are breathtaking! And yes, you did them justice sir! Well done.
20:32 Dude, do it! I think everyone watching your videos can sense the passion and the enthusiasm you have for vintage Cars. I honestly think we need someone young like you bringing the history of cars and motorsport to a platform like youtube!
WOW that was amazing. That little Austin Healy looked like such a hoot to drive. Talk about miles per smile. Then the Jag on top of it. So raw, loud and incredible.
Yes, I've been waiting for a RU-vidr to leave all the digital, tech-heavy supercars that perform 90% of the work for the driver, and start showing, driving and discussing the classics. Please continue to making more videos like this! I'd take a drive in a 250-350hp carburetor v12 any day over a modern hybrid 1200hp machine where you can only experience a tiny fraction of the performance on the street. The sights and sounds are unmatched!!
I am amazed at how Mr Wilson is able to communicate off the top of his head the technical data and historical information with accuracy for all those cars. Awesome collection. Great video.
Awesome Sam, thank you so much, what a video! Impressed by the owner of this collection, both your particular knowledge and real car and motorsport passion shining through, exemplified by your cool interview. Driving section was ace and a great point, well-made of driving the historic cars. Thank you, what a car collection/workshop and top notch, Seen Through Glass video ✌😎
Guys like Larry must be celebrated for driving their collections and letting us have a glance a that terrifying and amazing world of racing in those past days. Thank you Sam for the video, and I sincerely hope that you'll take the way of the classic cars more often.
Fantastic video Sam. I met David Piper a few times when he brought his Ferrari racing cars to South Africa for the annual historic racing event held at both Zwartkops and Killarney. That green livery is instantly recognizable. Kudos to Mr Larry Wilson for preserving these incredible cars and for using them as intended.
Excellent Production. Larry is really down to earth. It's very refreshing to watch someone who has built a collection over decades. Loved listening to him say 'raced that a lot, raced that, raced this', a true connoisseur. Well done on 'Scoop of the Year' in my opinion.
That was like being a kid again. Thanks Sam, one of your best. Definitely do some vids on vintage stuff. We need a new generation of people who appreciate these amazing cars of the past.
I have been watching your videos for years now. But for the first time, I realised that I was smiling since the min 19.45 till the min 23.30! Man I was feeling the experience behind my computer screen! Amazing! Please keep going with the great work! Greetings from Portugal!
Wow. WOW. WOW!!! What a video Sam! This was a great one; not just the collection but also the drives. The uniqueness of the Lister-Jaguar made it seem as if we were there with you. What a vid! Love the, all, but this is one for the ages. Keep it up!
What a incredible video Sam. Keep on the videos, especially these longer videos. I’m developing more of a appreciation for classic cars thanks to you. What a legend
Gorgeous collection there... and i seem to be the only one hearing or even noticing those notification sounds, every time you move to a different car...
What an amazing video. Larry gets No.1 legend status here. You fit in perfectly in these cars. Hope you visit this place again and get to drive more things.
Mate, we're not all 14. If you're able to get owners of cars of this calibre to give you a drive, then I'm all for it. Love your respect for these guys as well. I can see a #drivetheworldclassic coming when you get to drive the yet to be finished cars in Larry's collection. Keep it up Sam, brilliant.
Please please please give us more videos as this one ! This video is just dreamy Loving the fact you’re having more and more interest to classics Please keep on going into that way ! Loving that
A truly spectacular collection of beautiful automobiles. Not a fugly one in the bunch. Larry Wilson has exquisite taste in cars. Thank you STG and Mr. Wilson for a very enjoyable respite from the mundane.
Thanks for filming this one. A few years ago I took a FF race school at Palm Beach Raceway and was invited to Larry's Garage! It was better than the school! What a collection, your video explained it even better as Larry was not there for a tour. Its also great to see that a few of the cars have been finished. I love the Lister!!
That was truly amazing. I could have watched a 3 hour documentary on this collection. Such beautiful and special cars. I would spend hours there just geeking out over everything 😍😍😍
The main problem with these videos is that every time a new one comes out my first reaction is always Omg best video ever 😍 How do you still make these better everytime !!
Absolutely phenomenal. Definitely one of your best videos. Professional, interesting and nicely shot. Yes, yes, do go down the classics route rather than super cars. There are so many youtubers doing super and hyper cars but almost nobody doing the classics properly. Harry's garage does quite a few and Mr JWW has started doing a few modern classics. The cars in that collection were real gems and to be able to drive them a real treat I bet. This video will be hard to top!
Best video yet!!! If you keep posting this kind of content the petrolicious community will subscribe in a heartbeat. You are becoming a real carguy and love this content with the rare oldtimers
Loving the classic car videos , they have so much more character & varied designs than supercars today with all the restrictions of safety involved. There are now so many RU-vid channels doing endless content on the latest Ferrari , Lambo & Porsche & all the numerous boringly predictable limited special editions with just a few changes from the regular model. Sam you really should change to classic cars , your passion & enthusiasm is fantastic !.
One of your best videos. Thoroughly enjoyed every second of it, also learned a lot of stuff while i did that. Huge huge thanks to you. Also Larry did a great job of explaining everything.
Sam! This is without doubt one of the nicest car/lifestyle videos out there on YT! Great to see this true passion for classics and all the stories around each peace. Would be awesome to see more videos like these👊🏻 And if you do so, maybe an item around classic JDM’s while your at it. You have my blessing😆
One of my old friends, Todd Wrice is one of Mr. Wilson's mechanics and often goes to racing events with him. I've seen photos from inside but your video really shows the scope of Mr. Wilson's collection. Best of all as you said Sam, he drives his cars and he races his cars! Love your affliction for the 100S, my dad owned a 100-6 when we were kids and thus grew my love for big Healey's. I'd watch EVERY video you produce on old classics! Do it! Do I hear a new channel idea brewing???
Really enjoyed this video Sam. It shows the passion of the guys who are really into cars. There seemed a sadness from Larry that the Porsche’s are getting too valuable to race. The Austin Healey Sebring was gorgeous. Power is low compared to the. Cars today but it isn’t about that. Loved your appearance on the Collecting Cars podcast.
