@@NevilleBamshu23 that’s what I was really thinking- it’s like a mini version of some type of snooker or pool game. And clearly a huge influence on the air hockey table game. And also reminds me of table shuffleboard the way they use that really fine sand or whatever it is to make the pieces slide down the table. Looks like in this game they are using some sort of talcum powder. I need to watch a video to learn all the rules and strategy. Looks fun though for sure- these dudes making it look easy I’m sure tho!
I've never heard of, let alone seen this game before today. Bought a board 10mins into the video (this is the 2nd video I've watched.) Can't wait to play!!
its been many many years since ive touched carrom. I have never ever watched a professional match before. glad i did and I'm just blown away at how smooth and precise these players make a move.
The board seems to be super smooth and the smoothness seemed better handled by Prashanth. Though Nishantha being an all round player, I am ardent fan of his innovative double ideas, he could not perform against Prashanth every time they met. Well played and congrats to Prashanth and wish better luck next time to Nishantha. Carrom ICF could have taken better efforts for the video recording of this match as the video quality was very poor, could watch many crucial moments, also no display of scores. Anyway thanks for recording such a wonderful match between two great stalwarts of carrom world, it is always a treat to watch the game of Nishantha.
Another version of pool- i like it! You don't need those expensive pool tables and sticks. Seems like a really great game! Thanks for the video introducing me to this neat game :D
Carom is neat. I've never played it in person, but I very much want to. There is a mobile game for Carom which is decent, but much like virtual pool is vastly different from the RL thing.
My Dad bought a Carrom Board back in the 50s (before I was born). I've got it now, and 70 years later, when my S.O. and I have her family over at Memorial Day and Labor Day, it comes out and we play. Ditto for the table-top hockey game I got for Christmas 1963 (still works perfectly).

My dad brought up our carrom board that exist since my chilhood. Such a fun playing this with my little nieces and nephew, the new generation. Brings lots of laughter as the kids shouts anime chants like gum gum pistolll, pika pikachuu whenever their turn to strike. So funny 😂😂 We use lots of talcum powder but still our board not smooth like this Lol
this is the second time ive seen this game. Is there a "best" brand out there that makes professional level tables? I cannot find much on what "regulation" sizes are. Would seem its a mix of table size AND "puck" size. forgive my ignorance on the subject. Hoping to add one to my game room for a more relaxed play than pool, superchexx, golden tee, ping pong and air hockey!
I questioned watching this after seeing them "shake" hands, and here I am an hour later pulling for shots to go in haha. How do I acquire a table like this!??
@@timothyletwin5911 Bar games in rural English pubs can be in this idiom. I remember playing a three foot sloped table with wooden mushrooms and holes in the middle. It was actually good fun.
Growing up as a kid we had a 4 person Carom table. In the 4 corners instead of a hole, ours had netted pockets. Instead of 'checker' type pieces, our pieces were thick plastic rings. My middle finger was always sore after playing. Our table also came with small pool cues that could be used for a different kind of game. Fun, fun, fun.
This looks like a fun game to learn. I've seen a bigger board where the players use rings to shoot, and the pieces move easily like on an air hockey table.
I just came here to feel the carrom I played when I was young. I was so lost that I forgot how real carrom was after watching too much carrom king on RU-vid.
We played a similar game on the streets of Brooklyn called Skellies. Bottle caps filled with candle wax and 15 boxes painte in chalk on the tar street. Great fun as a kid!
Wow, I did not think people played Carrom really anymore, It was a thing in America for a while back in the 60s and 70s It was a fun family game we used to play.
OMG! We had a carrom board as kids in the 1970's in Ohio. Just a fun and creative multipurpose game board. Never knew it was a precious sport in any Country? Also, I had a game with a bunch of different sized poker chips that was rectangular shaped where it had a massive amount of games, Chief among them was the hickey game where you flicked one chip between two other chips to score goals. I remember blue and red poker chips. There was two diamond obstacles right in front if the goal to block easy scoring. It was a great simple strategy game you didn't even need two players to enjoy playing it! Memories! Memories! Why this video came up in my feed I have noooo idea (I was watching political videos)? But my mind is just so happy that this reminded me of the game. Somehow the number 151 is in my head too? Was it the Carrom game or the hockey game?
Why are there 10 lighter coloured disks and 9 darker coloured disks? Seems darker would have the advantage! Sorry, I know nothing about the sport... just know a bit about 8-ball pool.
I've never seen this game before, but noticed there's 19 tokens in the middle. Wouldn't having and odd number of tokens give one side or the other and advantage?
Now I understand why my friend in office told me that the powder on the board is very less. But I am still not sure why my childhood friends used to say that playing behind the line is foul🤙😂
Used to play this as a kid in Bangladesh. Used to get owned by the adults and older kids. Moved to the west before I became a teen. In nearly 25 years here; I haven't even heard this game mentioned. It's super fun to play. Boric powder for the smoothness is hard to find though.
