Fun fact about Volkner: at the start of the battle his sprite movements don't make much sense, but when paired with Flint later, their combined movements show Flint laughing and Volkner raising his hand to silence him, which Flint instantly does
For those of you who want an ACTUAL fun fact about Candice: In the anime, she helped raise Zoey’s Glameow until Zoey was old enough to leave on a journey with it.
According to Ramos in pokemon masters, he once had a trainer in his gym bring a totodile, but it chewed and broke the ropes and was impossible to beat the gym
Here's a Viola fact: you can't name your Pokemon after her, since her name is considered a bad word in French...and her region just so happens to be based on France
This is actually funny to me as an Italian because "viola" in my language has lots of meanings, including being a real female name, but none of them is considered offensive.
@@chibu8045 I mean, humans in pokemon are like super humans. You see em fighting and enduring against machamps, Pokemon that can break mountains with a punch apparently.
But, it would make Agatha a different type specialist. Maybe from ghost to poison. And if that would actually happen, she would be the only Elite 4 to overlap with a type with a gym leader.
@@surprisedadrianlol In the same generation, yes. Bruno and Chuck are both part of the Indigo League, but in Chuck isn't present in the gen 1 games since you don't visit Johto.
Unless you count Nanu or Marnie who takes over the gym when Piers steps down. But yeah, in terms of official gym leaders that you fight during the main story, he’s currently the only dark-type gym leader in that regard. TOOK THEM LONG ENOUGH!
"Blaine and Mewtwo share DNA, which allows them to speak telepathically" Everyone who's spoken with Mewtwo telepathically since he can't actually talk: and... that makes Blaine special HOW?
Here’s another fact about Karina: she has one of the most exploitable gym fights ever. Here’s how I beat her when I was maybe 6 or 7: Honedge used Arial Ace!
Byron was actually offering the role of Canalave City gym leader to Riley, who turned it down as he believes Byron should consider his own son first, not offering Riley the Oreburgh City gym. Riley explains as such while we're teamed with him on Iron Island.
Another fact about Melony, she apparently has never lost to Raihan. Which is not shocking given Raihan is a Dragon type trainer and Melony is ice type.
Drakes Dragonite being able to use 10 moves was a decision by the writers to try to make it seem just that unstoppable. By making it that broken of a Pokémon the viewers that actually played the games would be in awe and terrified for Ash.
Something I would like to mention is that Grant is probably named after Alan Grant from Jurassic Park because he uses the two fossil pokemon, one of which being Tyrunt
Fun fact about the gym challenge in general (idk if this is common knowledge but im still gonna put it out there): there are more gyms in every region than the main 8 that we battle against in the games, thats why in the anime Gary and Sawyer have different badges (you’re also free to challenge any gym but you only need 8 to take on the elite four, this explains why allister, bede, melony and gordie exists)
To explain something: There are major league gym leaders (like Milo and Nessa) that are official gym leaders that you have to battle and get their badge in order to complete the gym challenge. And there are also minor league gym leaders (basically really strong trainers that aim to someday become one of the 8 official gym leaders for the gym challenge). The version exclusive gym leaders that aren´t part of the gym challenge of the game in Sword are minor gym leaders in such version and viceversa with Shield. A major league gym leader can be put back again in the minor league if they show low performance as a gym leader or a bad behavior (like rigged matches or cheating to get an unfair advantage). They can go back to be in the major league if they correct their flaws but if the don't, they get replaced for a minor league gym leader that then becomes an official gym leader for the gym challenge. This is why it was such a big deal when Klara (I got pokemon sword) loses to the player in their final challenge in the isle of armor. She finally admits her defeat and resigned, she tells you that it's okay if you want to tell Master Mustard about the fact that she cheated during the battle. Which is important because it basically means that she thinks that she will get expelled from the dojo and will be losing her chance to be a minor league gym leader (and, of course, her chance to ever be part of the major league and fulfill her dream). After that, Klara gets surprised for being forgiven (either by you or mustard depending on your choice) and she gains respect/cares about you after that and that´s why she starts trying to improve herself to be battle able to become a minor gym leader (which is the first step to eventually be a major league gym leader) and to some day battle againts you as well.
In the game after beating Bea, she holds her elbow when shaking your hand and is the only one to do so meaning she probably injured it prior or during your battle Also Bea is the hardest gym leader to face (in my opinion with my experience) in Pokémon Sword while surprisingly Nessa is the hardest one in Pokémon Shield despite being fairly easy in the other game (again, in my opinion with my experience)
Valerie is... interesting. She almost seems to show some social anxiety in the anime before stepping onto the stage. Her Masters incarnation is particularly interesting if you happen to know a particular bit of history regarding the fae. She's also surprisingly swole since her outfit is so heavy.
@@japanpanda2179 Doesn't Mina from the Alola games specialize in fairy types? I'm not sure if you would count her since technically she isn't a gym leader
Valerie's ability to understand the language of and speak to pokemon reminds me of N who has a very similar ability except Valerie can only speak to pokemon of the fairy typing whereas N can speak to all pokemon period regardless of their typing.
The fact that after completing national dex you can see janine outside of safari zone in the city of koga's gym and janine say she is training and will become gym leader
I love Drayden, sure what you said that his facial hair is weird, but tbh, its interesting and his haxorus insanely strong same goes for our newest Unova Champion, Iris
if you look at Kabu's league card it seems your spot on Dobbs. it mention that after losing to the champion a few times Kabu lost faith in his skills and dropped down to the minor leagues himself.
It's not probably a minor league in SwSh, it was staded from the start in coverage media, intervies and on the Pokémon website that there are two leagues. There are NPCs in the game talking about it, as well.
Katy: Katy is the only one who has her tera Pokémon evolved! Brassius: His hairstyle is based on Bramblin! Iono: She has 2 Magnemites in her hair, even though she doesn’t use that evolutionary line in battles! Kofu: Kofu is the only gym leader to be set in more than one city or town! Larry: Larry is the only gym leader and elite four to change types. Normal for gym battles and Flying for Elite Four! Rhyme: Rhyme’s hairstyle is based on a skeleton! Tulip: She has butterflies in her hair! Funny enough, there are no psychic type butterfly Pokémon as of yet! Grusha: Grusha used to be a professional snowboarder until he was injured from an accident and was forced to retire! So he became a gym leader instead!
Fun fact: you can actually see Janine in frlg when you go to saffron and talk to that girl in the voltorb she’ll say that she will take over the gym someday and she did
Fun Fact: Dobbs deserves more Patreon members in order to upload more of these fire videos 🙏🏽 *Btw: no funny intro?? C'mon bro, you're the best at them.
Dobbs: "I heard you can't subscribe to the channel before my avatar blinks" Me: *Pauses the video* Me: "Boom done, didn't blink and I'm now subscribed"
I’ve never read that anywhere. I’ve only read that Volkner is best friends with Flint, which you likely already know. There’s no proof that Candice is best friends with Maylene.
It’s not inconsistency it’s all about wit and strategy also pikachu was still finding his groove again and recovering after what happened a few episodes prior
