Some of the live sound was captured on a small PHILIPS REAL TO REAL.Memories

Thank you so much for sharing this. I lived in the High Street from age 2-7 and your video from 0:34 to 0:44 could have been taken from our front door. Also, I loved seeing the Harbour in all its glory and it being hosed down by the fish market. My dad used to take me down there and I remember them doing this, I am so glad I found your video :-)

Thank you. I grew up in Ayr and it was lovely to see it the way I remember it as a child.

Wow! This is amazing. I spent a few months in Ayr back in Feb - Apr 2008 and parts of it still looked the same as 1969. I'm American (with Scottish Ancestors) and it was like another world there. I absolutely loved seeing the sites and being exposed to the history and culture. It was fantastic! Thanks for sharing this.

Growing up in Kilwinning, just a few miles up the road,I used to go to Ayr when I was a wee boy,I remember that big dockside crane at 1:03 into the film and was there recently for the airshow,I filmed it from where you filmed at 4:05 into the film!! Lot of folks saying about junkies and jaikies,,it's like that all over Scotland,,not just Ayr. Great wee film! Thanks for sharing!!

Its good to see Ayr back in its' heyday. I've never seen buses go up the High Street, and I've never seen the harbour so busy. I was born in 1991, and all I remember was the smell from down at South Harbour. It'd be good to see the good old days return. Nowadays it's full of junkies and jakeballs. :(
