The best part of watching "Outdoors," for me, is it's the antidote to the nonstop bad news that the media dumps on us, daily. Just spending time with a great American family being productive and meeting life, head-on, is a healing balm. I appreciate that you guys avoid politics and, instead, are just being yourselves and staying productive. That's why your audience is international: Everybody's hungry for positive, uplifting messages. Love you guys, bigtime.

Las Vegas, waiting to sell the home and move to the woods!!! You and all the other channels inspire me to get back to my roots! Started on a Gravely tractor with a steerable sulky seat, tiller, brush hog and snow blower, went into mechanics at a local Exxon and drove the tow truck, Rochester NY, went in the USAF for 8 years and drove bomb lift trucks rear steering, fit right in. Ended up in Las Vegas after traveling the world via Uncle Sam, started a landscape company and ended up owning over 200 vehicles, pick ups to End dumps, front end loaders, box scrapers, skidsteers and backhoes.

Loved the story, I worked w a brick crew for 9 1/2 years. They'd hire people left and right, depending on the job. Being a laborer is just simple stuff, right. Well we'd see some guys that couldn't work a shovel to make mortar, really. I got married and started having kids, 3, so I needed a better job w benefits, so I went to Corning Cable Systems, 34 years. I loved being outdoors so after 4 years inside operating machines, I got a job loading cables on flatbeds. Did that for 30 years. Loved it. Keith, in NC.❤

Hello Mike. Thanks for doing what you do, I never know what to expect. One video you are moving topsoil next you and Melissa are dropping trees and splitting wood next one someone is mowing or moving brush. If I watch a channel about mowing yards all I ever see is a guy mowing, oddly interesting but not too much or it gets boring! We live in Friendship Tennessee, Crockett County, West Tennessee. We are like many in America now we are staying out of the radar and avoiding crowds. We are surrounded on all sides by cotton fields and the plants are flowering now making tee shirts😎.

Hey Morgan’s! Reaching out from Penn Yan, NY (Pennsylvania Yankee). Would LOVE to have an excavator for a time. I’d dig some holes around my property... then fill them back in. IT WOULD BE GREAT!! On another note, I work in the Fire Service across NY. This is an area of work overflowing with tradition. The good know that training and education never stops. We can always improve our “craft”. Many, though, are stuck doing the same thing for decades... “I’ve been a firefighter since before you were born, I know what I’m doing!” You’re right! You’ve been doing it the same way for all of those decades. SECRET: All fire will eventually go out, without intervention from firefighters! What will you do to improve the prevention of fire and reduce the property damage and loss of life from fire?

Mike, Greetings from the island of St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. I'm originally from Painesville, Ohio. After 15 years on the island I miss NE Ohio/ Pennsylvania area and all we do up there. I have a couple palm trees damaged in storms I need to cut down. I should send you a video. Covid here is getting pretty bad coming in from the tourist from the states. Most islands in the Caribbean won't allow American tourist in. We had our borders closed in March until June and had zero cases until we reopened. The island is 3 miles by 13 miles with a population of 40K, so our hospital is very small. The economy relies almost all on tourism. Covid has been devastating to the island. Storms hit about 1:30 PM and by the time I got off work at 10:30 PM the city of Davenport Iowa was still mostly dark. Could not find gas so I drove a hour to get home. Hi Mike You just described what my dad called a runner! You run here run there and do nothing. We have one contractor here that when one of his employees as we will not call him a operator, the only thing that runs constantly is the hours meter. I will thank him one day for giving me the motivation the hire and do it myself. I live in Tasmania and I am a 6th generation Apple grower. My dad made me go and do an apprenticeship as a fitter and machinist and I loved it. But came back to the orchard in 81 as we had a recession here in Australia and you may have had one to in the US. My grandfather had just died and my dad worked as a timber faller, he is a legend of the bush here. I built my own house with a mate that was a builder and I build some machinery I never compromise there is only 2 ways the right way and the wrong way. When we are pruning the employees ask is this right and I tell them if it looks like mine it is !!! Yes like you I wonder how these people survive. So I have been running my own business since I was 21. I live in the Huon Valley in Tasmania about as far away from you as you can get before you start to get closer again. I watch you videos and it just chills me out I was in hospital last week and the blood pressure was up and the doctor said he was going to give me something for it and I said I will just watch outdoors fist he looked at me, he came back after I watched you and your family and it was down. Regards John

@@rickster9993 Oh man in the horse industry I know so many people that just think they know it all. Refuse to accept any bit of information or criticism to become a better horseman. That goes for all trades. I opened up my mind to learn my whole life. I will never stop wanting to get better at everything I try.

@@rickster9993 No idea how this conversation got to Ben Carson pushing a lawn mower lol No clue. I'm just saying if anyone chooses a field to work in. They shouldn't close their mind to learning or getting better at it. It's impossible to know it all. Their should she room to grow. Quebec Homestead Out!

Good afternoon/ evening. Took a Covid test at 6am today. Yesterday offload at our company cavern and my KW went into limp mode pulling off 3rd rack. Lucky I've got a job with guaranteed pay/ weekly minimum. Results will be available tomorrow. Just N of Lansing Michigan. Be safe.

Getting ready for a big move to Corry, PA. I worked for a Machine Shop here in Augusta, GA and we got notice Monday that the shop is closing. I recently inherited land in Corry and will be moving all my tractors and equipment. My mom past away from Lung cancer in February so nothing to keep me in Augusta. My dad and sister live in Corry and I have another sister in Cleveland so I will be with family.

Excited to watch the progress. I have a 48x72 going up in late October / early November. Just a few hours down the road in Northern Ohio. Hoping to see a few "lessons learned" for my build!

Our grandkids came to stay with us last Christmas...and I was in the middle of building up my side yard with select fill and had set the topsoil in next to the project. They had all sorts of neat presents, but they played on that dirt pile the whole time they were at Poppy’s and gamma doody’s (Judy). So we are getting them a load of topsoil for next Christmas... lol. BTW. We live in Texas and things are booming again. of course I own a HVAC/R company...so it is very busy for me now. Lol

@@oldmanfred8676 that's the way the whole summer has been for us. I stand outside and watch it on the radar. Splits and goes around us. Rain everywhere but where I'm standing it seems. It poured but I think most rain off because it's so dry.. Be safe. Have a good day buddy.

That excavator looks like a pleasure to operate. Appears that it is very smooth very responsive very tight so it makes being precise relatively easy. The hydraulics look very smooth and responsive also. It must be a pleasure to have a machine that new to work with.

I always loved the smell of the dirt when my Grandpa would plow the garden. Fresh turned earth. I was 6 yrs old at the time. I had to stay in the house while Grandpa plowed the garden.

Greg here in central Florida, I don't have topsoil I have sand and if you strip it off you have more sand. I don't have a big enough tractor to hit rock. But seriously, I have gotten better at running my tractor by watching your videos. Keep up the good work.
