88" Slick by Flymodel with DLE 61cc

Tuning before maiden flight. Overall weight was a bit on the heavy side at 20lbs! RPM wise, the best I got with a Xoar 24x8 and a canister muffler was 6,400. The DLE 61 was new with less than a gallon through it........Update, I changed prop to Xoar CF 23x8 and now getting 7200 static rpm.

DLE 61 is more than enough power for this plane. I settled with a 23x8 CF prop which gives me 7300 static rpm.

wow 20lbs is heavy thought i saw on forum these were comming in at around 17lbs

Thanks for fast reply I was about to buy this one from hobby kink last wewk then i changed my mind to Ks or MTW But since you tried this one , what is your feed back about it ? Do you advise me to buy it or to go for German Brand ? Thanks again

dam what a shaker I bought a fly model yak 88 inch wing and will be putting a dle 40 twin in it and I dont fly 3d so I dont need to hover. just sport fly.

mshabandar The canister is very good quality, but I can not say the same thing with the header. My advise is to look elsewhere.

Why put LiFe ignition battery inside the cowl area? You know those need to be balance charged, right? And you should NEVER stand anywhere in front of the prop when it running, let alone at 6500 rpm... If something cut loose, it's cutting you in pieces with it.
