An amazingly atmospheric view of the Stanier 8F from the Great Central Railway, hauling the longest freight on the ELR ever. Backed up with the story that D5054 a new diesel has failed and the 8F comes to the rescue, and is helped by a banking Jinty. The 8F comes off at Ramsbottom and we capture the freight returning from Rawtenstall. We also explore the River Irwell, and its rebuilding by the Environment Agency, along with the Haweswater Aqueduct which is being bored underground here at Horncliffe.
