Good job brother im a huge DIY and the 2 door tahoe is my next truck, i just got an excursion about a year ago that i love and im working on, and installing a lightbar on my hood..Great job man innovative..You could def market those
Awesome job! Thank you for posting this, I've got a 99 "Classic" suburban (aka 98 body style) and there's no way I'm paying $240 for a set of brackets. I'd rather build them then get bent over for a $240 part they paid a Chinese company $2 to make.
yeah I got some brackets but i had to put it where the curve is and it is wrecking the top of my door, I have a 95 chevy silverado which those brackets would work perfect for
i just bought a nice ,no rust, 107,000 original miles, 1998 GMC suburban. one owner ,sold to son, then to me. was always a second vehicle. and it shows. new rims and nice new almost mud tires. $3,600 did i do good? it has one of those light bars .the brackets are keeping the door from closing tight. holy crap the wind noise.. they can't be the correct brackets. i wish i had the money to lift it like you did. that looks bad ass.
Oh yeah, there's always someone out target shooting in my neighborhood, and my back yard is no exception. lol. and yeah I don't remember if I mentioned it in the video or not but that is an Auxbeam 52 inch Cree light bar. I'm kinda partial to the cree leds myself...
bad ass bro i have a question for u i have a 2000 suburban and i will like to make the same ones but i was wondering what size is the metal plate u made it out off and did u add more inches because u bent the metal plz help me out if u can thanks keep up the good job
why wouldnt you set the lite bar back 2 more inches so you see your cab lights more, your like the second guy to do that, that light bar is what 24k lumens its not like your going to get anymore out of it right, or am i missing something ,
Hey thanks, I can't really say much about how well they are holding up yet because the Tahoe has been parked for the winter pretty much since I got the brackets put on. I don't foresee any problems though. I made a set just like these only for a straight light bar for my off road mud truck and it's been bounced around pretty good with no problems at all....
what size is the light bar ? i have 98 Suburban that i want to do the same bar on as well thank you any chance i can get a copy of the template? Thank You Sergio
I got them from ebay but I am actually looking for a better set so I can replace them. These are LEDs which is cool but they started getting moisture in them shortly after I installed them and now I have 1 that has stopped working....
The reason you most likely got moisture in them is because they are dodge cab lights, which begs the question why you got the dodge style cab light and not the 88-98 GM style cab lights? I put a set of GM style cab lights on my Yukon and have not had any problems in over a year, and they fit the roof right where you can see the gaskets on yours don't really fit right because the dodge roofs are more flat.
Would you be willing to sell a pair ? I have a 1999 tahoe Lt and a curved bar but no clue how to install it. Also I have no way to make brackets nor the time as working 11am to 11pm. Does anybody have any brackets for sale that would fit my tahoe?
Matthew Tracy I wish I could! If I had a machine shop where I could just enter a drawing into a computer and then sit back while they are cut out automatically then toss them in a metal brake to bend them I would make stacks of them to sell but making them by hand like that takes way too much time. Sorry...
+andre williams If I had a machine shop and better tooling I would start making them but doing it the way I did it just takes way too long so I really don't have the time or patients to make them. Sorry, I wish I could!
Jason smiles I don't drive this truck in the snow because our salty roads would rot it out in a winter or two. but I would say pretty much any light bar would make it hard to see in the snow, just like driving with your high beams on in the snow. As for the glare on the windshield, there is some but it's not too bad. I do however have a really dark strip of tint at the top of my windshield and my hood is black, maybe it would be worse without the tint and with a white or light colored hood....
+Dylan Smart Measurements? Nope, I drew a pattern on a piece of paper and cut them out.... No measurements were taken in the making of this video. lol. Sorry

Not really, like I said all 5 had moisture in them right away. I want to find a new set of cab lights from a different company that is made better... I was actually looking at the cab lights with built in strobes but haven't decided yet. The Tahoe is covered in snow now though so I have until summer to find a better set....
After lifetime of metal working without hearing protection, my dad has horrible hearing at retirement age and it'll only get worse as he ages. Protect yourself man because hearing damage is permanent. It doesn't heal.
Yeah good point, and I should know better too, I actually already have 1 ear that has some permanent hearing loss from shooting guns without ear protection years ago. I learned that lesson and haven't fired a gun without ear plugs since that day! I sometimes get lazy about grabbing the ear plugs at work though so there's definitely still room for improvement there....
+AOH Guard Its a "Bully" grill from Summit Racing. I made a review video of it almost a year ago when I bought it but I got busy and never finished editing it....
