I have been an Elm creek and Nordic Ski Opener skier for years, so the idea of skiing the Skaði’s (Skaw-Dee) Chase sounded like a great idea. That was until I realized I had skied 15 miles this whole season (and the race was 5 miles). Then I felt even less prepared when the guy next to me did a 15 mile ski as a WARM UP! I have never skied 15 miles let alone as my warm up. Even if I wasn’t prepared I raced it. Watch to see my experience.
If you are wondering where the biking content went, don’t worry. It will continue, but I will throw in some ski races here and there.

Way to get out there!!! I have my first ever fat race in a few weeks and totally ready to accept DFL. It’s all about doing your best.

I want to hear how it goes! Doing something for the first time is super scary but if you don't start somewhere you won't ever start. I totally agree, just get out there and do your best.

Life is so much better outside! I have spent close to 1,200 hours outside this year and it has been such a positive experience. It's never bad weather only bad clothing. Wearing the right layers can make or break being outside in the cold.

Hey, I was there too! Actually, the classic skier right in front of you at the start (with the half pony tail). haha Fantastic job! Especially if you weren't prepared. Regardless, there is an absolute feeling of accomplishment when you cross the finish line knowing that you left it all on the course, right? Hope you'll be at some more races this winter!

I remember talking to you before the race started. It is such a great feeling. I don't have any more races on the calendar right now but I will start putting them on.

This video was most excellent! I’m a fairly competitive skier and know many of the lead skiers that lapped you (by their suits, stature and technique). Your perspective makes a much better video than any of them could make. Guaranteed. It’s all about fun and you kicked ass in that regard. Watch the Netflix movie “Off Track”. Your experience reminded me of “hers”. Your appearance did too! : ) Oh, I just subscribed! Looks like you’re over 100 now! Woo hoo!

We have had a lot of snow but not great skiing conditions. Hoping that they will get better here. I'm glad you are glad to see skiing content.

I'm gonna apologize in advance for what I am about to do, deepest apologies, give unsolicited advice on someones (yours) technique. I highly recommend you check out any of the plethora of skate technique videos and focus specifically on how the best skiers use their arms. I think you will find that they all have about a 90 degree angle between forearm and upper arm, so elbow joint bent to 90 degrees. Pole handles stay quite close to the shoulder when the pole hits the snow. much more power there. Otherwise congrats on a nice race, loved your perspective. Apologies again, delete, flame me, whatever no desire to offend. Best of luck on growing your channel.

This is only my second season skate skiing and I know I have so much still to learn. I felt like this was a great learning experience because I was able to see myself ski and see a few things that I have already started to work on. Thanks for the advice. I will definitely watch some videos and work more on using my arms.
