I had many of these Castle films in my 8mm and Super8 collection back in the day and A&C meet Frankenstein was my favorite of them all and you did an excellent recreation here Hamiltonpl.
At the very end, when the cigarette rises into the air "by itself" and you hear the voice of Vincent Price saying "I'm the invisible man" and laughs. That was awesome. Wonder how much he got for the "uncameo"😂
Believe it or not someone posted their top 10 horror comedies on Facebook and did NOT include A&C Meet Frankenstein - probably the greatest horror comedy of all time.
This is great. I had thought about editing This Abbott and Costello movie to play like a real Frankenstein movie. Removing as much of the comedy as possible. You did a great job.
I still have this reel - and I JUST bought a new projector! Now I wanna watch it again, as well as the other 20 A & C reels I have! (BTW - nice touch with the "film clack" SFX)
I used to buy these short 8mm movie reels when I was a kid, but they were generally without sound (my small projector had no sound available). But this is a really welcome addition to my Samsung library of movies since this is one of my all-time favorites. Thanks for the download!
If I'm not mistaken, the guy playing Frankenstein's monster was Glenn Strange, who for many years was the bartender at Miss Kitty's Long Branch saloon on "Gunsmoke."
In that movie the monster was also played by Lon Chaney Jr.; A small part in the laboratory (around 6:13). due to a small accident that happenned to Strange. Chaney graciously accepted to replaced him.
I bought this 8mm film out from a monster magazine. I remember for a English class exam in high school I played it for thè class and they enjoyed it and passed my exam
My favorite A&C movie hands down ! Plus the fact i wenf into labor with my daughter while watching it at home around 11:00pm on a Saturday night. I would laugh at the movie then grunt during a contraction. My sister kept looking at me when I would geunt and I finally told her it was Hospital time. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Two comedy masters, a bunch of monsters and bad people...and, at the very last-The Invisible Man! What a movie! It's a fun frolic through danger and comedy, like no other! This movie gets a perfect 10 out of 10 score from me!
A great cast from the 1930's Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr. And good ole Abbott and Costello 😅 A funny movie to watch with family and a tub of popcorn 🍿.😊
They intended to replace the monster's abnormal brain with Lou's so then he would leap through windows in fear rather than throw other people through windows... hmm. Nice clear picture though, good job.
Somehow during the early 1960s it seems that it was GLENN STRANGE’s portrayal of the Monster that ended up on point of sale items advertisements etc. Clearly A&C MEET FRANKENSTEIN was a huge fan favorite for Monster kids in the 60s. Glenn Strange played the ‘monster’ 3 times only in released movies - the other two were HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and HOUSE OF DRACULA. All 3 were mash ups with all Monsters…..
When I was a kid I knew there was something off about the scene when Frankenstein pushes the table and started to swing his arms it was Cheney not Glenn strange playing the monster
@@MeanMrMayo people have uploaded 8mm versions of other films that doesn't have the projector sound. I'm only asking if it was possible to get a 8mm version without the sound otherwise no big deal, just thought I'd ask. No need for the snarky attitude.
@@Robin-si3vw I wasnt fortunate enough to have a sound projector back then, but I had countless silent castle horror films that I ordered from the back of famous monsters.
