while other companies make small incremental improvements, these guys have made huge upgrades. Really impressed with the changes, especially the battery case, becon and remote (there if you need it). Then the range, thermo batteries, increased speed, SD option. Just great. will be upgrading from airx1 for sure.
@@Free__Speech I saw a little remote available for the X1, wrote to them asking about it... they didn't bother to reply. I love my little drone but lost respect for the company after that. I won't bother upgrading, partly a rude company, partly because this drone is bigger and heavier. I have various bags and compartments the X1 just slots in nicely. The news ones won't, so no. If taking something bigger I have a Mini 3 Pro for that.
Loved how this drone is a well thought out device and not just gimmicky stuff we normally saw from other big brands. You can see how everything is made for convenience from it accessories to the drone itself.
I have a DJI Mini 3 and a Hover X1. I use the Hover WAY MORE that the DJI. There are so many places you can take this thing that you can't with any other drone. Use it alot in Europe without worrying about paperwork. People think it is a toy, which is GOOD THING. It is great for TikTok/Shorts. Also way better for anything inside. 2-Axis Gimble means portrait orientation for social media?
In Europe I'm sure you will find that you need to qualify to fly this drone. Reason,it can record, video or sound. An operator and pilot licence required. Not difficult and in most cases no cost. Very much like the ProMax. Ideal.
I love that this company is putting leverage on DJI. Now that this drone is out, DJI will release updates for the NEO that will keep them one step ahead. Then the leapfrogging will continue and we will actually end up with the travel friendly, ease of use, drone we have been waiting for! What an exciting time to be a creator.
OMMGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOODDDDDDDD!!!!!!! Im so mad because I just got the X1 a few months ago. Then dji drone. I can't justify another one. X1 Pro is nearly PERFECT for my use case. Faster follow mode and a Beacon. DAMNNNN!!!!
Great first look video, well done ! Interesting to see: 1. gimbal resistance to crashes on trees ( no obstacle avoidance) as it looks quite exposed compared to the Neo gimbal. 2. Will it get lost behind on the slopes if it loses the beacon signal because of obstacles, and what happens then. 3. If there is possibility of very delicate movement with joystick manual control (equivalent to dji Cine mode) 4. Footage stability with windy conditions while tracking and when not 5. It needs to be the least noisy drone on the market. 6. Possibility of fixing the horizontal angle it will follow you at (similar to dji activeTrack360)
It’s nice, we all want this company to do well. I’ve got the X1 and as a concept, it’s awesome but needs hopefully this version. I have a DJI mini pro and act does a better job currently but I want this company to do well and subject to proper reviews. I would look to buy this top version.
Best demonstration of follow so far with elevation. Trees nets wires poles and side impact area still needing testing. Durability and crash from 20-30 feet ...thanks for the review Aldrin
Thank You for the video. I actually wait for this gear from when first one was released. I knew that they focus on camera in the next iteration, because it was that one step Away from buying the first one.
The first HOVER X1-yes, we love it-is quite brilliant. We are waiting to see the beacon and "remote," but be assured-after the X1's success, we will be grabbing these. The first Hover has been great.
Such a smack in DJIs face :) for that alone I love Zero Zero :) I was already quite happy with the X1besides the IQ. Now things changed and the ProMax will serve me well :)
@@transikkafter seeing video of dji neo I am pretty sure if I buy one of them it will be hover x1 pro (not sure if I need 8k in pro max) Neo looks even more as toy comparing to hover
Hello. I have the X1 and I decided on the Promax because on paper it seemed better than the dji NEO, but now that I see the real price of the Neo and the amount of positive comments, I have a thousand doubts, I am even thinking of canceling the order of the HoverAir X1Promax and ordering the combo of the Neo. But I want the opinion of professionals like you. Since you have the HoverAir X1 Promax in your hand, you could compare it to the DJI Neo. Thank you.
Apart from built in "presets" like follow etc the Neo can't be compared with the specs (I say specs because if haven't seen in real or in reviews) The other thing that speaks for the Neo is the fact that it can be used as a FPV drone but that'll cost you. It all depends on you use case. I've owned the Hover X1 and liked it a lot.
Wow! I am not into drones but this new Pro Max and new DJI Neo are making me crave new toys. Such great tech and innovation. The price is a bit much though...
Looking forward to your full review, an intriguing drone for sure. I spotted a Hoverair reference to the props being designed to be quieter, that will be very interesting to me and my neighborhood drone haters 😂
I paired the X1 ProMax with the Viture Pro XR glasses and it’s perfect for FPV shots. Defaults to landscape mode unlike the Neo so as simple as plugging in via usb c. Didn’t get remote, phone only controls on the iphone 16 works good enough.
I was gonna order the x1 then saw the pro and pro max. Ordered the pro max combo. Can’t wait to use it. I using the mini4 pro and the avata 2 right now. This will be a great quick addition for on the move content.
@@MrPlaneTalk Interesting. I guess I never tried it for too long without unfolding. Will it still record for a while if unfolded but not flying? I guess I should try.
I'd love the pro max as it looks wickedly good but I could get 4 neo drones for the same price, and carry on using my mini 4 pro too, the price is the only down side imo
This looks like a mini version of what used to be the Skydio. Especially having the same "beacon" system. Also, being from the bay area, I definitely need to go check this company in San Francisco now.
