After a couple of weeks where I didn't know if I was going to have them together, I finally have the review of the 8BitDo Ultimate Wireless in both versions. 2.4g and Bluetooth. They have all the quality and top-level components common from 8BitDo. But the protocols and compatibility of each controller is confusing. Let's see why and compare them with the previous SN30 Pro 2. Don't forget to subscribe.

If u ended up purchasing the rog ally. Did u get the 8bitdo ultimate to work with the 2.4G dongle ???? Can't seem to make it work . Controller only works in Bluetooth mode with the rog ally

I wish the Ultimate had the same connectivity options as the SN30, but you would need to buy both the 2.4Ghz and the Bluetooth version to get that.

Both have almos the same travel and feel equally good really. If you play on PC or XBox, consider the wired ones. Those use Hall Effect triggers.

I can tell you. Microsoft controlles have about 8% rounding errors rate. The Elite 2 have even more with 10%.

is the SN pro 2 is compatible with the switch and PC at the same time using bluetooth ? I want to be able to swtich from my computer and my console without re setting everything at the same time. Thank you for your work !

Sure. You just have to pair each, and then is just the changing the switch on the back. It stores one device per protocol.

Now the Wireless 2.4g version of 8BitDo Ultimate has official support for Apple and Android devices via bluetooth. Bizarre, isn't it? It seems that this capability was present all along, but disabled by a firmware option. This makes it more versatile than the Switch version.

With this update, I am undecided between the Pro 2 and the Ultimate Wireless 2.4g to use on my Apple devices.

Well yes, but is not via bluetooth, is via 2.4 using the adapter. In my opinion the Pro 2 is still a better bet all around, but for a Mac only the Ultimate Wireless would be almost as good. Maybe better because of the lower latency.

I really love this video, first one to compare all the stuff 8bitdo has. I think android makes sense for the 2.4ghz because it's compatibln with linux devices

Well yes, but actually controller compatibility on Linux is more similar to Windows than Android. It's just weird thinking on an android controller without bluetooth.

Very good review. The one thing I’m wondering is if you plug the ultimate bluetooth with your cable to the switch, does the latency decrease?

It should, but I don't think it would be more than 2 ms. Unfortunately, I couldn't test since the Mister didn't detect it.

Ahh, I wish they'd make an "ultimate" version with the shape of the SN30 Pro. It just needs a dock, 2.4ghz dongle and hall sensor sticks and I'd never buy another controller again.

confused would like to take pro2 cntroller or ultimate wired. whick pro i loved the retro design and also easily apply with the playstation layout absolutely its multi platform but no dongle unfortunately, than also like ultimate wired bcz with cable less delay and look premium hhehhw. hhhmm could anyone suggest me which one is better? for budget around there prices ty btw great review brother 👌🏽

Thanks for the comment. It really depends on what you will use the controller. If it's for android, skip the Ultimate, go for the Pro2. But for Windows or Switch either will work, and the Ultimate Bluetooth has better sticks. Thanks for the comment.