Do they have sharpness/image settings? The sharpness of the video is overbearing. Would drive me nuts in post dealing with the over-sharp image it produces. Love everything i am seeing from the drone, but the most important thing, image quality. :(
Thanks for the great first impression video! Looking forward to the full review. I wish DJI would use the RC2 as a beacon. I don't use the active track modes as much as I'd like because it always loses me 😔
Can it fly over water? That's the deal maker!! Waiting for that video. Can I circle a boat or follow a snorkeler or even a whale? Looking forward to aqua related vids.
I received my Hover ProMax on Oct 7th. Have you tried taking off in Manual mode, rise up to an elevation of 10 feet then flip the mode from manual to orbit and use the smart shots? I gave it a go but could not find a way to leave Manual mode and use the smart shots.
Will it fit in a pocket like this? NO! So it's just a bag, that's not convenient. Will it be as well thought out as the Hover? NO! DJI doesn't have the experience for this kind of use case.
Trying to get back to being positive, the ecosystem of accessories appears to be really well thought out. For me, the million dollar question, and it’s the purchasing decider, is the quality of the 4 and 8K video footage and what might be lost in terms of functionality when the drone is recording in this format.
I usually fly my air 3 or mini 4 pro but with the drone my thoughts are using it while I bike ride for content compared to the dji drones that no way I could control and ride at the same time. If this drone does the work for me, it’s just another tool for content. I ordered the $799.00 combo so hopefully I get some good use out of this drone!
Optimal very positive and encouraging comment about us all wanting this company to do well, I became somewhat suspicious when your test going up and down the steps had a recording setting of 2.7K, why would this not be 8K K, or at least 4K? I was about to order this site unseen, now I just don’t feel comfortable.
Ive never owned a drone but I do own a dji pocket 3 and the vertical video is cropped or something so you only get 3k.. my bet is the same happens here.. you will not get 4k or higher in vertical
Does it feed live video to an ipad? Are use a drone to blindside park a semi trailer. I just use it to hover over the spot and see the video to my iPad. Unfortunately, the drone is big as hell and inconvenient to deploy. This would be a great substitution if you could feed video to my cab ipad real time.
Hi 😊 If I'm on vacation in the USA, for example Floria, don't I have to register the drone? Did I understand that correctly? Do I need something else if I'm flying on the beach, for example? let the drone follow me too? In Germany you have to register it with the Federal Aviation Office and only then can you fly. Thank you very much and a great video 👍🏻👍🏻
I hope there will be way to smooth this flight video when elevation is changing up or down , as you we can see that when human change elevation level and take half second to prepare step to go up or down, then drone is doing exactly the same. It makes that video have lack of smoothnes when level is changing
Ok, it does follow me but, what about tracking while I'm walking forwards so that it can track my face? and what about angle shots like low angle follow me or me following the drone, are any of these available on this thing?
Only when I was editing the video I noticed that I launched the HOVER AIR X1 next to a sign prohibiting drones, and no one cared, not even the security. Everyone treats it like a toy. Video code LdmALafNBkc at 19 minutes 10 seconds. You also see that it is not necessary to use it for riding a bike or skiing. For this price, you are not just buying a drone, you are buying a drone + drone pilot + operator. That is how you should treat it.
I'm looking for a drone that I can use for 'follow me' when im driving my jeep slow on the trails or obstacles. Do you think the promax with the beacon would accomplish this?
@@FlytPath this!!! my main prob with X1 is no follow in my snowcat, or rock crawler etc. if the beacon works on a bike (bicycle) as shown - is there any reason that it wouldn't work in jeep etc.? am i missing something? this is the best pre-review i've seen so far FlytPath, thanks. oh... someone else said that the beacon would be able to be used on original X1, that seems way, way to good to be true!
Great video in your next video could you find out if this drone will follow you if you was in a moving car? Like other drones they follow a vehicle from a great height..which im not a fan of,as i record show cars on the move..only achieved with a selfie stick and camera. No drone that i know of can follow a vehicle at close proximity..as in a few feet. Thanks.
Doesn’t the FAA require that all drones regardless of weight be registered and use Remote ID when used for flights other than recreational? I believe that the FAA considers video posted on RU-vid to be other than recreational use.
I could see DJI coming out with their response...put a detachable propellers on their DJI Osmo Pocket...lol...use as normal camera then attach propellers/wings and it's a drone...lol..
Wouldn't be that easy to just mount a propellers to convert. Drone needs motor, sensors for stabilization and object avoidance while pocket action camera needs only camera But as an idea I like it. Other option is to be able to use hover drone as handheld camera when folded (but read somewhere in the comments it will only record for 15 seconds)
Just remember if you're a part 107 pilot and using this "in furtherance of a business" you're going to need to register it with the FAA and get a remote ID dongle to fly it legally. I don't see that thing flying with it on there. I wouldn't be telling people you don't need to register it because you're incorrect in some circumstances
Thanks! WHY, did you do your Follow Me test at only 2.7K? I’m patiently looking forward to getting the PROMAX in my hands and showing videos on my channel! 😊
I already have the X1 and these two new ones may have tough competition with the DJI, not only from cost but the so called DJI eco system. I already have a number of DJI products so the DJI Neo will probably be more suitable for me especially as I already own the Hover X1
Will it fit in a pocket like this? NO! So it's just a bag, that's not convenient. Will it be as well thought out as the Hover? NO! DJI doesn't have the experience for this kind of use case.

NEO costs a lot less ,than this and it is not only a selfy drone. My opinion is that at the end of the day everything will be down on the price. I ve heard some crazy prices for the Pro Max ,and if this will be the case ,it will remain a "boutique" drone for the few that they just want another toy. I reviewed Hover Air X1 and HoverAir will send me the new one for review soon. Lets see.(NEO is already in my hands)
